Come on man, there are bands that release soundboard recordings of every show. No one says that everything has to come out in video form or that it has to be a big investment to get more quality live material out. This is going to sound awful, but you know, if something happened, both Warner and Joey will want to make money, so I’d expect releases.

I still think that's wishful thinking. Honestly in the US it feels like were trying to speed up the recovery process because we have a vaccine out. Where I am, we got put into tier 2 meaning in door dining can resume and such and I think it's a terrible idea. We did something like that last year and numbers spiked. I just don't see concerts happening this year either. I would love to be wrong about that, but right now I just don't see it.

I really want to see the full pro-shot Montreux Jazz Festival show. They only released Stay The Night, but I know they recorded the whole thing. I fucking hate when they do that. It's like "Hey, here's an awesome quality video of one single song. We're not going to show you the rest because fuck you. We'd rather let it sit and rot in a file than release it to fans who will truly love it, because we are assholes." Same goes for GMA 2009. Great videos of a handful of songs, but the rest can only be found in 240p because the HD files weren't released. I would jump for joy if I could get my hands on either of those full shows.

Yeah, I've heard that same quote about the band thinking woodstock wasn't even a particularly good show for the dookie tour, but we wound up getting a vinyl release of it a couple years back, so who knows if something like that would continue to be a deterrent AAF is a 2xLP, i've got the pink adeline press of it. But yeah, I didn't even think about all the shows on that tour that must've been recorded for that live record. EDIT: it also just occurred to me they must've recorded their whole 2001 Japanese tour, given the fact that Tune In, Tokyo... comes from like three or four different shows from that tour, right?

i dont know how it works for the US, but in germany (europe) show/festivals promoters/organizers cant say sth like "ya, not gonna happen obviously" because of their insurance contracts, they have to go on as if all of this will happen, they have to wait for the officials / politicians to cancel big events like this, then they can cancel it and get their insurance money if the organizers cancel shows/festivals now, before there is a official cancellation by the politicians, they wont get full insurance money

I think the Idiot Club exists since 94, but I could be wrong. Btw, one of the worst things GD did this last decade, imo, was to change the name to Idiot Nation. The other thing was to abandon the club/Nation entirely. There used to be a lot of cool stuff besides pre-sale codes, like the exclusive t-shirts (I never got one though), interviews, videos...

I made a promise to myself I would never see another concert at a stadium because they’re too damn big and there are no good seats. Green Day forced me to break that promise but for that reason alone I was never happy about the tour. I missed the warmup shows they did in 2016 and was hoping to catch another run of those before the next arena tour but instead they went bigger. I think if you ask most fans, they would prefer them to go smaller not bigger. Billie’s comments about “more effective touring” made me nervous when he said it in conjunction with the HM announcement. My husband was saying even if the show goes off he would not be comfortable attending with a crowd that size. And he’s been vaccinated. How will other people feel not knowing who may be infectious around you?

We all know Billie doesn't have the best judgement all the time. I agree that was a stupid decision, but he's done plenty of dumb shit before. I'm kind of sad he was even involved in a wedding for Joey, but he is his son and you can't really expect him to disown him (though he kind of deserves it). He's too kind and good of a parent for that it seems. Regardless, I still really miss him and hope he feels ready to come back soon.

Literally, this! I was so disappointed and pissed off at them for throwing a pandemic wedding for Joey but now it's like okay, we need to hear from you about something...ANYTHING! Just because there is nothing to promote right now is no excuse. He has said in the past that at some point he craves the contact with fans (or something like that) and the feeling of being unemployed...and he has proven that in the past with the Longshot promotion and shows. Of course live shows are out of the question right now, but the 100 percent silence is almost a slap to his fans. However, I can totally see him saying fuck them, they can wait until I'm good and ready. And, yup, I will wait until he's good and ready! Fuck. 🥰

Green Day still haven’t made any official statement themselves about the cancellation of the Asia tour have they? We know it’s been canceled from news articles and ticket providers info, but Green Day have been so MIA lately on socials they still haven’t said anything to fans. Not sure what they’ll say if anything when Europe gets canceled. The President just announced that we won’t have enough vaccine for all Americans who want it until late summer at the earliest so I can’t see summer concerts happening here either.

Looping back to what I said about why we have so much proshot footage of Nirvana vs. Green Day... this is (sadly) probably correct. Once one of the guys inevitably passes, they'll totally start cashing in by scraping the barrel for archival shit just like they did with Nirvana... Looping back to the Fugazi Live Series tho, I know Ian MacKaye has talked about how they sunk so much money into mixing/digitizing/cataloging all those years of Fugazi shows, but they also don't really care about breaking even because 1) they probably never will and 2) that's just how Dischord Records is.

Just reread the setlist - wow, that's really a dream show. This reaffirms that 2010 might have been their peak for touring (in regards of getting a mix of new and old songs post 2000s).

Of course not disown him, but maybe just suggest what thousands of other caring and responsible people have done this past year including a member of my family and just get legally married now privately and have your party/reception later when it’s safe and allowed.
