It's getting old and boring, perhaps you can talk about how much you hate it in its respective thread. THE NETWORK is the topic here and yes, we do like it because it's Green Day, duh. And if they weren't, there will be people who'll still like them because we're all different with different tastes. I'm not a big fan of their first record and I like this one a lot more so far, so what? We should be enjoying the music instead of calling shit everything we don't like. I'm listening to the album right now and I haven't commented on the songs here yet (I think). Honestly I love this album so much! My absolute favorite is I Think We're Alone Now but closely followed by You Can't Put Your Arms Around a Memory. I love Amico so much too and hope Billie covers more Italian songs, it's just so cool and cute to hear him sing! Italian fans must be delighted! I'd love to know how bad or good his accent is 😂 It sounds good to me but I don't know Italian! This didn't age well.

I was around back then, I remember Transistors Gone Wild getting released online before the cd came out (I think it was as a flash video on a website or something) and all the debate about whether it was Billie Joe’s voice or not, was he guesting on the song, was it Green Day, who was singing the other part haha. Then the articles about Green Day denying it, the press conference, etc. I have to say I think it’s just as good this time around, as soon as I heard that Tarantula preview I was so pumped, it just sounded like classic Network, and the EP has not disappointed at all ... I’ve had it on repeat for days! All we are missing is Doctor Svengali.

All of these sound surprisingly promising to me. If we heard 10 second previews of Money Money 2020 Pt. 1 there's a good chance I wouldn't be super impressed by any of it. This is sounding like it's going to be their White Album.

I think what excites me so much about this release is that unlike with FOAM where they seemed to just tantalizingly skim the surface of an idea, this album goes deep in exploring a concept/style. They put the time in for this one.

Spike was my introduction to the Network back in the day when I was just getting into Green Day. It would have been nice to hear a follow up, but ehhh it's not really necessary in my opinion. I think Spike's great just the way it is 🤐😄 It wouldn't exist if Green Day didn't exist. So that kind of argument makes absolutely no sense. In my opinion it's not. A lot more work seems to have been put into these songs and it shows. Just look at the art for example taking actual effort vs the badly thrown together AI rip off art. I'd like to believe that to be the case, but I think Green Day would have been way too busy doing tours and stuff right now to even think about doing The Network again. I think they may have had a few songs up their sleeve, but I believe that this didn't become a serious full blown project until the boys knew they'd be in lockdown for a good chunk of the year.

Yeah, that Netflix nonsense had me doing a double take. I thought maybe I posted some of these in my sleep or something. I hope these aren't all Viva Death songs I renamed in my dreams and everyone fell for it.

I think the pressure of the Green Day mold is stressful to Billie. He loved doing the Longshot and probably loves this. Something new and out of his comfort zone that won't get scrutinized every which way because it's by Green Day.

Tre has always been my favorite member if there is such a thing I'm really happy to see we're getting Tre songs. The dude is hilarious. Haven't listened to any clips yet and won't. I want to wait for Friday for the full thing.

I agree that it seems there's too many Tre songs. I prefer Billie's, and to a lesser degree, Mike's. Tre is better in small portions. Flat Earth is okay, but my least favorite of the ep. Respirator sounds okay; not liking the Elon one at all, but we'll see when the whole thing is out.

I dunno, I feel like hearing part of a song gives away way more than a watching a movie trailer, like you know the whole sound and melody and tone and riff etc. No way I'll be doing it, but each to their own.

Let me say those metal coffee mugs seem to be shit quality. I have the one with Horny on it. Not only does it stain easily, it will strip off the paint, coating, whatever it is if you leave even the slightest drop of water on it. I had mine in the sink and when I washed it I noticed a huge weird stripe on it where the coating came off. The GD store sent me another one, but even after careful drying and not leaving this one in the sink, it still stained and faded.

Saaaaaaame. Mine is a 2007 and luckily has a working CD player, but all it has is that and the radio. I use an FM transmitter with bluetooth to connect it to my phone. Useless if I'm out of radio signal like if I drive into the mountains. Gotta have CDs or a cassette adapter for that shit. Only problem is my car has no cassette player, so if I'm out of range and I don't have a CD I'm screwed. Untrue. Totally fine if you don't like it. As for me, I don't care who it is. I think it's fun music whether or not it's Green Day. Please don't make blanket statements about other people's musical tastes.
