  4. Truuuuuuuue! Haushinka is a fucking gem! The harmonies on that song make me melt every time I hear it. The drumming is outstanding too.

  5. You'd understand the context if you watch the episode. Thank you @Beerjeezus for the side by side comparison, but I have to agree with @The Grohl on this one. 😂 Billie has a flat ass for sure, but he's got a little more substance than Hank Hill. Anywayyyyy, my coworker called her cat a prima donna today and guess who I thought of!

  6. Me too! That's one of the top things I miss most about early GD. I love their harmonies so much! That's definitely something that needs to come back.

  9. A little thread so people can have a place to share random thoughts that don't really fit anywhere else or warrant their own thread. I'll start. I watched Reading 2013 again tonight for some reason. It was just a suggested video on YouTube, so I put on my headphones and turned it up. God I loved it. Stop When The Red Lights Flash is amazing live. And Billie's vocals on Brutal Love, especially the high part on "Something for my troubled mind", it's just spot on. I watched that part over like 5 times. Watching them perform this mish-mash of songs from their entire career, then throwing in the entirety of Dookie in the middle of it at all, really just reminded me how great their music is. It's nice to be reminded from time to time that you can watch a 2 hour concert of theirs and just fall into the music. Start trying to analyze the songs and how you interpret them, or try to understand what Billie was thinking when he wrote them. There's not a lot of music out there that I really fall into like that. I like catchy tunes, songs that I sing along with and have good melody, but it's very rare for me to really admire a song enough to want to analyze it. So that was the past 2 hours watching this concert. I have all these random thoughts going through my head while watching. "Fuck they sound good." "It's amazing how much sound and energy can be brought on the stage by 3 guys who grew up together". "Fuck what am I doing with my life, I want to bring something positive like that to lots of people". "They need more fast songs like Stop When The Red Lights Flash, that should have been a single. They should have played it on Letterman. It would have been huge." And many many many more thoughts. So feel free to leave your random Green Day thoughts here and we'll see where this goes.

  10. As much as that setlist would rock, I am expecting something much lamer.

  11. Thank you for not. You didn't even need to bring that up. It's a given that he's a child here.

  15. the revrad tour setlist had some nice cuts / surprises as for hella mega, i expect a pretty "standard" setlist (unfortunately) many "classics/popular" songs i am sure they will play foam(song) and oh yeah, and maybe another song out of foam (fingers crossed for sugar youth or graffitia)

  16. Many outdoor venues have 11:00 curfews I think GD will play from about 9:30 to 11.

  17. Super excited for this tour to start even though there's yet another year to wait for the Europe leg! There are so many things that I'm wondering about right now: what will be on the setlists; how long will each band get; how will the pandemic affect the tour (not convinced fans will be brought up on stage); will there be a support act for the Europe gigs (I hope not as I want more GD); will there be any live streams; will Billie return to social media for the tour; will Kevin do both legs of the tour (please may my last 3 questions happen).

  18. I enjoy Butch Walker's production, and I like their new sound. As I said earlier, it feels like a mix between Trilogy and 21CB/RevRad. The songs themselves in FOAM is a different topic for discussion (Billie's falsetto, etc.), but come on - in the end, when the song is good, I think that Walker's influence is positive. So, it comes down to what Green Day will have for the next album musically and lyrically.

  21. That's true. Tré literally said in an interview that clapping is a free instrument and everyone has it.

  22. For the guitarists on GDA. There's a few version out there, but this one sounds best for my guitar and I. While I'm playing this on acoustic, I can't help but think this would have been a better song if it were acoustic. Hmmm. Time to pull out the electric guitars and see what's up. https://guitartwitt.com/green-day-pollyanna-chords/

  27. When you're watching a King of the Hill episode where Hank Hill is told by a doctor that his back problem is because he has no ass and you immediately think of Billie.

  28. Green Day have said and done a lot of outrageous stuff over the years, but it was hotdog with too much mustard that got them cancelled.

  29. It was used as a stock image after Green Day commissioned it for the album cover. There was a whole making of the album cover, burning the radio etc. on Instagram I think

  31. I don't love it but don't hate it either. It's catchy and upbeat. But why do so many of his lyrics sound like they're made with a random Green Day lyrics generator anymore? Rainy days and razor blades Hurricanes and headlines Open roads and traffic lights

  32. ONE MINUTE in and I knew that this is, and always will be the band’s best song in their entire career. Just proves how Serj Tankian from Slipknot is one of the greatest songwriters of our time.
