Was just watching the 1994 WTP performance on the Jon Stewart Show, and at the end, when Jon said "Happy St. Patrick's Day", of course my mind went here.

I'd call this one a wholesome hump.

Ignore what's in the spoiler. It's not worth your time. Not a single member of Green Day can pull of a fedora. Not a one... other than Jason Freese. I think the only exceptions are AI Tre and maybe even Trilogy Mike. AI Tre could pull off anything. Trilogy Mike only gets a pass because he looked so stupid, but it was kinda cute at the same time. And it was cute how hard he tried to make it work. This is a prime example. He looks ridiculous, but adorable.

One more thing we agree on I hate them too, but I always thought I was the only one since most people worship them like you're not a fan if you don't have one. So glad GD is not in that kind of consumerism. And even though they did have their figures, they were different and made them as band merch, not to be part of some trend.

That ott macho always makes me think “over-compensating” 😁 and yes, I love the way they are not afraid to show affection, the Ride doc where Tre says at the end, if you find yourself still together in your band 39 years later, it’s a very good thing if you love those guys gets me every time ❤️

I love the way Billie shows affection towards the boys and I don't just mean potentially spicy moments where he's necking with Kevin. I mean just the way he'll hug Mike and Tre or just interact with them. These gifs comes to mind: It's so fucking sweet! And I love that he's not afraid to show that affection without going nO hOmO!!!! A dude who is secure enough with himself and his sexuality to show affection like that is wildly attractive imo.

It's a paradox of how masculinity is seen in our society. On one hand, men showing affection to each other in a playful, flirty way is assumed to be non-sexual because of heteronormativity, but at the same time, some men are afraid of platonic affection, out of fear of looking gay.

I still have my suspicions about those two but let's end it there. I'll just say the only reason I was looking forward to HM was the Billie/Kevin shenanigans that were bound to happen.

Before we get a row for speculating, I agree that Billie/Green Day/Kevin love to mess with people, particularly if they think there are bigots about, and we all love seeing it too! I don't mind wondering privately.

I think age is very difficult to judge, especially with men as their hair and beard colour can be really different, add to that a man who sometimes wears make-up or goes full hobo and all bets are off. 😂 I think Billie largely looks very good for his age but he isn’t 50 yet, I know it’s close but he really is not that old! I think he’s one of many men who looks better older and that his whole persona, energy and slight physique help him look young. Plus I think while he is aware of his appearance and probably a little vain, I don’t think it’s a big thing for him which is attractive in itself.

Yeah, when Billie's all stage/interview ready, I'd say he looks mid 30s. Slacking around at home, early 40s. Nowhere near almost 50.

Not sure what the problem can be, saw the vinyl in HMV today!

I was Christmas shopping on Amazon and it recommended this to me so I bought the CD on a whim. It arrived, looking forward to unwrapping it on Christmas Day. Shame about the vinyl for all you guys though.
