  1. Hot take (not that it matters at this point): I actually think AI would have been much better suited for a film adaption than a musical, though only the latter was actually done. I think the music video for Jesus Of Suburbia alone kinda confirms that in my view. That being said, I think the film would have had to have been made and released towards then end of the 2000s, early 2010s at the latest. As much as I believe American Idiot, the album, has aged pretty well, I don't think a film adaption would age at all well. That being said, maybe once GD become a full-fledged legacy act, they could then produce a short film related to AI. They'd probably have the budget to do that and might even be able to pull it off fairly well. However, right now, there's less than zero demand for an AI movie.

  2. It's no surprise that the movie will never happen, but I'm sad they never even released recordings of the actual Broadway musical with Billie. I know there are recordings of other versions and they're great, but they're not the same. I guess they feel it wouldn't be worth the cost of properly releasing it and it probably wouldn't now. It might have been several years ago though. Oh well.

  5. I often find myself listening to Green Day every day, but I mainly listen to their live performances more than I do their studio material, anyone else do that? I mostly listen to my favorite concert they did, Reading 2013. I really hope when they get back to doing concerts, they'll play more stuff from Revolution Radio or Father Of All, even. I'd like to see a live performance of "Sugar Youth" or "I Was A Teenage Teenager" at some point.

  6. The GDA site is broken (not on our end) so nothing can be posted currently, hoping it'll be fixed soon. GDC is still working fine though.

  7. I am actually going to film an American Idiot film. I'm thinking to avoid copyright yada yada, I'm going to call my film United States Stupid Dude and maybe the girl will be imaginary and my....I mean Jimbo's split personality will be real.

  8. Broadway Idiot is great, but there's only a few minutes of Billie's performance in it. I'd love a full video of one of the shows he performed in. I know it doesn't look likely that AI the movie will happen, but who knows where we'll be politically at any given time and place. It'll always be relevant and relatable. Only bad thing is if it ever does happen, Billie will most likely be too old to play St. Jimmy, and that's the main appeal for a lot of people. Just look how the ticket sales went up when he played him on Broadway and then fell when he left.

  10. Sorry to rain on the parade, but CPR doesn't require mouth-to-mouth anymore and just kind of wastes time in a way. Chest compressions alone are the most efficient use of time in a situation where it's needed because they pump the lungs as well as the heart. Still, it's optional. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't thinking about mentioning that I know CPR, though. At least that would be up close and personal with Billie, mouth-to-mouth or not. Not the best circumstances to meet him under, however.

  12. There was one on YouTube back then (someone recorded it with a secret camera in their hat!) but it got taken down really quickly. I always think someone must still have it but... I don't know if it will ever surface again sadly

  15. I was taught only those officially trained in CPR are advised to include the mouth-to-mouth between chest compressions. I did the training a few months ago so I'm good . But if he was passed out but still breathing you'd just put him in the recovery position anyway

  18. Gosh darn it, you guys. I'm making this myself. Keep in mind, Tom Hanks has a net worth equivalent of 10 years salary for me, so...... This is going to be a total Z-Movie. Maybe Y if I work hard at it, but I won't. Also, I'm playing all the parts. except one of the two that are the same person, I want it to be confusing as heck. That Dude Presents: American Idiot. Coming Soon. *fine print voice* Prices and participation may vary. "soon" is variable. see retailer for details. please don't.

  21. Jason Freese and family in premier episode tonight of Christina On the coast on HGTV at 9pm PST In the season premiere, Christina meets a musician and his wife, who has a strong sentimental attachment to their Spanish-style home where she grew up. The property is in desperate need of a design facelift, specifically the cramped kitchen. To maximize the space for this young family, Christina extends the kitchen into an unused living area, adding tons of cabinets, a statement backsplash and reclaimed wood trim on the vent hood and large island that incorporate their desired modern hacienda vibe. https://www.hgtv.com/shows/christina-on-the-coast/articles/new-episodes-of-christina-on-the-coast-coming-to-hgtv-in-expanded-season-three These Eric Cartman-style covers of Green Day and Linkin Park are just as awesome as they sound https://www.loudersound.com/news/these-eric-cartman-style-covers-of-green-day-and-linkin-park-are-just-as-awesome-as-they-sound Love Letter To A Record: Clowns On Green Day’s ‘Dookie’ In this Love Letter To A Record series, Music Feeds asks artists to reflect on their relationship with music and share with us stories about the effect music has had on their lives. https://musicfeeds.com.au/features/love-letter-to-a-record-11/ Late night co-host Dave Grohl shares relatable story about finding his mom drinking with Green Day This humanizing story (who among us has not caught our parents cracking cold ones with the pop-punk stars of old?) was brought up as Grohl discussed his new TV show, From Cradle To Stage. Grohl says that when his mom, Virginia Hanlon Grohl, had just retired after decades of teaching public school, he wanted to spend her free time in nontraditional ways and he ended up inviting her to hit the road with him. “And she started going on tour with me,” Grohl says. “I gave her a laminate and she would just go and hang out. I’d be onstage playing and then get offstage and be like, ‘Where’s my mom?’ and,” he explains, “She’d be drinking beers with Green Day upstairs and hanging out.” Grohl also says that Virginia’s experience on tour made her wonder where all the other pop star moms were—presumably when Billie Joe Armstrong swore and needed to be reprimanded by a responsible adult. To answer this question, she interviewed the parents of other famous musicians and wrote the book that the From Cradle To Stage show is based on. https://www.avclub.com/late-night-co-host-dave-grohl-shares-relatable-story-ab-1846963276 Serena Williams’ French Open 2021 Outfit and Green Day Inspired Sneakers Most significantly, the eye-candy feature of Serena’s outfit is her shoes.
