Now I have to post my favorite bellie pic. And it's RevRad, but one of my favorite other ones. And can't forget this bellie moment.3 points

anyway, 2014 chubby billie is underrated and he doesn't deserve to be left out3 points

I interpreted the “hint hint” thing as exactly what it sounded like - presents for his big birthday - not as a hint to fans for anything.3 points

I'm always excited for any Green Day content. I really hope this will be a new performance. Great points @pacejunkie punk and @Beerjeezus brought up. I guess it's to be expected that the band's own hype for FOAM has fallen by the way side seeing as it's literally been like 2 years since they were initially supposed to tour. The pandemic just went a fucked everything right up. I hope they can get excited about it once they start playing live shows again as Green Day. Maybe that will light their fires.3 points

Billie's got such a small frame that any kind of weight gain is easy to see on him. Even during the time he was at his heaviest, I would not call him fat. He wasn't thin, but he definitely wasn't fat. He still looked strong and athletic, just had a little bit extra bulk on him that wasn't excessive. This is a good example. He had a little bit of extra weight during RevRad and parts of 21CB too, would you call him fat then? Really anything compared to his ultra thin physique during AI era and Broadway era is going to be noticeable.2 points

Anyone can do this I still don’t get on what basis people think this is Billie2 points

Weezer just added a show of their own In Connecticut August 7, the day before the HM show in DC. Would love it if Green Day would add some amphitheater shows between HM shows on this tour, there are a lot of regions they are missing altogether where there’s no MLB stadium2 points
-
Still, I wonder what the deal with FOAM was... was it ever meant to be played live? Did they just put out whatever so that they could promote the tour? How does Billie feel about it now in hindsight? These are all questions I'd like to get answers to and most likely never will.2 points

Well, I had another one of my losing-my-lesson-plans-while-teaching dreams, but this one turned into a Green Day dream. I was teaching at some school and we were supposed to be having a snow day, but then I heard the school was opening in the afternoon so I was driving down a snowy road and someone was walking down the road wearing a giant Minecraft costume. Then I passed someone else dressed in another Minecraft costume without the head and later passed someone dressed as just the head. Then I arrived at the school and students were already there and I didn’t have my lesson plans. In this dream I had my own office but had to walk down the hall to get there and I saw some giant Minecraft costumes sitting on the floor. Then when I went in my office I found it so packed full of furniture and old toys I could not get to my desk. Someone explained that my parents had become tired of storing my old furniture and other things at their house so they brought it to my place of employment and shoved it in my office. (Note: in real life I have not stored anything at my parents’ house since 1998.) Then the school turned into some big building full of people. In one room a choir was rehearsing and preparing to do a recoding. Suddenly Billie Joe came walking through the crowd and entered the room and said he wanted to sing with the choir. So the director leaned out the door and called to the crowd, “Does anyone know if this guy named Billie Joe Armstrong can sing?” And I ran up to him and said, “Yes! He has the voice of an Angel and is an incredibly talented musician!” The director said, “Ok, then,” and closed the door. My best friend interpreted the dream and said the snowy road and packed office represent obstacles I will need to overcome and Billie Joe represents something wonderful once I pass the obstacles. However, she has no clue what the giant Minecraft costumes are supposed to represent.1 point

I agree with all you guys are saying and I’ll agree Billie doesn’t look 50, but 50 is not that old (yes, I can hear all you young things groaning 😂😂) but he looks great, long may it continue. I think Warning was his heaviest but if it’s true that photos etc put on about 8lbs then he was very slim around AI. He seemed pretty slight to me during 21CB, first time I saw him in real life and Rev rad but sadly, never been that close. We need luck folk to describe his he felt when they hugged him etc! I’ve seen him described as small but pretty well muscled 🤪1 point

