  1. They're performing on September 17th, let's go! Right after this pandemic we will see Green Day everywhere. Be prepared folks.

  2. I'm glad to see Green Day along current headliners like Billie Eilish and Tame Impala rather then Blink 182 and other 00s act

  5. Honestly at this point I just want to see what look like the FOAM era setlist for Green Day during a full show.

  6. There’s no way in hell I’d consider going but in terms of career opportunities for the band in the near-term future, this is amazing news. As others have pointed out, they’re one of the few straight-up rock acts on the bill but being a headliner on this kind of show is huge, especially with the timing they’re aiming for on the festival. Honestly this kind of lineup may give them access to a type of audience they haven’t made a serious play for since the 21CB era. Plus I could easily see a nice pro-shot and/or soundboard coming from this. Very much looking forward to it.

  7. I’m glad to hear they’re optimistic, but I’m also a bit annoyed that we got an announcement about a NEW show before we get confirmation of what’s going on with the old shows. Unfortunately I’d bet we’re going to be seeing this for a lot of events for a while with such increased demand and (I assume) a smaller number of tickets to keep things spread out.

  8. We can buy the ALL-IN tickets for only $2995 + Fees 😂

  10. That sounded strange enough that I actually looked it up in case there’s an innuendo

  11. They’re one of only a few rock bands in the entire three day lineup

  12. 😂 Hey, just be grateful that Bowling Bowling Bowling Parking Parking is just the name of an entertainment complex in Japan 😂😂😂

  13. It took me so long to figure out how to edit the title in this new layout and by the time I did, you beat me to it

  14. Me reading this quickly, "$295, that's not that bad... Oh, there's another 9 in there."

  15. Taken from the Green Day section of the festivals site: “On June 13th, 2020 Green Day will embark on a global stadium tour, The Hella Mega Tour presented by Harley-Davidson, with Fall Out Boy and Weezer.” Bloody hell, surely they can check things before copy and pasting randomly 😂

  16. There's no way this song is better than Junkies on a High or Stab You in the Heart

  17. A 3-day festival that was supposed to happen near me the same week as the show I was going to for this tour just got moved to September a few days ago. I don’t think a delay is out of the realm of possibility, but for something this large it’s going to take a lot of logistics to figure it out, especially making sure it doesn’t conflict with the MLB schedule. I know I joke that I want them to just announce something already, but with how things are progressing in America with vaccines, they probably don’t want to do anything hasty and lose this opportunity. I honestly never thought cases would be dropping this significantly this soon. But with COVID we know how quickly things can spiral out of control again. It’s a really tough call.

  18. the german Rock am Ring festival got cancelled today (first weekend of june 2022 is the next date) atm there are no information about the lineup in 2022 (GD supposed to headline this in 2020 / 2021), i guess they will plan with a completely new lineup or they are still in talks to move the bands again

  19. Yeah, but American Eulogy has many more changes, mike sings, the lyrics are better (but versus Here comes the shock that isn't really saying much tbh). The choruses may be repetitive, but it has two (lol). I would say that American Eulogy is more interesting than Here comes the Shock, by far.

  20. I watched ¡Cuatro! today and I feel happy about it. Such a great documentary from one of the most exciting eras they've had. Hopefully one day they will release unreleased songs and other B-sides that didn't make the cut (assuming Billie Joe really had 65 songs). Only thing I heavily dislike about ¡Cuatro! is that they added 2 different Wow! That's Loud perfomances (Tiki Bar and Red 7) but not a single second of its solo. Considering they never perfomed the song after those secret shows ( ), I'd love to see some solo footage. Oh well.

  21. @foxborohottub have you guys made any progress with Instagram? It seems like none of us have had any luck. Also just wanted to say thank you again for helping us out with this. We know that you're busy, and I know for a fact that it truly means so much to all of us.

  22. This lineup makes me feel old. But it's a darn good lineup of new and upcoming artists that are doing great things in the 2020s. I've actually heard music by...10 of these artists. And I know I'd probably fall in love with some of the others at a show like this. Probably won't be going, but it's really cool to see Green Day still steering clear of the Legacy Act tours like many of the 90's bands are doing these days. Cough Cough Everclear and Sugar Ray. I love those bands but there about as washed up as Noah's Ark in Back in the USA, ya know? Haha.

