  1. Billie Joe will come back when he is ready to come back

  2. I mean, we still have more interaction with them than in the two plus decades prior to 2011 or so. Used to get literally nothing for months and months on end even between the hugely popular American Idiot and its follow up. Didn't mean they weren't still around then and it doesn't now either. Also Billie, Mike and Tre mostly don't even use their individual instagrams for band stuff, they use it for personal things. When it comes to that you're either into doing it or you're not. If he doesn't feel like being on it it's better that he isn't. The alternative would be forcing it/only doing it to fulfill promotional obligations and that would suck anyway.

  4. I've not returned to this track since around the week it came out. That's how little I care about this track and HCTS

  5. I had a dream where I met Tre Cool in Walmart (lol) and I asked for an autograph and he said no :(. I somehow tracked him down at a mall and I asked for a picture and he said “fine!” (This was part of the dream too)

  6. I miss the posts too. He’ll come back when he feels like it. I hope it’s something as great as the Longshot. Figuring that out was a lot of fun. The interactions were amazing. Small private Instagram, small shows, all good. I miss the Billie Joe Instagram and the Longshot Instagram too. Definitely don’t want it forced. I want it to be fun and kind of magical for friends and fans when he posts his funny stuff or cool projects. Can’t really leak secret shows or anything but who knows what will happen. It’ll all happen when it happens but jeez a lot of us are isolated and/or going through a lot because of the pandemic. The posts were a highlight to a shitty day sometimes (always actually no matter how dumb maybe the sillier the better). The posts (especially during the pandemic) were a bright spot for sure. He has a habit of just popping back up with something randomly who knows… let’s hope for the best.

  7. Say what you want but I’m entitled to the way I feel and nothing changes that. There’s a void for me compared to what we’ve gotten used to as normal since they first joined social media in 2012

  8. You’re not alone. It’s drained the energy from the entire fandom. I feel like a follower of a band that’s not around anymore and all I have left is the old stuff.

  10. As someone who saw Billie perform it in person, I can attest to the fact that he was outstanding in that role. He embodied the character so well and absolutely dominated the stage for every scene he was in, outshining everyone else there. Not very surprising seeing as St. Jimmy is a part of him. I would loooove to see a full, professionally recorded performance with Billie. I think that's what we all want. It would be so amazing to relive that.

  11. Seasoned reviewers of Broadway musicals gave him rave reviews and you, or at least I and many others, felt we got a hint of how well he came over in Broadway Idiot, so yes, I do believe he is a great performer, he was very good on Broadway and I want to see a properly recorded performance with him in it. Most of the video footage on YouTube is fairly poor quality.

  12. No, as @Montclare said there are only small, broken up bits of Billie’s performance and we know from all the reviews etc that he totally lit up the stage, I would give my eye teeth to see a full performance from him. @Hermione I can’t believe you haven’t watched it, it’s interesting, entertaining and very fangirl worthy, think you would enjoy it.

  13. Broadway Idiot is great, but there's only a few minutes of Billie's performance in it. I'd love a full video of one of the shows he performed in. I know it doesn't look likely that AI the movie will happen, but who knows where we'll be politically at any given time and place. It'll always be relevant and relatable. Only bad thing is if it ever does happen, Billie will most likely be too old to play St. Jimmy, and that's the main appeal for a lot of people. Just look how the ticket sales went up when he played him on Broadway and then fell when he left.

  14. Hot take (not that it matters at this point): I actually think AI would have been much better suited for a film adaption than a musical, though only the latter was actually done. I think the music video for Jesus Of Suburbia alone kinda confirms that in my view. That being said, I think the film would have had to have been made and released towards then end of the 2000s, early 2010s at the latest. As much as I believe American Idiot, the album, has aged pretty well, I don't think a film adaption would age at all well. That being said, maybe once GD become a full-fledged legacy act, they could then produce a short film related to AI. They'd probably have the budget to do that and might even be able to pull it off fairly well. However, right now, there's less than zero demand for an AI movie.

  15. I know I would survive COVID, God-willing. My concern is the long term effects. Seeing world class athletes still struggling with symptoms half a year later scares me.

  16. I remember getting a bootleg of the show in which KFAD was listed as 'Rex Is My Dog'... Confused the fuck out of me till I realised that whoever made the CD thought BJ sings 'King for a day, rex is my dog' and titled it that!!!

  18. It was really amazing. I think it easily could be one of their best shows from the 90s. It's something that you could go back and watch the whole thing again once in a while, I'll definetly do it!
