  1. Thank you to ALL of you for your advice and words of encouragement! I'm feeling a bit less nervous now since reading all of your words of support. Sometimes I have a hard time deciphering between my feelings of excitement and anxiety...they sometimes feel one in the same and I am walking a fine line there. I often wonder how Billie does it but I suppose his love of what he does forces him to overcome or deal with his anxiety most of the time. I am actually in awe of how sensitive he is and how deeply he feels that he can actually put himself out there like he does. Anyway, thanks again and I hope to report in on what an awesome time I had and what a great show they put on in NY! šŸ„°

  6. Couple of interesting things near the end: Jason talks about the decision that led him to being an unofficial fourth member during the trilogy and there was no drama about its temporary status, it had everything to do with the fact that they wanted to record live in the studio with two guitars so his involvement on the record elevated his profile a bit but for the next album they went back to the traditional way of tracking and that was it. But he was never really a fourth member like that, Green Day was and is always a trio. The other thing he hinted at was possible Pinhead Gunpowder activity. Jason is meeting Aaron this week while theyā€™re in NY just for a friendly meetup and (maybe with the reissues creating interest again?) thereā€™s a chance they could decide to record and/or tour next. Itā€™s up to Aaron but he made it sound like a possibility

  8. My favorite era, my favorite albums and only era where I've seen GD perform live. I can't praise Trilogy enough and Cuatro! documentary is simply awesome as fuck. Banger after banger; Trilogy delivered and I'm nostalgic as fuck to something that happened almost 10 years ago. It's great to see them still being active, making albums and doing live shows, but 2011-2013 was just something magical that The Boysā„¢ couldn't replicate years later even if they wanted. Thanks for this thread and awesome screenshots and links; take me straight back to the day GD announced 3 goddamn albums in a span of 4 months! Never been so hyped in my life.

  9. I have something for you actually but I donā€™t know if itā€™s that hard to find 1) Idiot Nation subscription, I won that subscription here on GDA with a photo contest 2) This copy of Rolling Stone America that a Green Day Fan sent me ā¤ļø 3) There was this contest with a slot machine, that was funny, that GETS NADA got me angry every time šŸ˜”šŸ˜” ahah These are screens I made by myself, if I find other things Iā€™m happy to share, I have a lot of magazines ahah like Kerrang and stuff What a era, I liked it Oh and the re was the Angey Bird thing!!! On Facebook there was the possibility to play with Angry Birds Gren Day versions and if you competed all the level you had the chance to listen to a song from Uno in advance, do you guys remember this? Ahah

  10. i see a common problem people get vaccinated and then think "its over", but you should look behind your personal wall, it is over when we get close to sth like heard immunity, and even then there are places like africa with only 1-2% fully vaccinated i got my second shot yesterday, and for me personally: i am done with covid, now chances are very low for me to get seriously sick but i still need to protect other people i live with, thats why i still stay vigilant, wear a mask where its needed etc

  12. I revisited the glorious days of Green Day Bread on Tumblr earlier today and what can I say? It is still funny and fangirl-worthy af and I'm a little sad this blog isn't updated anymore. (Yes, this is what college students do in their spare time. )

  13. Oh wow you and your friends in your particular area in your particular country are ok so that means everyone in the world is ok! Better tell all the people still getting covid, suffering in hospital with it or dying from it that there's nothing to worry about. Btw does this have anything to do with covid rules at Green Day shows? All I'm seeing is people pointlessly coming to the thread trying to provoke a reaction.

  15. This will always be the era I remember as the one where my daughter discovered Green Day all on her own and we started listening to them together (leading to me rediscovering them on a much deeper level than before). 2013 was her first show.

  16. Taking me back too. I first them on 21CB tour but only started taking part here during Trilogy era. I was abroad on holiday when the whole iheart thing happened and was struggling to get proper WiFi to find out what happened so I have mixed emotions over the era but there are some great songs on those albums.

  34. Wow those screenshots took me back! I have fond memories of the trilogy era too. It was the first era where I was active in GDC and I remember how much fun it was getting excited with other fans about the albums and the upcoming tour. It was also the first time I saw green day live so that concert and time holds a very special place in my heart. Though there were parts of the era that were sad and tough, listening to those albums always takes me back to sitting at my desk at work and quietly freaking out because I scored concert tickets or staying up all night to listen to Uno for the first time. Gives me warm fuzzy feelings.

  38. Just because you want it to be over doesn't mean it is. I don't know if you're just trolling/trying to get a reaction or what. Can we try to get back to covid/vaccine rules at Green Day shows please? Or alternatively if there isn't anything to discuss about that just don't post. Posting that vaccines or masks don't work or that the pandemic is over wouldn't work in the General Chat covid thread and it won't work here either. People aren't going to agree with you so it's just a waste of time.

  39. I do not suffer from any of the things you are struggling with so canā€™t really offer help. However, it sounds like your boys will take good care of you and believe me, it will be worth it! Well done you even getting this far, keep breathing and keep your head and heart up. Good luck and do let us know how you get on if you feel like sharing.

  40. The Trilogy was definitely a different era. Being able to process 37 songs over just a few months from a band that had two huge gaps releasing the 2 albums prior was satisfying. Also just having them make quick 3 minute songs again with the amount of variety they had was really good. The downside was the start of the band's decline and the fall out from the Iheart disaster. It was a bittersweet moment for fans, they went and made all these songs for us but somewhere in the process they also let us down with the experience. Atleast with the current era the let downs are related to a global pandemic outside our control and theirs. The album was short and a bit of a stinker but they came out of the gates in 2019 sounding really good for the first time in forever.

  44. Take breaks and walk around. Once Bohemian Rhapsody starts the euphoria will carry you through. I wear a mask at work for 9 hours straight -- it helps to try and breathe normally even though you want to take deeper breaths. SmartWater + Tranquility with ashwagandha is good for taking the edge off -- driving in cities I'm not familiar with stresses me out and that actually helped. You will be so happy and proud of yourself that you finally saw your favorite band.
