I made a new gif the other night because I thought the way Billie looks at the camera after SB on Colbert is very cute! Love the eyebrow raise at the end of it.8 points

Hey guys, I'm wondering if anyone here has ever seen this video. As of now, I'm assuming it's lost media because I have never come across this before. Browsing through the archives on GreenDay.net, I found two mentions and a dozen stills of Green Day's appearance on MTV's Select, filmed at MTV Europe studios while they were in the UK. There are no relevant results that I could find on Google. I'm assuming it was just an interview about the Minority music video, not a performance. I thought I'd share this here, hoping someone might have more information on this or even have a copy on tape somewhere.5 points

Agreed. When I think of legacy acts, I think of bands who tour solely on their names, like Fleetwood Mac, Guns & Roses, etc, without putting out any new material. Or like the Rolling Stones, who put out new material, but it doesn't chart well. People are at their concerts solely because of their past work. Plenty of casual GD fans might only go to their shows for this reason, but plenty of people were singing Bang Bang and Still Breathing right along with all of the hits during the RevRad tour. And RevRad charted #1, FOAM #4, with the singles doing well on the rock charts, so people are still interested in their current work.3 points

I said that but I don't mean it in a negative way or that they're just a legacy act. I mean they're well established enough as a legendary band and as a quality live act that they can still play large shows and headline etc even if they don't have a successful album (or any album at all) out at the time.3 points

Was googling the lyrics to Hold On. And here I thought it was Look for Love that started Billie's career.2 points

New York just made changes to the capacity rules for Citi Field, where the concert is. Starting May 19th, they will have different seating for vaccinated and unvaccinated people. For vaccinated, seating is normal, pre covid seating, masks required. For umvaccinated people, it is 33% capacity. So the only way the concert will happen this year is if all tickets are refunded and tickets go on sale again. I honestly don't see how that us feasible, so ticketmaster please give me my money back.2 points

The two bits in bold aren't mutually exclusive. Obviously a legacy band is popular otherwise they wouldn't have a legacy, it's just now the band are headlining based solely upon their established career rather than what they're currently putting out. There's nothing wrong with it, it happens to every big band. You can say the same about bands like Metallica and Foo Fighters too (although their current material is a lot better). They've almost certainly peaked, now they're just relaxing and doing what they want. Let's not pretend they're there based on any current hype tho. Hope the guys get booked in for more summer festivals, would be a good booking for Reading next year.2 points

It really makes me happy that GD are still headliners at all the festivals they play. I've read some people saying that they're now considered a "legacy act", but in my opinion, that is absolutely not true. They are still an insanely popular, hard working, and creative band that people love to see live. Maybe the last record wasn't as well received as others, but I know there will be one again that is universally loved. That's just what Green Day does. They make music outstanding music that they are genuinely passionate about, regardless of popularity, and play some of the best live shows in the world. I just really hope they'll make the right decision about these upcoming dates to keep themselves and their fans as safe and comfortable as possible. 2022 sounds like a great time to get back into things. Can't wait to see footage from Rock Am Ring next year!2 points

Thank you for posting this! I hadn't heard the instrumentals came out. I've always said it would be a good song without the vocals (Lady Cobra's anyway, I'm fine with Billie's) and wanted to hear the "song behind the song". Link for anyone who might not have heard it.1 point

I've been getting mail in 5 different installments from "The Network". I think my postman is getting suspicious of me! Also, I've been lost in the lyric book for days! Love it. Did you notice the "Do you see Kyle?" in the comic?1 point

"Angel Blue" and "Sweet 16" are among my favorite songs from the band's catalogue.1 point

"Here is another VHS tape that I inherited from Jason Ross. The audio levels were so low on this one that I cranked it up to the max volume in Sony Vegas (+12db) and it was still inaudible, so I rendered a video track and boosted volume and dehissed in izotope. Odd video, where you see the crowd better than the performers. I don't think I have ever seen a CM video outside of the east bay/sacramento area. This might be the only video document of that US tour with Billie Joe from Green Day on guitar"1 point

Here's the thread in the download section with setlist & source info. Billie is on the far right. It's not worth watching unless you really like Corrupted Morals, it's hard to see any of the band members, and Billie's furthest from the camera.1 point

german Rock am Ring and Rock im Park festival just announced the first part of their 2022 line-up, as expected, GD will be one of the headliners1 point

AAAAHHHHH! Look what showed up! Here are all of the cards for those who didn't order them and want to see them (quality is better if you enlarge the images)! Looks like Fink and The Snoo have the exact same stats. I wonder what's up with that. And why is Van Gough so fucking fast?! For anyone wondering, I added all their stats and Fink, Snoo, and Van are all tied at 27.5. Balducci is next at 26, Z is 25.5, and Captain Underpants is the weakest at a measly 22. What do these stats even mean? Who the hell knows. Fun fact: Snoo's card has a typo on it. It says "...entertained dozens though the years..." when it should say through.1 point

The FOD is the same circuit. I dont own the FOD but I have used both side by side. The only real difference is that the FOD has a switch for a Mid Scoop, Flat or Mid Boost. The DD only had Mid scoop and flat options via a button rather than the switch.1 point
