Honestly it was really refreshing to just hear SOMETHING new, even if it technically is something old. I remember thinking while it was happening "damn, Billie could sing the phone book and he'd still sound and look good doing it." The band seemed to have a lot of fun with it, even though I believe Billie was reading the lyrics off a teleprompter. They also included the song in their "hype" video before they came out on stage (along with I Love Rock and Roll by Joan Jett) so it kind of makes sense with the whole theme of the tour. I would love if they covered that song too at some point!8 points

I don't think he looks younger. He's just ageing really well and looking hot š„7 points

If you're comparing death rates between states, you have to take more factors into account than just mask compliance such as population, population density, age structure of the population. The denser a population, the harder it is to socially distance & thus the easier it is for the virus to spread. The older a population, the more vulnerable it is. Population density (obtained from google) New York - 421 p/square mile Florida - 353.4 California - 251.3 Texas - 109.9 Population under 18 (Source: https://www.indexmundi.com/facts/united-states/quick-facts/compare/california.florida) Florida - 19.9% New York - 20.8% California - 22.7% Texas - 25.8% Population 65+ (Same source) Texas - 12.6% California - 14.3% New York - 16.4% Florida - 20.5% Now, based on this, you'd expect New York to have higher death rates due to the dense population & the older population aged 65+. Texas' comparably low population density and younger population means that its death rate shouldn't be equivalent to Florida or California This link (https://www.statista.com/statistics/1109011/coronavirus-covid19-death-rates-us-by-state/) also says that California's death rate is lower than both Texas and Florida which have around 180 deaths per 100,000 people while California has 163 deaths per 100,000 This seems like a perfectly reasonable explanation for why each of these states have had the death rates that they have There are additional factors that need to be addressed i.e. how many people travelling to and from each state, population of surrounding states, homelessness etc.. Because there are so much factors to consider, you cannot say "This state increased mask compliance but cases/deaths still went up while other states that didn't increase mask compliance as much didn't see the same increase in cases/deaths: thus masks don't work" because there can be a ton of reasons why cases may have gone up or down6 points

I see Billie fist bumped the guy the other night. If I got pulled on stage and didnāt get to hug Billie I donāt think Iād ever get over it š I am very glad he is protecting himself though. I think you are right. I saw a post showing Tre and him watching the fireworks and clearly loving them. The person was commenting on how excited he was by them but I think Billie was right when he said the fountain of youth is about never losing your sense of awe or becoming jaded, not taking stuff for granted and not leaning on your laurels. It was at the end of the Time 10 questions for Billie Joe Armstrong, which is awesome by the way if you havenāt seen it. Just annoying you donāt get all the questions on YouTube.5 points

Itās not that hard to wear a mask regardless if you think it helps or notā¦ even if it only helps 0.005% so what? I am vaccinated and I wear a mask because I want this to be over. I do not feel it is not an infringement on my freedom but I think ignoring guidelines and possibly getting someone else sick is a massive infringement on freedom.4 points

Floridaās cases are exploding right now, the most in the nation. 100% of the patients in the ICUs are unvaxxed. Yet watching the livestream last night virtually everyone there was unmasked. Crazy that no one even seems concerned, and I know that audience is not 100% vaxxed4 points

This is true...I have good friends who are very liberal and are choosing not to be vaccinated because they don't trust it and the "deep state", etc...4 points

I don't think it was ever implied at the show I attended that anyone was trying to outshine Green Day, because they know it isn't possible. Before Green Day went on they played like a two-minute hype video. Patrick wore a Green Day hat during their performance, and Pete made comments about how they were influenced by Weezer and Green Day and it was surreal to be on tour with them both... so I think everybody knows where they stand.4 points

I thought he looked great during Revrad too, right until the end when he did something weird with his hair! He needs to be floofy ššš3 points

I like his style in both this era and the Rev Rad era. But most importantly, he looks healthy, and is still siphoning water from the Fountain of Youth.3 points

He looked good during Rev Rad but he lost points for me with the short vests and the shirt with the big stripes. And I think his hair is better this time around. But honestly, I never want to see a short vest on him again.3 points

I like the styling this tour, but I think I prefer RevRad. I like him with floofier hair. My ideal would be to go back to 21CB levels of floof. He still looks fantastic, though!3 points

Youād be surprised. You donāt have to be a right wing conspiracy nut to not get vaccinated. Iāve seen post from fans who are young and arenāt worried and didnāt think they needed it or just canāt be bothered to get their shit together and get it.3 points

