I don't know what makes y'all think next year is going to be any better... we said "next year" last year too. We have more vaccines than we know what to do with in the U.S. but people like Mike's wife don't "believe" in them and that's not going to change. This surge isn't because of breakthrough cases. This surge is because of unvaccinated people and the data supports that. https://www.vox.com/22602039/breakthrough-cases-covid-19-delta-variant-masks-vaccines As crass as it sounds, we will eventually have to just give up and stop caring. The only exception right now is kids — I feel terrible for children who have no say in the matter because of their crazy parents or aren't yet eligible for vaccines. And the few people who can't get them legitimately for health reasons. But I have no sympathy for anti-vaxxers and it's not my job to protect them. I'm so fucking tired of this shit.12 points

Wow @Beerjeezus really is all-knowing... they've pissed off more fans than they've pleased this tour, I swear. I guess it was only a matter of time before this happened, but I'd be fucking LIVID if I paid $200 for a ticket and didn't get to see my favorite band. They really should offer refunds because that's fucking shit. What if it happens to Green Day too?11 points

We were already worried about ourselves making it. We have a family wedding out of town the weekend before, if any of us come back with symptoms we can’t go to the show. But we could all be well and the band could be sick. (And I’m sorry, but with a Covid officer on tour and all these bubbles, how the hell is it okay for Mike to see his unvaxxed wife in NYC? (According to her IG))9 points

Yeah I thought we all agreed Billie was Sourdough. The question is, what kind of bread are Mike and Tre? BTW, my boyfriend just looked at my screen, saw the bread comment, and said we're ridiculous9 points

Whatever your opinion of any of the other two headliners, you paid for THREE headliners and you expected those headliners. You in NY and Boston are now paying more per minute of the concert for your tickets, and if you are only there for FOB, it's now just going to be an unpleasant experience because you don't want to eat your tickets, but you don't really want to see GD or Weezer that much. It sucks. If GD cancels my show, I definitely don't know what I'm going to do. It's going to be so hot and I don't really like FOB or Weezer enough to sit through their sets without GD. But with no refunds, I'll also not want to waste every single dollar of my ticket. Not offering refunds during this time of increased potential cancelations of a third (or more) or the bill is just cruel to fans, albeit unsurprising, as the industry doesn't care about fans.8 points

The Interrupters have a fucking good discography. Would be cool if THEY play longer.7 points

I've said this multiple times already (both here and on reddit) but vaccinations should be a requirement for these shows. Refunds should be made available to those who wanted to see Fall Out Boy at those shows. Vaccine requirements should be prioritised over masks because 1) Vaccines are more effective 2) It's harder to enforce mask rules. Like, what if a bunch of people just take off their masks during the show? Will the show have to be stopped so they're made to put it back on. I think masks should be encouraged but I don't think you can exactly force everyone to wear a mask at all times7 points
-
This was bound to happen sooner or later, considering they’re not even asking for a proof of vaccination or a test from people attending these shows (or you know... masks). Some crew members (mainly security) can’t avoid close contact with all those people.7 points
-
I blame Florida. They've been reckless throughout the entire pandemic.7 points

Wow, that sucks. People suck. If you truly respect and love Green Day, why would you lie about not being vaccinated to get on stage and potentially put them at risk? That's such selfish thing to do. It's so amazingly nice of them to be bringing fans on stage at all on this tour and to take advantage of that kindness and trust is just awful. They don't owe us that - it's a privilege and if things go south because of a handful of assholes they can take it away and then nobody gets to have fun.7 points

Hey I have an idea, they should get The Network to come out and fill in! Now where did those guys go? 🤔6 points
-
Agreed. I didn’t want this tour to happen but was hoping for the best and now I definitely wish they would cancel the tour. This is not good and not fair either. Yeah. At least masks. This tour has been looking super iffy. I don’t get it.6 points
-
It’s messed up that they don’t play any Trilogy songs. Such great songs on those records. I’m glad the Otis mixes and the Longshot give some of the best songs off the Trilogy some special treatment. Hopefully one day Green Day will too.6 points

You know what, if Billie and Kevin kiss, I’ll consider it made up for5 points

Yeah, for all of their precautions I was surprised that her and Mike got to see each other in NY. I know she kept posting about missing him but it was her choice not to get vaxxed (not to mention post some real cringe misinformation)5 points
-
At this point it wouldn’t surprise me... and to keep my brand, I have to say that replacing FOB with sitting there for an hour in silence still isn’t a bad trade as far as I’m concerned5 points

