Oh no itβs spreading https://www.radio.com/music/rock/is-billie-joe-armstrong-running-for-president A part of me wants this to catch on, because it would be funny, but at the same time Iβm thinking βoh no everybody is going to think Billie is a total buffoon againβ5 points

I was curious about the address, so I googled it. It's a car dealership (Chevy/GM). π€£π Oh man... Yahoo news got PLAYED!5 points

I can't explain how much love I have for this record, I fall in love with it at each new listen. This is a underrated masterpiece, so glad it got this re-release5 points

They should have put Mike Dirnt as his Vice and then accuse BJA of colluding with Putin.4 points

You'll have to put Billie in a coffin before you bury him. That's the only way he's leaving Green Day.4 points

Ah yes, the Insomniac. Like a fine wine, gets better with age.3 points

Well that was fun waiting for this to appear at midnight. I started to listen on Spotify and then eight videos popped up on YouTube. Watched all those instead so rad!3 points

This is why we need him back on Instagram. He would totally have shared this and had a laugh with us about it. π’3 points

Digital sounds great. I definitely notice a bit more separation between the instruments with the remaster. Excited for the vinyl.3 points

ironic for a statement like this to come from Eric, GDC's resident complainer2 points

I'm surprised at how much of a noticeable difference there is in the remaster. The bass definitely stands out way more and the guitars feel less in your face.2 points

They uploaded videos of Prague 1996 on their Youtube. Playlist: Digital Insomniac 25th Deluxe Version is now on Spotify/Apple Music and for sale on Amazon and iTunes. https://music.apple.com/album/insomniac-25th-anniversary-deluxe-edition/1557550800 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08YCX4QY7/ref=dm_ws_sp_ps_dp2 points

Cool! I assume this means the Prague tracks will also be on Spotify π Some photos of the inner sleeve here with some great unseen pics https://www.instagram.com/p/CMiyIn3JqIs/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link2 points

I was waiting for that picture! @ the people who are worried about him falling out, the window is not open (you can see the reflections of the room in the glass). He's an idiot, but a safe one. He could fall backwards, but probably wouldn't hurt himself too bad. He'd just look like an even bigger jackass than usual. That's why we love him.2 points

Around the time they announced that 2008 tour, they announced they recruited Kevin as a touring member, and that he had nothing to do with the actual recording of the album. It was Billie and Jason who did all the guitars. I canβt remember if it was a press release, a MySpace bulletin or whatever, or if itβs still online somewhere, but I swear I vividly remember reading them say that at the time1 point

Sorry, I wasn't disputing what you said and didn't mean to sound offhand. If anything I'm criticising people who, in my opinion, have knowingly and deliberately jumped the line. Maybe I'll have a few less FB friends tomorrow if they see this Anyway I'm off topic. I don't think this pic of Tre and Sara has been posted before https://www.instagram.com/p/CMifCbtnAYH/?igshid=t7qw5ognugqk1 point

Yeah everything being cancelled has put a damper on things. I'm sure they will tour again as soon as possible though so hopefully you'll get to see them. Here Comes the Shock is probably a leftover from FOAM and picked because it's catchy etc for the NHL promotion rather than meant to be their greatest work. The Network album is awesome and they're always awesome when playing live so I'm sure there's more good stuff yet to come.1 point

I'm not crazy about the first Network album either tbf but the new one just has way too much filler and seems likes there's only about 6 or 7 tracks that I can understand why they exist and why people like them. Most of the tracks I see no justification for their existence. And even a lot of the better tracks aren't tracks that I see myself coming back to much at all EDIT: Maybe that's slightly unfair since the lyrical content here is actually okay for the most part1 point
-
Yeah because when MM2020 Pt2 came out you only said it one time that you didn't like it.1 point

The best comments under this song on Youtube: I feel like thisβs a Nickelodeon show theme song The song is so bad that the band didn't even bother showing up for the video. This sounds like an auto generated Green Day song So true π omg this song is bad.1 point

Well I don't think we're gonna agree on any of this. The quote also implies that Warning is your 2nd least favourite GD album and again, I completely disagree with that. Both Warning and RevRad have some of Green Day's best songs imo. And I'd definitely disagree that FOAMF is a return to form cause that's my least favourite of their albums I acknowledge that RevRad was a bit too safe to me but it still had great songs imo and not really any bad songs. Forever Now is definitely a sort of remaking of JoS so it's not their most creative track but I still really enjoy that track. The reprise of Somewhere Now is not just reusing a song out of laziness. I mean for the 21CB album they re-used Song of the Century at the start of American Eulogy (with different lyrics), and reused the intro to 21CB in See the Light and I liked those callbacks to the start of the album. I like the trilogy too but idk if you can really complain about RevRad's lyrics but not the trilogy lyrics. Or FOAM lyrics. I mean "I Was A Teenage Teenager"?1 point
