  1. Bibbie is like "I could be called a stalker" and "the things she could say about me could be pretty horrifying," but once you read this article because I clickbaited you, you'll find out this interview goes quite in depth about songwriting and Billie's collaboration with Aaron Cometbus, which is really cool. https://gayenerd.tumblr.com/post/643121312435421184/i-have-literally-no-source-for-this-interview-but

  4. Could also go with- Happy Valentine's Day. Find yourself someone who looks at you the way Billie looks at Kevin's lips.

  5. I will say that the racist connotations we first think of surrounding the noose are relatively recent history and more or less specific to American history. Hanging has been used as an execution method for hundreds and hundreds of years in all different cultures around the world. So I doubt this photoshoot was intended to reference the abhorrent and tragic history of the oppression of Blacks and POC in the U.S. specifically. Still, hanging is never really a good thing so I do see your point. I just don't think there was any ill intent behind the shoot. It was just to be edgy™ and provocative. Anyway... pretty heavy topic for a photos thread, 😬 so I'm gonna leave it at that and post these:

  7. Happy Valentine's Day fellow fangirls! I actually hate this bullshit "holiday" but it's an excuse to post pictures of Billie smooching

  11. I was just thinking, another show I’d actually love to see remastered is the Unplugged Show at the Bridge School from 2000.

  12. Mum: what are we going to watch for an hour? Me: whatever you want Mum: let's watch this (clicks onto the MTV Seville gig) Dad: we only watched it three hours ago (partially) Me: I'll ask you again what year each song comes from and you'll still get it wrong We must have seen the MTV gig at least 12 times since recording it when it was broadcast on the showcase channel in November. Whilst watching it tonight we talked about the constant guitar changes, what a peddle does, Tre setting fire to the drums, and the pranks on support acts.

  18. I'd wish that I wouldn't did that He is a whole package of human trash I like how they were bashing people directly on this record. Another take of freshness.

  21. So yeah, “The Stranger”? Turns out it’s a real thing. I’m reading this novel and the character proceeds to describe a type of masturbation where you sit on your hand first until it’s numb and it feels like someone else. That’s exactly what they called it. 😳

  22. I mean, he's already AI Billie in the picture! So maybe 2005 VMAs AI Billie.

  23. Found the 21CB era pic that the slicked back hair reminded me of. I remember the first time I saw this pic, I thought he was eating a cookie. The rubbed off paint on the guitar looks kind of like a cookie, and his lips are pursed like he's eating. So this will always be the cookie pic to me.

  24. Overachieved is kind of the problem, the very schedule is partly what led to Billie’s death spiral. But certainly they did all they could do until they literally could do no more

  25. This rare footage talk got me thinking - The Trilogy era wasn't a failed project if you consider all of the secret shows prior to its release as part of the tour/promo .. The fact that we'll never see any of those shows stays true to theme & direction. Despite how massively underwhelming an era it was commercially & for most fans, I can imagine that the band felt that they met all of their goals (even with the iHeart Radio incident). Overachieved even.

  26. This! And there are a ton of GD shows that have been released with full, high quality video of the whole thing (great shows, too!) in addition to the older stuff that's been surfacing here and there over the past few years. So it's not unreasonable to think that there might be footage out there that's just not public access yet. If there isn't, audio is always great. I know that's the case with the 2009 Fox Theater show. Peacemaker, Horseshoes and Handgrenades, and I think The Static Age (?) were audio only and it was still really cool. So @green day is, please don't personally insult me just because you didn't care for what I wrote. Besides, the GMA Summer Concert Series is not just some random live performance that nobody cares about. It's a pretty big frickin' deal. I also know from talking to people that the Montreux Jazz Festival show is very highly thought of as one of their better Trilogy performances and there are plenty of fans who would love to see more songs from it. So no, these are not my "personal pet shows" that "appeal very specifically to me". Haha! I remember that's the one I warned our watch party about, but we had to rewind because y'all missed it since it really wasn't that bad. Billie didn't so much puke as he did regurgitate. Still gross, though. Also sorry for quoting you twice in one post. ANYWAY, getting access to stuff we haven't seen is always exciting. Can't wait for more!

  27. For instance, I can tell that there is material that will you drive you mad if you hear it. The material that warner has stored is huge. I know that there are a lot of live material from 2005 and on, thinking they were playing in stadiums most of the time, and the camera feed of the big screens are recorded and stored. Not to mention how easy is to make multitrack recordings now. For AAF, they recorded everything, then they made a set that pleases Green Day and the label, and edit it. Nothing came from Southamerica tho, because they were working on the release already and waiting for the tracks takes a lot of time, not to mention the editing itself, but those exists as well. The Japanese 2001 tour was fully recorded as well. Tune in tokyo has some, and singles of Warning era have live tracks from other shows from the same tour. I know that one show was unusable because BJ was sick and he could not sing well from most part of it. So you can expect some Take Back or Fashion Victim live from SDB at some point
