I wish your dream became a reality. I'd give so much to see a show with just GD! I had a dream the other night where I was talking to my coworker and she said she didn't really like GD that much (not true) and I said something like "Oh, I bet I could find something by them that you'll like. There's a Green Day song for everyone." It must be true though. They're so varied in style and sound that even someone who doesn't care for them overall can probably find at least a handful of songs that they can enjoy. Plus they're just genuinely excellent musicians.3 points

I watch Fallon last night and was cracking up at Dave. He's a natural on TV. Same! I'm bummed Ollie isn't in it (but I also don't pay for NBC+ or whatever called that this show is streaming on).2 points

On a different note, Boomhauer kinda looks a little bit like Mike. That occurred to me as I was watching KOTH tonight.2 points

Devi's Kind has been popping up a lot on my shuffle and I always forget how much it slaps. To think we had to bully Billie to get him to release it.1 point

All right, after listening to the song a whopping two times, I can say I like it, but it's nothing amazing. As others have said, it's kind of bland and generic, but it's pretty catchy and miles better than HCTS. out of the two songs, this is the one I want to hear again. And as cliche as the overall message is, I really love it. Coming out of a pandemic and with everyone struggling, it's an uplifting message we need to hear right now. Listening to it makes my heart feel warm ^_^ I just love how positive and upbeat it is. I think it'll grow on me over time. And while it's nothing phenomenal - it doesn't hit me like any of their other songs - it made me happy. Not only is it positive, it felt like a much needed gift from the boys. And for the small group of friends who have been keeping count, yes the song premiered when I was hanging out with my bf He's a keeper. Confirmed.1 point

Caught the ending of Snoop Doggโs episode just now on MTV Classic, so it seems like all the episodes will repeat at some point.1 point

I can get your feelings too even though now I started a new page but I know that it's more than a fan page and even it becomes more than just the things that about the band at some point. I said that before but for me the most important thing was the whole connection I had there but I believe that I started to get something similar again quickly with my new page and my old one was very new considering to many of you but ofc I worked hard on it too cause like I had more than one thousand posts which was a lot for a 6 months page imo. Also, I didn't really want to say that but the most special thing that I will probably never get back was the messages I sent Billie and were seen by him at some point, he was also still following my page till he deactivated his account but that doesn't really matter for me,the thing was more important was that whole period of time when I sent those messages and then he saw them and other things were really special for me, again it was not just about him but my mental state at that time and all the other things makes it that special actually. It's some of those things that I lost and maybe cannot ever get again even though I believe that I will have some other special times on my new page as well. So, if I didn't have those stuff, maybe I could move on more easily but trust me still I cannot help but think about it. So, yeah I still wanna try everything to get it back even though I don't even know if mine was deleted completely too at this point or not but when I have more time in a few weeks, I will try my best to figure out and try some ways and work on that eventually, I would also want to help others as well, I believe we can do this togeher.1 point

Okay, I've got it! Green Day 14 should sound like 97% AC/DC and 3% The Who. The cover should have flowers on it, and vocal harmonies from Mike Dirnt on every track.1 point

seeing the thread go back and forth on what the point of discussing this is, my two cents is that whether you like the newest stuff or not, I'd say everyone's commenting because Green Day's music was or is important to them. Personally, after devouring every GD album as a teenager, my tastes changed around the time RevRad came out and I while I like to keep tabs on the band, I'm not really up to date with the music anymore. But even though I've fallen off the bandwagon a bit, I will always respect the fact that Green Day makes whatever kind of music they want to make. IMO, the only creative death an artist can have is when they stop making things for themselves and start making things just to please other people. And even if I can't follow along anymore, I'm glad to see the band still doing them. As for talking about it here, idk if you're gonna discuss your reaction to new music whether it's positive or negative, this would be the place to do it.1 point

Perhaps there will be a gnarley song to balance things out. Don't wanna be a pollyanna idiot. I'm just the son of rage Losing everyone around me I'm suffocating instead of still breathing and it wasn't Jimmy who pulled the trigger / it was me Nobody likes you / or me and we're all nimrods From the middle east to the moon and back There's no hope / and no slack Vanny and Tunny said all is lost for now / but their inside their own coffins and the universe is burning and lost. Kerplow! You're either dead or dying / nothing left to try or believe and / Light you f-ing money and positions on fire / then put yourself on the funeral pyre. Yes. Dark Green Day sounds good.1 point

Yeah, you're right. He does look pretty pissed off. Still a sexy stare, though, so I'll take it! And dammit, Billie! Why won't you just let yourself be free?? Even at those shows where he is literally soaked through with sweat and probably miserable as hell from the heat he, refuses to take off his shirt. What a prude.1 point

Why were there no comments on this until me? I guess they just now allowed them, so I got the first one! I'm cool now! Anyway, this is for anyone that needs to hear this right now. Enjoy. - Chris, the lonely commenter.1 point

I guess people of GDA want to have an actual say in what Green Day do. I just want them to drastically change their hairstyles, frequently. The music stuff is good how it is.1 point

๐ Right? Which is proof we should never listen to a thing he says, heโs full of shit most of the time. What I like is that this song takes us back to the Longshot power pop sound he loves and is so naturally good at. To me it sounds like Green Day again already. I think they tried something different for FOAM, got it out of their system and are done. I doubt they intend to revisit that sound. But just like Green Day popularized punk when everyone said it was impossible, I think he really wants to do the same for power pop. He called it the best music that no one listens to which makes it similar to punk in that way. Theyโre never going to do another rock opera, concept record or repeat their successes of the past, but maybe they have a shot at popularizing an under appreciated genre again? I think he would love to bring power pop to the masses and do for the genre what he did for punk.1 point

How can you compare this lazy uninteresting song to the beast like 21st CB? It's literally not even remotely similar in anything and I'm confused why so many people here think that. If I had to pick the best album since 21st CB I'd choose Love is for Losers or Money Money 2020 Pt II. They're not GD albums but since Billie and GD made them I consider them Green Day material.1 point

"Pollyanna" may just be the best Green Day album since 21st Century Breakdown. Through these past few years, the music's been pretty mediocre. Despite mediocre lyrics. it brings back some solid GD vibes. Could this be an indication of things to come? Let's hope so.0 points
