So while GDC was out last week, it fell on both charts (32 to 33 on Mainstream Rock Airplay and 41 to 44 on Rock and Alternative Airplay). This week it's stayed in the same spot for Mainstream Rock Airplay, has a new peak of 36 for Rock and Alternative Airplay, and has debuted at #40 on the Alternative Airplay chart.

I can’t record it but I did hear it. Nothing very interesting or newsworthy. He talked a little about being interviewed by Howard in the past, setting his drums on fire and some minor injuries from it, the Jones Beach show where they got banned or kicked out for said fire, and more recently about the covid bubble of friends they made, occasionally testing to get together with his bandmates and currently rehearsing and how they are all well rested and it’s like riding a bike. They played a clip from the nineties where Howard raves about Brain Stew like he always does and makes Billie play the intro on his guitar.

I fully expect the next album to have long songs that are going to make me feel good! Even though I think that might have been a bit of a jab at RevRad. It's always interesting to hear his thoughts later, when he's not obliged to hype up the release.

Weezer just added a show of their own In Connecticut August 7, the day before the HM show in DC. Would love it if Green Day would add some amphitheater shows between HM shows on this tour, there are a lot of regions they are missing altogether where there’s no MLB stadium

It took at least five years to hear what Billie really thought about the trilogy in hindsight I’m guessing we’re not far enough removed from it for honesty. Every album in some way feels like a course correction on the previous one so I’m guessing he’ll be up to talking about it once he’s talking up the next release. He’ll be all “I hate short songs that make you feel bad.” 😄

Still, I wonder what the deal with FOAM was... was it ever meant to be played live? Did they just put out whatever so that they could promote the tour? How does Billie feel about it now in hindsight? These are all questions I'd like to get answers to and most likely never will.

Yeah he’s always gonna love that stuff. I was just thinking this may look like a generic hits tour and not a FOAM tour per se, really just taking into account the promo pic and last two singles using new font style and look

Will he even be there though? If this is in NY and he’s rehearsing in California, why fly out for an interview? The others are performing so they could be there and he could be via webcast.

I can't wait to see Billie this Fridayyyyy! I've missed him so much! I'm really hoping he will not have a beard, though. I doubt he will. I think people will be expecting him to be back in rock star mode since it's so close to the tour. GMA's Summer Concert Series is a pretty big deal too so he'll probably be all prettied up for it. I'm as excited as Billie appears to be in this photo.

I had a dream where I jumped 10 years into the future and was a little apprehensive about how Green Day might look when I got there. I was not disappointed, though. Billie actually looked almost exactly the same, and he had gone back to wearing a little more eyeliner. In fact, he looked virtually like he did when they played GMA in 2017. I remember being really excited about this and making a note to report back to the fangirls that Billie will go back to wearing eyeliner and still look very beautiful. It was kind of a strange dream. I kind of thought 'wait, if it's just footage of GD, then how could it be from the future. Maybe this isn't real and it is just from 2017.' I think it wasn't just that, though. I think it was actually the future in the dream.

If you go by what they said during the promotion, this is Green Day’s tour. It was their desire to play a stadium tour and do it like Monsters of Rock. They pitched it to Crush. Mike named it Hella Mega. They invited Weezer and FOB to join it. (Only after they were hired did Weezer record an album of stadium rock to tour on) Green Day were the first to announce it. They headlined Whiskey A GoGo and played a set twice as long as the other bands. This is their tour. Except now when it comes to promotion you wouldn’t know that. Just because Green Day are being incredibly gracious and humble with their supporting bands doesn’t make it any less their tour.

yeah, green day still should play even if it’s just 1/3 of the band. they were in the promotional stuff as well so a lot of people bought tickets to see them play. kinda disappointing

It would be nice to see some Green Day though. It's gonna be weird for BIllie to be there and not play like he's only there to chaperone the little FOB guys.
