This album is such a joy to listen to. Just full of fun, energy, absurdity, etc. This is the best band of all time nearly 40 years into their career. Incredible.10 points

I just had a vision of this album winning the Grammy, The Network turning up to get their award and the chaos that ensured! 🤣 🤣 Can you imagine half the audience..... so confused!10 points

Gwen reviews: Money Money 2020 Pt. II: We Told Ya So! Green Day flips the script, gets weird, and nets their best album since 2009’s 21st Century Breakdown Long review in the spoiler. Money Money 2020 Pt. II: We Told Ya So! is weird, creative, unexpected, and way better than it has any right to be. It has me excited for where Green Day goes next, something I didn’t feel at the beginning of this year. 4.5/5 Stars8 points

I'm almost 100% sure Mike isn't singing anything in Cancer is the New Black. It's just Billie making his 90's (deeper) voice, a bit like he does in CUNT. It's great how this album has so many ranges of Billie's voice, as well as all the variety in the music itself and the other guys signing many songs. It's their most diverse album ever, in all accounts!8 points

These three are the ones that I don't agree with. Asphyxia is Snoo, and if I'm wrong about that, I'll set my acoustic guitar on fire. Same for That's How They Get You. No idea who sings back up on Asphyxia. Maybe it's everyone who's not singing lead. Popper Punk is Fink all the way through. I'm sure of that.8 points

A brazilian journal just got The Network on the main page today, besides an announce of Sao Paulo Covid Vaccination Program that starts January 25: https://www.instagram.com/p/CIir7anB-tf/?igshid=29lzbluvg1jj7 points

In the past I can not say I was a huge fan of the original MM2020 but leading up to this one, I discovered that I actually like that one more than I thought I did. I have grown quite fond of The Network in these recent times. I think I like this one even more. Even the lesser of the more jokey songs are still catchy and fun to listen to. This year has been a good one for music and this album is far from an exception. In fact, I would call it exceptional. I have listened to the entire thing without skipping tracks and it is still a fun one to listen to. I do not think I will be growing tired of it anytime soon. The Fink songs are a blast, the Van songs are cool, and the Snoo songs are just fun/funny. I know that there are some people here that refuse to accept that others genuinely do enjoy music that they do not, that music is a subjective artform, and that people are going to have a range of varying opinions, but this is just my short take on this album! Oh, and seeing the band have fun with their social media has been really enjoyable too! I love it when people can have lighthearted fun amidst the chaos of the world.7 points

Just woke up to this. You're literally just here to make personal attacks and be confrontational to try to get a reaction/troll now. Stop it. I think it's pretty much the same thing, almost everyone knows it's them but it's fun to play along. It is slightly different since the social media aspect makes it a bigger thing but I think it's just as fun now. It was Devo! No idea where that originated lol. Just because of the style and era I guess.7 points

came back to gdc just to express how much I love threat level midnight. *this song would be soooo fun live* Billie really loves the office huh XD7 points

I just realized it’s funny how Insomniac to Nimrod really parallels FOAM to $$2020Pt2. Where FOAM and Insomniac are their shortest albums of short, drug fueled songs with dark themes, from there they went straight to Nimrod and $$2 which are both double LPs of a rich and varied mix of styles including silly songs, instrumentals and some damn fine writing.6 points

Trust me, it's just Billie singing lower, there is no Mike in that song6 points

The description is amazing 😂 My asphyxia dependency all started the first time I was choked out in a wresting match. The experience was incredibly freeing and I needed to replicate that ecstatic rush the best I could, alone, in my hacienda. I started slow, putting my left hand to sleep with “the Stranger” Then, after a while, the pins and needles were not enough. I needed more. I began using my spiky leather belt and asphyxia became my modus operandi. I wrote the song to share my enthusiasm for this killer new way to pleasure yourself with the world - Snoo5 points

This is a nice one I accidentally uploaded when I was going for a different picture next to it. No complaints there! It's an accidental Billie! The most beautiful accident to ever happen.5 points

Nah it's just Billie throwing his voice a bit.5 points

I'm naturally attracted to dudes with longer hair, so I've been having a field day with all the quarantine hair! But I'm gonna be soooo salty when everyone's like "yay we can get haircuts!" Especially Billie. I love his mop head!4 points

Its incredible how they got so pricey, i remember Adeline had them back then for $154 points

It's this 100%! It sounds like Billie Fink doing a dodgy cockney accent. Listen to that last "nitrate", it's certainly him.4 points

