That is the question, all the odder with Mike in USA. Did anyone ask the guys who tweeted meeting Billie Joe if was on his own? Just seen an update, he was eating with Adrienne and “a few other people” goddam amateurs, who were the otters?? 😂😂4 points

It will break my heart if somehow there's a secret show and I can't go because of my health 💔3 points

I also wondered about Abbey Road 🤣 BBC session wise I was thinking promo. But it can't only be a small thing for them to have come over in person, and I don't imagine Mickey would be brought if only for a one or two day trip....what is up their sleeves?2 points

A few of these are old ones from Billie's Instagram (I'm glad at least someone saved them)2 points

Jools Holland could be a good call, as ever, we just need to wait and see. I don’t see it would have anything to do with the BBC session recordings being released though. Hopefully something to get excited about!2 points
-
Probably. Don't know if Jools Holland still does his New Year TV bash but it's recorded up front so could be something like that So when Tre posted this he was on his way to London2 points

Hopefully something! I’m so excited! I’m jumping to conclusions! But a lot of us are feeling like something is up and it’s been like that for a couple of weeks… Hopefully this is something! Isn’t it a pain to travel from the US to the UK right now? Seems too much of a coincidence.2 points

I just hate it because I don't see how emos posing around, being abusive to their parents for no reason, vandalising stores and cutting their wrists to be cool reflects anything about Billie's youth/the Bay Area punk scene that seemed to actually have worthwhile values which the song refers to. Like, youth rebellion can be shown without being super cringe. I think it was the first Green Day video I waited for and I was very disappointed by it lol. Director's fault though not the actors.2 points
-
To me JOS is just cringe edgy emo teens acting like posers and spoiled brats. With bonus "self harm is so cool!!!11". I was a teenager myself when it came out and cringed then as well. The message of the WMUWSE one is good but again with the cringe emo melodrama at the beginning . Not my cup of tea. Yeah I remember the way they described the concept of it (them playing rockstar characters doing the "sex drugs and rock n roll" thing) was better than the finished result. I think the main problem was the band members were awkward , and the director just didn't really manage to make it look like they and the models were having a fun time. The uncensored Playboy version (which isn't just uncensored but an entirely differently cut video with different footage from the shoot) was a bit better because they looked like they were enjoying themselves a bit more.2 points

According to Google, the NYE hootenanny is recorded early December, but of course this year they may be spreading out having the guests over. Why would it have anything to do with the BBC sessions though, surely by this time they are done and dusted, even the lawyers and management would be done by now? AbbeyRoad is very near Camden Town, just saying. 😉1 point
-
Camden of all places, favourite people in my favourite place... And I have covid so can't go anywhere for a few more days 🙄 It feels too coincidencidental to not be related to the BBC sessions. Not sure how much of Jools Holland is prerecorded, does anyone know?1 point
-
I hope it’s something new 😍 But yeah what else could it be but the BBC Sessions. They can record here. Travelling is a pain. Sure they were in a bunch of cities working on stuff for the Trilogy… This maybe is either maybe rehashing previous stuff or something they have never done before. Being a Green Day fan is the best. Mysteries and excitement! I hope so!!!!!!!!! I’m getting too excited about basically nothing 😆 We will find out soon hopefully!1 point

https://www.instagram.com/p/CVa1qbHrocG/?utm_medium=copy_link So Tre and family are in London, now Chris Dugan posted this, I saw someone say Mike was in London but I don’t know why they thought that, what’s going on I wonder? Could be something or nothing.1 point

Agreed, in some ways it’s great, just weird in others. Cartooning is very difficult to get right!1 point

I got this photo from greendaysminority on Instagram. She posted it in a story a few months back, so I requested the full image from her and she finally saw the DM and sent it to me. She also reposted my new Billie drawing. @The Grohl I LOVE his eyes in it. Just absolutely stunning. Very mesmerizing as you mentioned. This one's just super cute. I love it when he gets wide-eyed like this.1 point

The illustration is really good, but I don't like the weird proportions. It just makes it unsettling imo. I guess that's just his style, but it's not my cup of tea.1 point

I loved both Troubled Times videos, the lyric one, and the "where did it come from" one (which I remember someone here was putting out the theory that someone must have hacked Billie's phone ).1 point

I agree but am sure the first one has been enhanced, or maybe better to say altered. He ‘s so beautiful there is no need to fake it, this one looks OTT to me.1 point

Look what a walking contradiction I am, because here I go engaging in an internet debate! I think the way you view the video is very creative and interesting. What makes most of us understand it the other way around is the way it’s filmed with the focus on women’s bodies, their scant clothing etc... aka the so-called male gaze. It seems to me that this way of filming takes the focus away from the fact that it’s the women who are actually watching (quite literally, considering that we’re having this conversation in a thread dedicated to talking about men’s bodies - I think that’s an interesting aspect of fan culture but that’s for another time), but you could very well argue that it’s an interesting juxtaposition (even though I think that’s way too smart from Sam Beyer and he probably did it accidentally while all he wanted to portay were rockstars and The Boobs ). You reminded me of this video Lindsay Ellis made about the way Megan Fox’s character is portrayed in the Transformers movies vs. the way it’s written in the script. Here it is if you’re interested.1 point

This! Oh Love is not the worst at all. And the turning on its head the idea of the artists entertaining the scantily clad women in a music video. That seems like a new (badly executed) powerful idea. I wish it was executed better but it is far from the worst. Jesus of Suburbia is ok but why the hell is it not over ten minutes of GREEN DAY and their excellent acting instead of what it was just some guy and bad acting (not good bad acting like GD who are the best) and forget about the WMUWSE video. I don’t watch that one. I watched it once or twice just to make sure I didn’t want to watch it again. Oh Love is way better and heavy with the band footage and totally does not even need to go near an award for worst Green Day video.1 point

I was in front of Billie at that show and was absolutely covered in sweat and spit (he was literally raining sweat as I'm sure we all were) and had to fly back to the UK early the next morning so I reckon it was a few days until I was able to shower1 point

Yes, 19th but that was the look ❤️❤️❤️ It was awesome, ruined me for any other band live for life, I couldn’t believe how good they were.1 point

Nobody's ever taken a 5088 on tour before...until now. Green Day's long-time FOH Engineer Kevin Lemoine walks us through why he chose a Rupert Neve Designs 5088 for this year's Hella Mega tour, how it's configured for his specific use, and (most importantly) how it sounds. The tour is now wrapped for 2021, but will be back in 2022. See you then.1 point

Yep, just loved that whole look, total perfection for me. 2009 was the first time I saw them live and was stunned by the beauty! Sadly black pants at my show but all those pics are great. Thanks @Rumpelstiltskin2000, good morning to you too! 😁1 point
