  1. Billie is like a cat. He is both a liquid and a solid at the same time.

  3. This is still one of my favorites because it looks like he's melting.

  4. Agreed, he sounds like a punk purist with a personal code. Not only do they employ hundreds of people who depend on them and do need a livelihood but one look at this crowd and the bands’ faces and he’d realize it’s not about needing the money, it’s about needing music, live performance and togetherness again. That we desperately need, including these rich rock stars (who’ve gotten depressed like everyone else over the past two years)

  5. **Not directed at you, That Dude. Good lord, Roecker.... They have employees. Bill, Greg, Chris, all of their techs... yeah, maybe the 3 of them don't "need" more $$ but it's also a business which employs others who rely on touring for their means. He seems rather bitter towards them.

  6. John Roecker seems angry with Green Day and the Hella Mega Tour in general. He asked if the concerts were requiring proof of vax or masks. He then asks "how much do these guys need?" The music industry is a dark place. it's not necessarily Billie Joe Armstrong's fault if the band is doing something. Nearly 100 percent of decisions are on the record label. But yeah. Hopefully it's not personal, just him venting.

  7. It doesn't work that way though because you could still pass it on to other people. Do we know what the best answer to that is for sure? No. But it isn't over.

  10. I hope there’s new footage / a new video soon. Although this tour seems so chaotic. Would behind the scenes be a good thing or would it be really well edited and contrived? I still want to see if there’s anything fun or good. Ugh the suing of bootleggers and the suffering of Green Day sales etc doesn’t seem like a fun time. And FOB being off the tour. And all the other stuff. I hope things are going well outside of the headlines. I love the band and I hope there’s another great Oakland Coffeehouse Behind the Scenes Green Tour Video coming soon.

  11. It's not just people who don't want to be vaccinated, it's people who haven't been able to get both shots yet and some who can't or have conditions that mean it's still dangerous even with the vaccine. Again I'm not saying we shouldn't be lifting some restrictions/starting to return to normal, I'm glad we're doing that. But there's a difference between that and pretending it's OVER when we're not there yet and it's still useful to be cautious and wear a mask/social distance when possible/sanitise your hands a lot etc. And even if it's very close to over where you live it doesn't mean it's as close everywhere in the world. So it's simply incorrect to declare "it's over" on a forum with international users.

  19. Suing bootleggers is about as unpunk as it gets. These guys , well at least BJA have to be worth $100 million dollars. Who cares if some guy makes a few hundred bucks outside the show? Tickets aren't cheap and some people want a souvenir without spending $50 for a t-shirt that costs $5 to $10 at most in bulk. I'm sure before they were rich the band may have bought bootlegs themselves. How would a guy selling bootleg shirts afford Green Day's expensive ass lawyer fees? Even if they win, good luck collecting.

  21. “I did my part” is an incredibly selfish way to think. You can still spread Covid. You can pass it to (all be it idiotic) people who may get seriously ill. further spread could lead to further mutations, which the vaccine may not work against we all want fully normal, but we aren’t there yet, not even close.

  33. Just watched Irving Plaza 2012 concert from start to finish for like 834th time, but last time happened years ago. Here are some of my random thoughts during it: - Man, Welcome to Paradise is such a good opener. - Fuck I'm so glad I heard Murder City live back in 2013. Someone give Billie Joe his cigarettes ASAP! - Oh, this is where ''all i got to do tonight is to fuck my wife'' line came from, completely forgot it. - Kill the DJ was surprisingly good live, minus weird ''oh-oh'' after solo. - Holy shit Oh Love was horrible live song. It simply was too boring. - Please bring back Stop When the Red Lights Flash for even one more show. That song is a banger. - Burnout really works on E Standard, just like other Dookie songs. - Man, Billie Joe was feeling REALLY good during Brain Stew. - I can understand very clearly now why most of the oldies don't get played too often; they're easily forgettable, especially 409 In Your Coffeemaker. - Trying to remember how 86 goes was very fun part during the show. - At the Library is simply amazing. - During Paper Lanterns I started to notice how Billie's voice is starting to wear down. No wonder, they've already played 30 songs at this point. - F.O.D was fucking amazing and I don't even like that song. - Jesus how annoying King for a Day is. Not the song itself, but it just kept going on for hours. - Wake Me Up When September Ends was simply sad mess. Only one who played it well was Mike. - That infamous ''billie vomiting during american idiot'' is still weird. It just looks like a big spit. - 99 Revolutions was a great opener, but horrible encore, especially with its dull lyrics which were already outdated when this show was played (September 2012). - That being said, I love how chaotic that ending was. Billie Joe never wanted to stop. Aaaand here are some overall thoughts after I was done watching it: - The Boys™ were fucking rocking it. - Even with Billie's problems, he managed to remember most of the lyrics for (debatable) 40 songs, he shredded with guitar from start to finish and never stopped engaging with the crowd. Gotta respect that. - Wait, they didn't play Basket Case? I always remembered that they didn't play Boulevard and Jesus of Suburbia on this show, but seems like I misremembered it. - I still don't buy that story that multi-millionaire and very famous Billie Joe woke up in some random park in New York goddamn City and no one seemed to care/notice/etc. - That room was hot as hell, I wonder how many celsius were inside during the end. All in all, my favorite show from my favorite era. Simply amazing setlist with very little annoying parts, like King For A Day.

  37. I made it and it was awesome! I'm tired as hell and have no voice left but I loved every minute of it. Once Green Day took the stage, all of my anxiety melted away. I didn't think it was possible, but I love them even more now! 🥰
