So in the Lost TV fandom there was a message board forum much like this one called The Fuselage. It was the official message board of the show. The cast, writers and show runners all had their own accounts and they each got a thread just for them in a special cast and crew section. There you could post a question or chat and they’d respond. Some were never on there, some posted occasionally and others were on quite frequently it was really up to them. They might have lurked on other parts of the forum if they chose but generally they stayed out of the show discussion threads and didn’t interact anywhere else. The cast forum was their safe space. If Idiot Nation ever were to return in any official capacity, I would envision and hope for something like this to take the place of all other social media interaction for them. Use official Green Day Instagram account to sell merch and promote tours, but the fan forum would be where you tease secrets shows and projects, chat with your biggest fans, answer questions, post photos, no stress, no trolls because it would be heavily moderated. I would very much like to see something like that for Green Day, with threads for them as well as Jason/Jason/Kevin, Bill, Chris, Greg, etc. (PS, it will never happen 🥺)7 points

There was another pic (haven't seen it in awhile) of the guys doing an interview with drunk bunny looming behind them. We never saw that interview. This was another pic from that that used to be on Billie's IG- Caption was something like "hanging with this tweaker".7 points

Hell, I've been waiting 4 years for this interview to surface.6 points

I miss the livestreams like crazy especially since I only signed up for IG for Billie's livestreams and he didn't do a single one! 😤5 points

I actually miss the livestream’s billie would do and definitely when he would post lenny, but with instagram being down and him not being active anyway, it’s okay but I do miss him in general just posting AND HOPEFULLY one day, he’ll come back when the time fits him5 points

I miss Billie Joe Armstrong, the Longshot and Green Day being active on IG. I will never forget. It went 0-5 and then 5-0 and zero was such a crash and burn letdown. The fun posts were a silver lining to the pandemic even before the pandemic. I miss them so much. Especially during these trying times and 2021 being so shit after 2020 being such a shit year. It’s been too long. Oh well. Shitty shit. I really hope he starts teasing us again. Side project or nothing or something or even a new playlist whatever. Wtf happened to Twitter engagement? That could be a lot of fun.5 points

Well……. Not that we are sitting waiting or anything…….😉😉4 points

I'm just curious if we'll get a peep out of any of them in the coming months or if it will just be radio silence until right before Hella Mega ramps up again next year. Kevin will at least be there to keep us company. He went water skiiing with Tré, so maybe he can drag Billie or Mike along on some adventure that he posts.4 points

I wonder if there more to it or if it’s just pandemic weirdness or something else. No matter the reason his presence is dearly missed. He is a very popular and loved frontman guy.4 points
-
I don't even mean him actively participating on social media himself. Not doing that is definitely the best choice he could make not just for his well-being but also to avoid eventually being cancelled. What I find interesting is that he's just gone from 99% of content related to a band he happens to be the frontman of.4 points

So Rolling Stone posted about the Oakland Coffee seven inches Green Day has been doing and they mentioned that any remaining stock will be released to the public...so keep your eyes peeled I guess! https://www.rollingstone.com/product-recommendations/lifestyle/green-day-new-record-oakland-coffee-1190466/amp/?__twitter_impression=true3 points

@jengd @Slave To The Network ... What is organizing photos? 🤣 It's actually a great idea! I just dump mine in a Green Day folder 😆3 points
-
It's strange that he's practically gone from all social media/promo posts. Makes me think it has to be a consicous decision not to appear on sm at all or he must be pretty reclusive these days.3 points

Which I have done for years, and all over the place, but then I realised just how much storage I was using and that I had quite a few duplicates, plus lockdown…..😁😉2 points

I reeeeeaaaaally want a Horny plush, but I don't know where to find one. The only place that I've had any luck locating the actual item is on the Green Day UK website and he's sold out. 😭2 points

Maybe I just wasn't paying attention to that tbh. I only noticed him in concert footage/shots. And yes, I would absolutely say the same about Mike. He's seems to have vanished too.2 points
-
He was heavily featured in the photos the band account posted. You could say the same thing about Mike not posting or being in Sarah's instagram stories while on tour.2 points

He is! I also love how he still loves to make Billie laugh and Billie genuinely complies!2 points

These are beautiful gifs from geekgirl on Tumblr https://thisisjoy.tumblr.com/post/664244630748053504/here-comes-trouble-the-uninvited-this-brutal-love There's a story from a long time ago where Billie talks about going dumpster diving (with Adrienne I think)1 point

I think the first one is when asked during that interview what injuries they have sustained, Trè said he chipped a tooth once on Billie's kidney stone 😂1 point

I don't know if he's actually startling or reacting to a joke or something. He starts laughing like that a lot in interviews - usually when Tré says something weird. Since we're on the topic of laughing, though... (it looks like Billie is laughing at himself laughing)1 point
-
You’re right it’s weird but we’re gonna look back on these years for photos and there’s gonna be this big gap starting in 2020 where we have very little of Billie that isn’t a performance photo. Strange when you think of the thousands of shoots, selfies and candids from every year up until then.1 point

This is also a beautiful photo This too For that matter this one too1 point

I also love that there’s an account called “hourly billie joe” 😄1 point

I am surprised to see folk think naught Billie had gone anywhere, he may be less naughty Billie if you're not paying attention, but look at his eyes, naughty Billie is still there. Not to mention, silly Billie is here to stay! 😂1 point

Let's not even start with this bullshit I think this conversation should end now, doesn't look like Beerjeezus wants to continue and nothing else really needs to be said anyway. Back to fangirling.1 point

Billie didn’t get cancelled for publicly making unwanted advances to random women and taking his dick out during a livestreamed event, I’m sure he can get away with showing a bit of ass.1 point
-
I highly doubt that he would be. It's been a thing that he does for years and it's completely harmless and stupid - part of his goofball stage persona. Super different from groping or touching someone or doing something that violates a person's sense of physical and/or mental well being, which is the main reason why many men get "cancelled". All Billie does is moon an audience of people who are already GD fans and know that he's a sweet, dorky idiot. He knows better than to do it on live TV, but a Green Day show just for the fans is fair game. I agree with you that I miss naughty Billie, though. He needs to loosen up again. I want to see more pelvic thrusting during St. Jimmy and Longview again. And moaning. The HAR moaning is nice. 😏 How could anyone take this seriously?1 point

Even if a band reaches great heights usually there was a time when they were just ok or even bad. We live in a society where if a band puts out something average or kinda bad everyone suddenly hates them now. It didn’t always used to be this way. Art can affected by many things. Life changes, problems, etc. We shouldn’t expect anything really good anymore. Are they still capable? Absolutely. May just be at a point where it may take longer to come up with something better. Usually by this time in band’s career, you’re seeing 7-10 years or longer between releases. And I’d be ok with that personally. I still like almost everything they’ve released but ever since AI/21CB we’ve seen fewer and fewer good songs with every album. They shouldn’t feel pressure to put out a great album though if it becomes too stressful. I’m ok with side projects being more interesting. I appreciate those a lot. I don’t really care how commercially viable something is. About half of rev rad was really good even if they didn’t have the same commercial viability. Maybe it’s better that way. Green day is more about the magic of the 90’s, early 2000’s. That’s probably why rev rad doesn’t work quite as well as dookie or american idiot or even 21CB. There just wasn’t the same social and musical landscape1 point