I’m going to the show tomorrow in Boston and i’m pretty pissed. Shelled out more than $250 for two tickets and not even getting to see the entire show I payed for. I like every band playing including the Interrupters, was still mostly going for Green Day, but am really disappointed that FOB isn’t playing. One of my friends who has tickets was mostly going for FOB and now doesn’t even want to go anymore. It’s complete bullshit that they haven’t even commented on updated set times or if people can’t get refunds under these circumstances with the current times. I understand that logistically this must be a complete nightmare, but i’d rather they just postpone the fucking tour instead of having bombs like this dropped on people who paid a lot of money to see this show day of.5 points

Covid has sucked all the fun out of this tour. At this point I wish they would just cancel the whole thing and give us refunds. I feel bad for the FOB fans. If GD did this I wouldn’t go, but as people said since they are the headliner I don’t think the show would happen without them. But the tickets were pricey because you were getting four bands. That’s incredibly unfair.5 points
-
I don’t think anyone should be surprised by this. It was bound to happen eventually. That said, I think they should definitely be offering refunds. I’d be pissed if I had tickets to this and one of the three headliners cancelled. You paid for all three, so if you can’t see all three there needs to be options for reimbursement. What a shit show.5 points

What, 525 pages in this version of the thread talking about hair, eyes and jackets and we’re ridiculous! Honestly, some people ……. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣5 points

Unbelievable that they're not even making The Interrupters and Weezer go on later so there's not a one hour wait between bands. I guarantee it's just to keep fans in the venue longer to keep them buying overpriced concessions. There's a club in my city that regularly puts national touring acts on at like 12-1am just to keep everyone who showed up at 8-9pm because that's when they assumed the headliner would go on trapped inside buying $7 beers while they wait.4 points

Why does Mike as a baguette seem so right? Is it his build? 😂😂4 points

I just got an email from Ticketmaster that you can request a refund for Citifield since FOB is not performing4 points
-
This tour keeps beating any horror scenarios I make up. I agree, they should offer refunds because there definitely are people who came to see FOB in the first place. I’d be pissed off if I were in their place.4 points
-
Judging by the majority of comments on Instagram and elsewhere that ask “does this mean Green Day gets to play longer?” I’m pretty sure fans would revolt if GD wasn’t playing. I’m not even a big FOB fan but I like their setlist they got going and would love to see them perform it. Not giving out a refund and letting people know if the the set times are different or the same kinda sucks. If the sets stay the same length and they cut it short I’d be even more livid. I think tour was cursed from the get go.4 points
-
who would have thought that asking one person out of several thousands if they’re vaxxed might not cut it as covid precautions for the entire tour4 points
-
Just make vaccine required for attending these shows. I think people's health and safety is a lot more important than maximizing profits4 points
-
personally the trilogy era is the one i enjoyed most, around the trilogy time i had my first love its also the last time GD had some kind of real joy for their project, revrad was a bit more "serious", and foam was just...wrong somehow4 points

Watching one of the show threads during this current tour reminded me of constantly checking twitter all night for the Echoplex show when someone who had managed to get a ticket had offered to keep people undated on what was going on and being played. No livestream back then! And at the Red 7 show people without tickets recorded it from an alleyway outside to share with people!4 points

If they're committed to having the tour this year, it seems like the best thing to have done is postpone these dates and tack them onto the end of the tour in September. I guess that wasn't possible due to the stages likely having been built already (or at least in the process) and because of possible schedule conflicts with the baseball teams. On a side note, it is time for Green Day to end the shtick of bringing fans up on stage. I know crowds love it but right now it is not worth it.3 points

The show today was supposed to be my show, but I sold the tickets. I just don't feel comfortable being in that big of a crowd yet. I was feeling kind of bummed about it, and questioned my choice. But, now I'm not so upset. I'm not FOB fan, but I did pay money to see them.3 points

Green Day will not play a longer set. They will stick to this setlist until the end of the tour.3 points
-
Doubt it. Even if there's 3 headliners (and weezer and FOB are probably more commercially successful at the moment), Green Day gets the longest set and they're THE headliner.3 points
-
Oh wow, hopefully whoever is sick is doing ok since they're vaccinated and only missing two shows. I'm going to the Fenway show and this adds to the already ominous feelings I have about attending with Massachusetts cases spiking (I'm traveling down from Maine). I have been going back and forth about wearing a mask for the show, but now I think I probably will. On a selfish note, does this mean more time for Green Day? 😇3 points

Oh wow you and your friends in your particular area in your particular country are ok so that means everyone in the world is ok! Better tell all the people still getting covid, suffering in hospital with it or dying from it that there's nothing to worry about. Btw does this have anything to do with covid rules at Green Day shows? All I'm seeing is people pointlessly coming to the thread trying to provoke a reaction.3 points