Yes. It's the same thing. I didn't really get to see the extent of it because I never searched anything that made me a target, but recently I started watching workout videos because I discovered excersise makes my back stop hurting and now I get ads to the weirdest scams imaginable.... like a diet that basically tells you to starve and go for long walks (lmao no thanks i know what that feels like from hikes i packed too little food for) and the last time I was on youtube I had to watch this five minute ad where they talked about a weight loss excersise program and it was so brainwash-y, like one of those TV scams where they talk people into buying overpriced bullshit... Thankfully I'm enough a narcissist to not let that get to me, but this must be so painful to people who struggle with body image.1 point

Exactly! The ideal male body as it's presented by media is just an unrealistic standard and promo for the fitness industry, while it has little to do with actual physical wellbeing.1 point
-
I guess? Yeah, you're right. Still, if I met a guy who looked like this, I wouldn't really pay attention because every other person looks like that? I mean, when I think about this, I know a guy who's probably even a bit chubbier and if I was describing him, I'd think of other things first, like that he's tall, has a beard and a buzz cut, the way he talks etc. I just think weight isn't nearly as much of a deal as it's made out to be.1 point
-
He didn't seem super thin in pictures from the RevRad era but he looked skinny in person. Not in an unhealthy way, but he was very thin. I don't understand how skinny he had to be during AI and Trilogy.1 point

Heard the track on the radio last week. I was surprised! I'm surprised it even charted. I just thought it was a little something for the fans.1 point
-
I fully expect the next album to have long songs that are going to make me feel good! Even though I think that might have been a bit of a jab at RevRad. It's always interesting to hear his thoughts later, when he's not obliged to hype up the release.1 point
-
It took at least five years to hear what Billie really thought about the trilogy in hindsight I’m guessing we’re not far enough removed from it for honesty. Every album in some way feels like a course correction on the previous one so I’m guessing he’ll be up to talking about it once he’s talking up the next release. He’ll be all “I hate short songs that make you feel bad.” 😄1 point
-
I’ve always thought it will be a greatest hits tour given the other bands and shorter time for GD I’m afraid.1 point
-
Yeah he’s always gonna love that stuff. I was just thinking this may look like a generic hits tour and not a FOAM tour per se, really just taking into account the promo pic and last two singles using new font style and look1 point
-
yeah, green day still should play even if it’s just 1/3 of the band. they were in the promotional stuff as well so a lot of people bought tickets to see them play. kinda disappointing1 point
-
I’ve noticed that promo pic is getting great use this year it’s been the cover art for two singles (HCTS and the basis for the art on the Oakland coffee BBC single) and now for this. I guess they’re done with the flaming red jackets look. I’m not expecting to see any FOAM iconography on this tour at all.1 point

If he looks like that, I'll be happy we are actually getting to see him!1 point
-
That might explain it. I still think it would be cool if they pre-recorded a performance if they can't be there physically.1 point
-
Will he even be there though? If this is in NY and he’s rehearsing in California, why fly out for an interview? The others are performing so they could be there and he could be via webcast.1 point
-
It would be nice to see some Green Day though. It's gonna be weird for BIllie to be there and not play like he's only there to chaperone the little FOB guys.1 point

Oh no it was with The Replacements haha. Bonus from another time he played with them It would be hilarious if he played like that with Green Day though. He did used to play with Green Day looking like this after all1 point

I wish he'd do this with Green Day. He'd blow so many minds. "Wait, who is this guy, we came here to see Green Day! Give us our money back!"1 point

@Todd & @Yosuke Hanamura Sirus XM on the Howard 101 channel has some GD content with Tre. It was done during the GDC down time. Not sure if either one of you have this service to get the goods for us non-satelite radio peoples. Should be linked here: https://player.siriusxm.com/now-playing1 point

I want to like Funko Pops, but have no desire to buy any. Even Green Day can't sell me on this. Mike is talking vaguely about new music so I am here and ready to Theory Post into Oblivion. What is the theory of oblivion? When what you see expands forever now?1 point

I don’t know if anyone listens to the Spotify podcast, Bandsplain but they did an episode on Green Day!1 point
