He literally wrote a song saying he's a walking contradiction so we shouldn't be surprised6 points

He did the exact same thing at my show! He said "Look at all the pretty lights!"6 points

Yeah, but then he was also so stressed out and fucked up that night they couldnāt get him on stage for an hour. If a stable, reliable setlist of hits is easier for him, maybe thatās just how it has to be. Iām not saying the two always have to go together but it is true the set lists were often wilder when he was messed up and being impulsive.5 points

We were talking about the Shepherd's Bush show in the picture request thread and I got to thinking about it. Just look at the setlist compared to Hella Mega... https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/green-day/2012/o2-shepherds-bush-empire-london-england-bdc7d1a.html Can't believe this was nine years ago5 points

So here're a few Billie pics I've been obsessed with lately. I just don't know how anyone can be so fucking attractive. How is he like this? His eyes in the 21CB one are just hypnotizing. This is all three of them (and they all look great, of course!), but I love how Billie's bangs are styled here. I miss his bangs being like this! š I do like them gelled up like they have been lately, but I prefer them down.5 points

I have some others on my computer but it's been broken for ages and not got around to replacing it! Found a few more There are some others on Getty Images website if you search for "Green Day Shepherd's Bush"5 points

I was at that show and at the time no one thought anything about any of it until iHeart happened. Everyone says in hindsight Billie was f**ked up that night but at the time it was far from people's minds4 points

Me too š I always skip that one. Although top faves are a little different I love Loss of Control and top forever fav is FELL FOR YOU (times a gajillion million) fav song off the trilogy and also love Stay the Night, Oh Love, and so much more. The Trilogy is a jam packed treasure chest except for one or two I tend to skip but considering itās 3 full albums skipping one or two is minimal and doesnāt mean that much at all. The Trilogy is a masterpiece.3 points

Still think the trilogy was amazing. Has some of their best work with lazy bones, stay the night, sweet sixteen, Ashley, 8th Avenue serenade, x-kid, nuclear family, stray heart. a lot of filler, but thatās what I liked most about this project. We got a chance to hear polished songs that otherwise would have been left on the cutting room floor. hate all the negativity surrounding this album (and FOAM)!3 points
-
It was obvious that the trilogy was a commercial flop by the time 99 Revolutions tour started so I donāt think it had anything to do with the albumās success either.3 points
-
I really don't think setlists are something we need to start associating with Billie's issues. They were more varied back then because Green Day were still very relevant, which meant more people were interested in hearing deep cuts (especially at a small show like Shepherd's Bush). Even on the 99 Revolutions Tour there were some pretty exciting setlists because that was before the trilogy's lack of success was clear. It's not that deep.3 points
-
Brutal love. Itās one of my favorite Green Day songs ever, not just from the trilogy. Thereās tons of great songs on trilogy, I really donāt get why people donāt like it as much3 points

Love Mike and love Kermit. They both seem like such sweet souls. P.S. I still miss Billie Joe posting on Insta and I will not forget it haha. But seriously. What a weird void. Years of fun interaction and then a big ditch. He used to post a lot! Iād like to thank TrĆ© the hero during these troubled times for the wonderful posts ā¤ļø so good and heartfelt and funny too! Love him so much always and more ā¤ļø but still missing the lead singer guy.3 points

Hi guys, I feel like the Trilogy is a masterpiece and it's so underrated. I love the songs on that albums especially Stray Heart. So today I decided to cover it with myself. What is your favorite song from the Trilogy?2 points
-
Iām not too big on the songs from the trilogy? but I do think brutal love sounds amazing live ESPECIALLY here2 points

Indeed! He is so good at IG hype š even just activating the deactivated accounts would be hype š³ I wonder what will happen š§ Heās insane and beautiful with his talent and crazy drive to create great stuff. It seems like the guy canāt help but write and start projects during his little bits of Green Day downtime and he likes to share and make it fun to figure out and get interactive with fans. IG = perfect platform for what he does best as far as teasing etc. Hope he activates his accounts sooner than later but the wait would be worth it if itās to tease a new cover, single or project and get back to the fun and brilliant stuff.2 points

I saw a few people wearing the network shirt when I was waiting in line during the philly show lol, I think I saw a couple of the longshot too? but really, I wouldnāt mind another small longshot show or just another small release in general2 points
-
I do. Itās ok if thatās how they want to make the most out of their last few decades. It seems a little too early to go into the Stones mode though.2 points
-
I'm sure they will return to touring as just Green Day for Green Day fans when they release another album.2 points

What's gonna happen when the lead singer guy gets inspired to release another cover song, single or solo project? He'll have no way to promote it or get fans hyped1 point

I saw a couple of people wear the Longshot shirts in the pit at the LA show. (me being one of them :D) hopefully Billie got to see throughout the tour in general the Longshot is well supported to bring it back š1 point

Pretty much this. The Hella Mega Tour was a Green Day tour. Fallout Boy and Weezer were opening bands. I really donāt understand this thinking that there will be some kind of āproper US tourā coming in 2022 with only Green Day. They just toured 21 stadiums in the US. I donāt know how thatās not considered a proper tour. And itās not even like the setlist was cut THAT drastically to where it really made a difference compared to their previous tours.1 point

Oh man, so it took me a loooong time, but I finally got all my RAW photos edited. Here are some of my favorites and I'll also link to the whole collection: I'll spoiler some more: Here's the link to the whole album: https://imgur.com/a/AGKfdFG1 point

I think it is better. It would be great if they had the same kind of resurgent success with this cover that Weezer did with Africa. Although in the case of this song, it's even better if you were there to see it live. The memory of the tour is what's so great. (And thank you for that gif. Watching Billie flail like a beetle on its back is just what I needed)1 point
