When the unbelievably long zoom meeting you're in makes you think of Billie because of the 8,000 times the person conducting it says "ya know".4 points

This sounds interesting... I might just have to do the dang free trial thing. I'm hoping someone will rip it and upload it here as well.3 points

I love American Eulogy and it was amazing live too. The 21st Century Breakdown Tour was the best3 points

Vienna concert will take place on June, 9th. No chance. Again: No chance at all that this concert is going to be happen. Austria is far away from stable conditions...3 points

This would DEFINITELY be super super generic and hit-centric considering the audience3 points

That's so funny I just watched this last night. I was missing trilogy stuff and hadn't seen it in a while. I want to see those full shows from Tiki Bar, Red 7 and Webster Hall. Some extra tracks would have made great bonus footage. It really looked like they had a lot of fun making those records, and the fact that they played all these unreleased songs live for the first time since they used to in the early nineties was really cool I would love for them to do that again (or do anything interesting really beyond just a greatest hits show). It seems all their shows are greatest hits shows these days.3 points

I'm glad to see Green Day along current headliners like Billie Eilish and Tame Impala rather then Blink 182 and other 00s act3 points

Me reading this quickly, "$295, that's not that bad... Oh, there's another 9 in there."3 points

We can buy the ALL-IN tickets for only $2995 + Fees 😂3 points

Same. if i have to choose 3 songs to talk about their caeer, a mini-anthology of sorts, i would choose: basket case - jesus of suburbia - Forever now. Without even doubting.2 points

Thank you, because even if I do the free trial to listen once I know I’m gonna want to keep this to listen to again and again (if it’s anything like the Beyond and Back podcast he did which was excellent)2 points

It's like the Zane Low interview he did one time where he said the next album would be called Laugh at My Pain 😄2 points

Wasn't there a pretty strict no phones/cameras policy at those shows? Of course, GD themselves may have recorded them. I remember at the time following people on Twitter who were providing updates about what was being played! The Red 7 recording (again if memory serves me correctly) was recorded in an alley next to the club by people unable to get a ticket! When we visited Texas in 2017 we made a point of stopping by Red 7 for a photo! I'll have to see if I can find it. About Cuatro I always think it's a shame so much was cut out of it for the official release. At the premier I think it was 2+ hours2 points

@foxborohottub have you guys made any progress with Instagram? It seems like none of us have had any luck. Also just wanted to say thank you again for helping us out with this. We know that you're busy, and I know for a fact that it truly means so much to all of us.2 points

I feel obligated to say: so much better lineup than Hella Mega.2 points

Honestly at this point I just want to see what look like the FOAM era setlist for Green Day during a full show.2 points

Watch it be just a hologram of them playing.2 points

I’m glad to hear they’re optimistic, but I’m also a bit annoyed that we got an announcement about a NEW show before we get confirmation of what’s going on with the old shows. Unfortunately I’d bet we’re going to be seeing this for a lot of events for a while with such increased demand and (I assume) a smaller number of tickets to keep things spread out.2 points

They're performing on September 17th, let's go! Right after this pandemic we will see Green Day everywhere. Be prepared folks.2 points

I share your sentiment. Forever now is indeed their best song. Perfect mix of song writting maturity ( i mean he even said his name at the start lol) aknowleding his failures and being completely honest so is in the same vein of his best work. Regading to the song.. perfect lenght, love the 3 simultanous voices superimposed. Great instrumental showmanship (specially live). And talking about live, man the energy. That was the way lol but well we have foam and a shark now yay1 point

He means the football field. When Little Mix played at Huddersfield a few years ago the pitch (field/grass) was ruined by the concert, especially where the stage had been. This is why the concerts can't be moved to another time in the year at the UK venues as the stadiums need time to prepare for the football season.1 point

I'm gonna subscribe for 30 days but I don't know how to share anything lol I'm gonna Twitch it 😂1 point

It was on my recommended video on YouTube this week. I watched it and then watched Green Day: The Early Years right after ahah1 point

I watched ¡Cuatro! today and I feel happy about it. Such a great documentary from one of the most exciting eras they've had. Hopefully one day they will release unreleased songs and other B-sides that didn't make the cut (assuming Billie Joe really had 65 songs). Only thing I heavily dislike about ¡Cuatro! is that they added 2 different Wow! That's Loud perfomances (Tiki Bar and Red 7) but not a single second of its solo. Considering they never perfomed the song after those secret shows ( ), I'd love to see some solo footage. Oh well.1 point

Hm, birthday present is a trip to somewhere outside UK to see GD but don’t love Vegas and not bothered about the rest so think I’ll keep it in the bank for now.1 point

Taken from the Green Day section of the festivals site: “On June 13th, 2020 Green Day will embark on a global stadium tour, The Hella Mega Tour presented by Harley-Davidson, with Fall Out Boy and Weezer.” Bloody hell, surely they can check things before copy and pasting randomly 😂1 point

A 3-day festival that was supposed to happen near me the same week as the show I was going to for this tour just got moved to September a few days ago. I don’t think a delay is out of the realm of possibility, but for something this large it’s going to take a lot of logistics to figure it out, especially making sure it doesn’t conflict with the MLB schedule. I know I joke that I want them to just announce something already, but with how things are progressing in America with vaccines, they probably don’t want to do anything hasty and lose this opportunity. I honestly never thought cases would be dropping this significantly this soon. But with COVID we know how quickly things can spiral out of control again. It’s a really tough call.1 point

Oh man, sorry if I caused unnecessary worry! 😓 Just a feeling. No news. He's just not been gone nearly this long before and it feels like he's done. I hope that's not the case.1 point

Wasn't the problem with the Trilogy era booze and prescription drugs (I'm thinking about the Rolling Stone article). It wasn't "other" drugs1 point

I certainly don’t hate it like I did on first listen but it’s only gone up slightly with repeated listens. I still can’t stand the momentum stops and vocal effect that is overused in their songs and don’t get me started on the line snort. Except to say this: I just listened to @TheNimrodsPodcast for this song and they raised a really good point about why this bothers them too. Green Day have always been a drugs band and wrote about it frequently but it was never glorified. It was always in the context of “I do this but I admit it’s a problem and I’m a mess”. All the coke stuff from FOAM to this feels very different. First, it does seem to be glorified as part of the rock and roll aesthetic and second, it’s no longer being written and sung by a young guy, but a middle aged guy post rehab. It’s not being presented as a problem so are we supposed to think it’s cool? The point they made in the podcast was, for the first time Green Day sounds inauthentic. And really that’s better than the alternative, which is you have a near 50 year old guy post rehab doing coke and thinks it’s rock and roll. So it’s either inauthentic or concerning, neither option is good, either way it makes the music hard to enjoy. This is a stark contrast to the way he wrote about drug use as recently as in The Longshot songs, which was very authentic. He clearly wrote about missing those days when he partied and that it was right that he stopped but sad at the same time. That’s fair and feels real. So what is he trying to say now?1 point
