I'll go with Oh Love. At least with HCTS they helped a small streamer to have some visibility and build her community even bigger. I don't think Playboy girls need that.

Oh Love Official Video is 100% nudity 100% drugs 100% cringe 100% unnecessary and stupid

I guess we agree to disagree, then. I don't think it was bold. I think it was a huge mistake to take it in that direction and the result was a trashy, out of place mess that felt like it was trying way too hard. I think the only silver linings are that the band members looked fantastic and, after such a colossal flop, Sam Bayer may have taken some time to reconsider his vision as a director (hopefully). So at least we got this:

What saved WMUWSE from being the worst are those awesome performance shots though. I wish they’d release a cut of just that studio part where they perform because damn they all look good and I love that Jason’s in it. That shot of Billie looking up is just 👀 🔥

To me JOS is just cringe edgy emo teens acting like posers and spoiled brats. With bonus "self harm is so cool!!!11". I was a teenager myself when it came out and cringed then as well. The message of the WMUWSE one is good but again with the cringe emo melodrama at the beginning . Not my cup of tea. Yeah I remember the way they described the concept of it (them playing rockstar characters doing the "sex drugs and rock n roll" thing) was better than the finished result. I think the main problem was the band members were awkward , and the director just didn't really manage to make it look like they and the models were having a fun time. The uncensored Playboy version (which isn't just uncensored but an entirely differently cut video with different footage from the shoot) was a bit better because they looked like they were enjoying themselves a bit more.

Their worst video is Jesus of Suburbia. The cringe!!! WMUWSE a close second. Oh Love and HCTS are both fun, and HCTS is totally wholesome and fits the positive message of the song well.

I just hate it because I don't see how emos posing around, being abusive to their parents for no reason, vandalising stores and cutting their wrists to be cool reflects anything about Billie's youth/the Bay Area punk scene that seemed to actually have worthwhile values which the song refers to. Like, youth rebellion can be shown without being super cringe. I think it was the first Green Day video I waited for and I was very disappointed by it lol. Director's fault though not the actors.

If they set the video in 1920s he’d pull it off as an artist dying of consumption really well.

It's cliche "sex, drugs & rock 'n roll". There is nothing progressive about the video. And of course the girls are "consenting." It's the role they are being paid to play. I invite you to watch the bts of the video:

unpopular opinion: billie looks/Ed horrible & spaced out in the “oh love” video. I find nothing attractive about him in it.

Who’s Green Day? I heard that Oakland Coffee sometimes uses some band in their advertising.

I know what you mean, I’ve always felt they got us and understood but this recent period has felt a little disconnected. 😟

I honestly thought the crazy Green Day fans were more important than that I miss the teasing and the fun projects etc so much. It was very special being a Green Day fan. Now… I don’t know how I feel about the past year or so… Hella Mega was… I don’t know how to feel about that either. I wasn’t able to go. No interviews, no behind the scenes, nothing to connect anything unless you were able to buy a ticket and attend the show. A lot of us are not able to do that.

He’s posted again with Tarantula playing over it, saying “somebody should come out of retirement and write a song about it” but I can’t share it.

“She” is an awesome beautiful song this much is true. Very true. However, totally not a BTS video as titled and what a lot of people were waiting for especially during these trying times and lack of social media or interviews. They would be less disappointment if it wasn’t year two of isolation, not being about to travel and all the other stuff. Plus, don’t call it BTS. It could have had a funny interview backstage or something or anything but it didn’t. That does not take away from She being an absolutely outstanding beautiful meaningful song. It’s one of my favs. It means a lot to me and a lot of us I’m sure. The performance and the way this video looks is fantastic. I’m going to watch it again right now. But it’s not BTS.

Only got into the trilogy recently (very late I know) but 99 revolutions, x-kid, make out party (love bj’s snarl in this) and let yourself go are my favourites! I would say there’s worst songs on the trilogy tho tbh

Sorry, didn’t make myself clear, I meant some other, older videos like WMUWSE hasn’t aged well because it was made at a time when that style of video was very popular, you don’t see that anymore.

As much as I really don’t mind the video for Oh Love, I do wish it was for a different song or didn’t exist at all if it wasn’t going to be executed properly. Oh Love is one of those pulling at heart strings songs and fortunately this video for this song misses the mark entirely. One good thing is we’re still talking about the Trilogy all these years later even though the band band won’t play these songs. A lot of great songs on the Trilogy. Oh Love (the song) got muddled up in some backlash it didn’t deserve. The whole Trilogy did. It’s really unfair. Those songs meant a lot to a of people.

I largely agree with you and find non GD fans just think it’s a fun Rick video with girls in but I think for those of us who are deeper into the band, it just doesn’t feel like a good fit, particularly for Billie as such a family man. I think some of others talked about here have just aged badly which is very common for music videos. The long version of WMUWSE was just too awful but that was totally a thing at the time. I think @pacejunkie punk said part and I totally agree, whole video like that please instead of cringed melodrama! HCTS was a great warm up video during lockdown 😂😂

Maybe kinda hard to get the band and then crew etc together at that time to make a video at the time HCTS was released. Here Comes the Shock is promoting Punk Rock Aerobics you can do at home during the pandemic if you can’t get out much. That’s not bad at all. It could be kind of helpful to some people to check out Hilken Mancini and other Punk Rock Aerobics videos. The past couple of years have been a time for a different approach to the everyday.

I also hate WMUWSE video. I have never liked it. Sure, the story is important but it's just boring. And I hate the acting at the beginning. I have no qualms about JOS. Then again I had a huge crush on the guy playing St Jimmy so.... I'd much rather this JOS than WMUWSE or HCTS and especially Oh love. As for which is worse, Oh Love or HCTS...that's sooo hard. Oh Love actually has Green Day but makes me cringe. HCTS is just boring. Honestly I think I could tolerate HCTS more. Oh Love is way too cringe and just weird. HCTS is at least more within their wheelhouse.

Overacted story line. Over 10 minutes of a Green Day video of no Green Day. It could have been so much more.

Thanks for the reminder I am going to go watch the uncensored version right now. Definitely worth checking out. Oh Love is a good looking video and different than any other GD video. I like to revisit it now and again. The dorky awkwardness cannot be washed out of this rock star band even with a video like this but I still like this video. Maybe that’s why I especially like this video ❤️

This! Oh Love is not the worst at all. And the turning on its head the idea of the artists entertaining the scantily clad women in a music video. That seems like a new (badly executed) powerful idea. I wish it was executed better but it is far from the worst. Jesus of Suburbia is ok but why the hell is it not over ten minutes of GREEN DAY and their excellent acting instead of what it was just some guy and bad acting (not good bad acting like GD who are the best) and forget about the WMUWSE video. I don’t watch that one. I watched it once or twice just to make sure I didn’t want to watch it again. Oh Love is way better and heavy with the band footage and totally does not even need to go near an award for worst Green Day video.

Okay, so we get a few shots of the Drunk Bunny drinking beer and riding in the car, barely anything of the boys. I think this was the least behind the scenes BTS video we've gotten. Super disappointing.

As a collective fandom it feels like Green Day are breaking up with us 🥺

Just watched now and yeah it is kinda disappointing. Is it me or are there even repeat frames in there. I'm sure if you were at those shows it's cool but as a lot of you have said it's hardly behind the scenes

Episode 5 is out. Look like it's the Finale. Maybe we'll get more of those in 2022. Still hoping for a live CD/DVD soon.