I imagine most Green Day fans would be left-leaning at least. Don't think there'd be a lot of anti-vaxxers going to a Green Day show3 points

Green Day opened for Blink 182 and now look at the difference between those two bands. Iām ok with the horror knowing they rule all and will always rule even if theyāre opening for the flavor of the minute. Although at this moment Fall Out Boy have been round for way longer than a hot minute. But seriously: American Idiot - the band is legendary and iconic - they even had that album turn into a musical which is wtf?? And it was performed all over the world. Thatās like skipping stones over galaxies of genres and age groups etc. I love all the GD eras but that record changed their icon status for good.3 points

One of my rare visits here just to say Billie looks hella mega hot on this tour! I'm super happy to watch him on pictures and videos looking so great and healthy on stage. Also, I love the fact that the band didn't keep the total glam rock look the guys had when promoting the album. I guess they had read the comments about how ugly it was. Now they have just a little touch of glam rock fashion, but with a part of past tours fashion. It is perfect like that.2 points

The guy is one of those people who gets better looking the older he gets. And he was always cute as a button. Now over the past several years heās equally parts cute and handsome ā¤ļø heās a good looking person and keeps getting betterā¦ I need to find this Fountain of Youth. I think itās rockānāroll and just enough of a party but not too much. You still need to be able to put in the work for great song writing etc. Ugh. He uses his phone for lyrics and recording ideas even when heās not in his studio. Always working but is it work if you love it and itās so meaningful to yourself and so many others? The Fountain of Youth could be following your heart and your passion. I think when he has the big epic machine that is Green Day and also his solo and side projects to explore and experiment thatās the magic elixir. Please note how incredibly full of life and happy he looked on the Longshot tour right after the Rev Rad tour and all while still working on new stuff youād think maybe heād be wiped out but no he goes and plays a small club tour all over with a brand new band and record. Or maybe Kevin Preston is the Fountain of Youth š Fashion sense and everything.2 points

This has not ever been confirmed. There is not a statistical advantage that proves masks work. Like I said in the height of the pandemic even places that had high mask compliance still saw an extreme spike in infections and death. The percentage of deaths is so close that it doesnāt prove that because this state had a mask mandate it had less than a half percent difference in death as opposed to a state that ended its mask mandate or a state that never had a mask mandate which has the lesser percentage of both. The stats and facts do not support masks. They are literally cosmetic theater for people to post selfieās on Instagram and Facebook and for people to flaunt around in public to make people think that they are a good person. The science on masks from the experts alone hasnāt been consistent. āYou donāt need a mask they wonāt do anything! Covid pathogens are so small that they slip through that mask!ā Then a few weeks later wear a mask! Then as mask compliance goes up across the board in every state by October 2020 cases and deaths still continue to spike and reach their worst point a few months later. Then as cases start to drop the science says we need to wear 2 or 3 masks, vaccinated people still need to wear a mask and then they say vaccinated people donāt need to wear a mask and now weāre back to we need to wear a mask indoors. ThE sCiEnCe ChAnGeS!!! Oh give me a damn break. The science and stats prove that masks do little, and I mean minuscule, to no difference. āBUT IF IT SAVES ONE LIFE!!!ā Great! If you think that then go ahead and wear one if it helps you sleep at night.2 points

You've been making the argument that masks do nothing. We can argue about how effective they are/aren't but you've been saying masks do nothing and it's been proven that they do help reduce the spread. Regardless of how effective they are, it's a good thing to do to wear a mask. The point I was making is that since there are so many factors that can contribute to the total case/death numbers for each state, that you can't just look at mask compliance alone. We don't know what the death rate of New York or California would've been if nobody had been wearing masks but if nobody wore a mask, I'd imagine it'd be a lot higher than it was. The difference of 17 deaths per 100,000 isn't that much. The masks may be more or less effective than that, because there are a number of factors that need to be addressed. But even if the masks were to prevent 1 or 2 extra deaths per 100,000, it'd be worth it to wear the mask to make sure as few people die as possible2 points

Yeah! I love that they're never too concerned about having a cool image to be silly and have fun. You never get that "too cool for the room" vibe from them as a band/performers, they're just natural and genuine and I really think that's what makes them the best. Billie is ho as hell on this tour......I can't believe I have to wait another year to see them š2 points