I don't mind Billie eating birthday cake with his hands when he cleans his fingers like this 😏4 points

Popper Punk is 100% Billie putting on an accent. The tonality of his voice is the giveaway. The only one that got me was Cancer, Mike sounds like 90s Billie which is amazing. Mike and Billie trade lines and Tre brings it home with the Snoopy-esk “No Dogs Allowed/Cancer is the new black” 😂😂4 points

Oh dude! I couldn't disagree more! Popper Punk is the most fun I've ever had doing the dishes since Daft Punk's Around The World, the consistent energetic repetition that's not too explosive to wear you out and at the same time it's just persistent and groovy enough to keep you working heh Tarantula could have been -and certainly tried to be- a perfect recreation of Hammer of The Gods, I don't know if the missing ingredient is time but it maybe the case. I still enjoy it though.4 points

Still trying to like Squatter, That's How They Get You, Stranger, Elon and Popper Punk. They are okay, but I'm not grooving with them yet. And The Pool Party was just lame, so I left. There was a TV floating around in there and I thought I might get electric shock.4 points

I'd wager that all the videos were recorded in one session, they're just not releasing them all at the same time. These The Network music videos are probably especially easy to make at one go, 90% of the work is in post.3 points

bad is spelled with a b. You can mean bad in the good way or the bad way, but either way. B. The Network need their own comic book series, a tv series and movie. And novels.3 points

OOO! Can we get a "Cancer is the New Black" poll up? I think the singing goes low Fink ("this party is benign",) higher Fink ("existential"etc.), and then the lowest voice in the chorus = The Snooooo!3 points

Popper Punk frustrates me because it's nearly 3 minutes. Popper Punk could have been a 30 second song, and then something like Tarantula could have been expanded to make a more complete song. But what do I know, I'm just Captain Underpants and I get ZERO say in what happens. and I'm fairly certain Z might have re-recorded all the keytar parts to make them less mainstream. I'm a mainstream keytarist, darn it! What if the Foxboro Hot Tubs are on the same kind of schedule? It's some kind of deal with the Church of Lushotology that you can only release albums ever 17 years, or risk an apocalypse that Fink doesn't believe in. That mean's we'll get Stop, Drop and Roll 2: We Continue to Burn in 2025! That actually sounds about right if we're starting over from The Network onward. We get Network, Amazing Green Day, then Foxboro Hot Tubs and then the long awaited follow to to the amazing one.3 points

I'm just glad to hear that other people aren't sure who's singing some of the songs. I thought it was just me. I love the music/instrumentals in Pool Party, even though it's a spoken/kind of rap song. It reminds me of Beck. Degenerate and Art of the Deal--Damn Billie sounds good. I don't care what anyone says, Squatter is hilarious. I get B52 vibes throughout this album, and that is a good thing.3 points

I had to listen to Cancer is the New Black to see what y'all are talkin' 'bout. The only part Mike sings is "hey" and whatever the fuck he's saying in the backing vocals on the chorus (sounds like "you know", maybe). To those of you saying he sings the first verse, I see how you'd think that, but no. If Mike was an 80 year old man with no teeth, then that would be what he sounds like. That's just Billie trying to either do an accent of some sort or sing more aggressively in a lower register than usual (maybe both). Same thing for that one line in the chorus (you know the one). That song is just Billie and Tre. Heard Immunity is Mike, and Hey Elon is Tre. And @pacejunkie punk, if you need proof, I can't give you solid proof. I can tell you why I think what I do. Everyone here knows Billie's voice. Billie's got a good range. Naturally, he sings in the third and fourth octaves. That's his middle register. It's super obvious when he strays from that, because his voice sounds nasally or forced. (You can check me on that if you want). Mike's probably got about the same range as Billie (maybe he can go lower than Billie), but I can't tell you what his middle register would be; I haven't been listening to his voice for 7 years. Mike tends to sing very nasally (not so much on MM2020pt2 now that I think about it). He's got his weird new wave accent that he's done on both albums. In comparison to Billie, he can sing lower notes more comfortably. He tends to drag out vowels when he sings. When he sings high, his voice sounds so little. As far as Tre goes, you just know when it's him. (Damn, I've got very little frame of reference for this one). It's so hard to explain, but he sounds more like Mike than he does Billie. If you know how his voice sounds when he talks, then you've got a good idea of what his voice sound like when he sings (even when he tries to change it, there are some small little details that are the same).3 points