  26. Done. I like that they're being optimistic about this happening but I'm just not sure, lol. I hope it can go ahead as it has a decent line up. If it was any other time not in Covid times I would consider going cause Vegas is fun, but in Canada there's currently a $2k travel fine if you leave the country (at least that's what I'm calling it lol) so I won't be buying tickets for anything outside of Canada until that's lifted (and I'm vaccinated). Hope others are able to go!

  27. Wish I could go it’s uber expensive though and I don’t have the confidence needed to plan this after the last year. This is an enormous event being planned when I just hope we’ll be going to back to small shows by September and other normal life activities. I hope we’re doing so well by then that this can happen. It’s an amazing opportunity for Green Day to headline alongside Billie Eilish and Tame Impala. I want it to happen for them. Hope it’s televised at least. How do they always end up in Las Vegas in mid September? 😂

  28. I'd be quite happy if we started getting more music but less touring from Green Day in the future.

  29. We don’t have a Horrible Green Day Realizations thread but anyway, I just learned what Tune In Tokyo means.

  30. I have a single pit ticket for the Philly show so hopefully I can separate that from the four I’m keeping for Pittsburgh. They were two separate transactions (unless it all gets canceled of course then it doesn’t matter it all gets refunded)

  31. The only question is if it’s getting cancelled or postponed again.

  32. Seriously? I remember you!! He literally chose you when I was helding your back 😂 Wow that's amazing! That show was awesome (but i still prefer the revrad one in 2017) For this show I slept in front of the arena with my friends the day before (Billy Talent was playing lol). But everything was so fucked up. Instead of opening the door where everybody was in front of, they opened all 4 doors from every corner of the arena. I still managed to be first row but that was so stupid.

  34. I think during the trilogy tour they were playing a random song in the middle of the show for each city. I got Rusty James it was pretty nice! They only played it 5 times

  35. Remember American Eulogy? Both choruses of the song are as repetitive as the chorus in Here Comes the Shock (don‘t get that wrong, American Eulogy is one of my favourite tracks of 21CB)
    1 point
  36. I like them too, I just think those are the weakests (or maybe uninteresting) on those albums. Just to clarify, I hold 21stCB and RevRad in great high regard.
    1 point
  37. Well, without the claps (and let's say, the "Butch Walker-signature elements"), Here Comes the Shock would have fit on RevRad or even 21CB 🤔

  38. Tbf I feel like most of the discussion is just about modern Green Day at this point. But this song seems to be the tipping point to people just losing it
    1 point
  39. The only thing amazing about that song is that it managed to get a 30 + page thread discussing it !!

  40. How about whoever wants to see a Green Day concert just pay for a private one? Think of it. You sitting there playing on your phone looking bored. Billie screaming at you to get up. And it would only cost money!

  42. Wow I really like this quote. It's okay that he partied back in the days when they were young. I mean every rockstars did it lol. But you're not young forever. And thinking cocaine is still ''cool'' at 49 years old is strange for me. I'm repeating myself but I think Deryck Whibley is the best example of a guy who used to party like fuck and finally accepted that this time in his life is over. And we can see this in their last two albums.

  43. So HCTS is about a subjective science theory with some exceptions?
    1 point
  44. The fact that something is a theory and can be proved wrong doesn’t mean it’s subjective.
    1 point
  45. What? AHAHAHAHAHA omg yeah I don't understand them I'm stupid. Green Day isn't perfect. I love this band to death. But that doesn't mean everything they do is pure perfection. Some people are blinded because it's their favorite band and I know we can't say anything bad about Billie or Green Day on GDC but sometime you gotta be honest. It's okay for those who like HCTS or even FOAM. But I don't. Does that mean I'm not a fan? Nope.

  46. How the hell could they think that cutting the music between the verse and the chorus to sing ''Gonna do some damage and some damage will be done'' could be good? It's sounds awful. And please don't tell me that cutting the music is a reference about Warner because I'm gonna lose my mind.
    1 point
  47. What a ridiculous point. Of course all the songs mean something. So does every song ever made. People are questioning if that meaning is worth having a song about.
    1 point
  48. I prefer when the song is good on the first listen and not having to analyze each words during a week to maybe find a link between Green Day and Warner to make the song a little bit better.
