  4. I remember for the Longshot shows at the Golden Bull there were two large fans on either side of the stage but it didn't look like they were doing much good. Billie was still completely drenched in sweat, like even more than usual. Not sure why he refuses to wear short sleeved shirts when performing, especially for summer shows

  7. I think this is why they keep it fairly vague in the credits as well, "Lyrics - BJA, Music - Green Day".

  8. I’m not sure where exactly to post this and don’t know if it was shared on any of the topics before because it was orignally posted in 18th April this year but, I have just come across it through Instagram tonight. So, I still wanted to share it, if someone would want to check out: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10216604349135364&id=1658629774

  12. Really happy that went well for you @Slave To The Network, completely understand how you want your close friends to have at least some idea of something important to you.

  13. I should not let the silliness take control, apologies @That Dude, hope I haven’t derailed your slumber! I love @Beerjeezus “twink demon” (do we all have the same picture in our minds….) and can imagine the Google stats people pondering the sudden upswing in searches for incubus and succubus, bet they won’t even be close to why! 😂😂

  14. So some of you may know that I was planning to go on a trip with a couple of friends and wanted to play "Welcome To My Panic" for them so they could get to know Billie and develop an appreciation for him as a person and for Green Day - kind of come to understand just why I admire him so much. I was very anxious about the prospect of it, because I was worried they wouldn't be interested or would find it boring etc. I was especially apprehensive about the one who's never really cared for them, said it sounded like the same song over and over when I played stuff on previous trips, is reminded of high school so has a negative association and whatnot. WELL! I played it for them and they both really enjoyed it and now think Billie has a really interesting life story and is a cool person. They actually want to listen to some more Green Day music now that they have this new perspective! It went as well as I could have hoped for and it makes me so happy that they can understand better now why Green Day and Billie mean so much to me and are such an important part of my life. It literally made the whole trip for me right at the beginning (4 hour drive so we had plenty of time for the podcast). Everything else, like having fun and getting away from everything and spending time with my best friends is just icing on the cake. We're going to listen to the whole AI album at some point (probably the drive home) and I'm going to find some funny GD videos to show them. I know I wrote kind of a lot, but it you got through all of it, I appreciate you. Here are some Billies as thanks.

  16. Pretty good track. After a few spins I get a bit of a throwback "Poprocks and Coke" vibe. Catchy, optimistic and fun song...

  17. I think , just going from what they’d said in interviews etc, that it varies. I know Tre has said that sometimes Billie comes in with the song almost fully formed and his work is largely done for him due to Billie being such a good drummer himself but we also know they have brought things, e.g, famously Longview bass line and Billie has gone from there. I can hardly believe there could be a hard and fast rule, more like a general trend.

  18. Still tickets up in the rafters showing on the MLB page for Wrigley. Looks like I'll have to buy a way too expensive pit ticket on Stubhub. Thank god for stimulus money.

  19. I know I would survive COVID, God-willing. My concern is the long term effects. Seeing world class athletes still struggling with symptoms half a year later scares me.

  20. Yeah it's definitely made me hesitant to plan trips or travel to shows where I'm making a much bigger investment. I'm starting with local shows I'm comfortable with that. I trust that the vaccine is that good and the dropping case numbers where I am supports that. We'll see about boosters when the winter comes.

  21. Yeah, I'm not really scared of getting COVID though maybe I should be, because nobody actually knows how long these vaccines will last and whether we need a booster. But regardless, I totally understand people feeling scared, especially since it was drilled into our heads for so long to be fearful of everything. For stuff to suddenly just be "OK" isn't a change that'll happen overnight. For me it's this looming anxiety that no plans I have will ever work out ever again and a dread that nothing will ever really be "normal" again. I've been told we're going to get to go back to our office at work 3 different times now and it keeps getting postponed. Concerts keep getting "rescheduled" and postponed. It's exhausting.

  22. Just bought a ticket for The Struts in September. Seems like a normal GA show with no restrictions. I'm excited that shows are back and bands can tour again. Musicians and venues have been hit so hard by this it feels really good.

  23. I feel you on that. I'm still scared of getting it. Some residual trauma we all have I suppose. I guess we'll know in a month or so if re-opening was appropriate or not.

  24. So this is officially the only show that I had lined up for this year that hasn't been postponed to either the fall or next year. I'm still feeling kind of nervous/skeptical... even though I don't see why anything would prohibit it from happening, when there won't be any restrictions in place. I went to a brewery this weekend and didn't even have to wear a mask! It's like, shit's starting to feel "normal" again but I really don't believe it's real.

  25. I didn't mind it the first time, then I hated it but now it has grown on me some. I think the song itself is pretty good, but not crazy about the vocal. Kinda like a generic version of the long shot, but it's a decent listen every now and then

  26. Am I a bad fan then? I've only listened to it once so far. 😅

  27. its a grower you need to listen the song more, its a great song!

  28. I agree with everyone saying it's kind of bland and samey. After my first listen I had forgotten what it sounded like and there really weren't any melodies that stuck with me. There is no signature "Green Day punch" to this song. Meh.

  30. Perhaps there will be a gnarley song to balance things out. Don't wanna be a pollyanna idiot. I'm just the son of rage Losing everyone around me I'm suffocating instead of still breathing and it wasn't Jimmy who pulled the trigger / it was me Nobody likes you / or me and we're all nimrods From the middle east to the moon and back There's no hope / and no slack Vanny and Tunny said all is lost for now / but their inside their own coffins and the universe is burning and lost. Kerplow! You're either dead or dying / nothing left to try or believe and / Light you f-ing money and positions on fire / then put yourself on the funeral pyre. Yes. Dark Green Day sounds good.
