The Network used mind control to force @solongfromthestars to make a banner for them. They've taken over GDC and are too powerful to be stopped!16 points

I don’t know what y’all are talking about - to me TUT sounds like Billie singing without a doubt.13 points

I love how it's been over a year since FOAM was announced and they never updated the logo to match the new era, but when The Network comes back it's done in a matter of days!12 points

Why are peope still debating "The Ultimate Test" whether it's real or not? It's obviously them. 1. The video has the Lushotology icon which was the first thing that Billie used to tease us about The Network coming back. Also the video has entirely same distortion effect as "The Prophecy". Considering the fact that the video was uploaded in September, these similarities are hard to see as a coincidence. 2. Bill Schneider has acknowledged the song twice here. First time saying it's "Totally fake..." with a suspicious tone. And the second time replying "it's fake" when someone said that everyone who says the song is fake has to eat their copy of Money Money 2020. Which sounds to me like his just messing with us. 3. Billie Joe shared the song on his Instagram story while simultaneously affirming that they're not The Network. Why would he share some fan made leak which at the time had like 300 views? The clip of the song itself was quite long on his story. 4. Green Day's new management company Crush Music is known for guerilla marketing. They've, for example, purposely "leaked" Weezer songs in the past. 5. "The Ultimate Test" is a full song that continously sounds just like Green Day and even more so Billie Joe with that The Network distortion effect. Billie Joe has such a distinct voice which is easy to spot. In addition, the production sounds far too expensive and tight to be a fan made leak 6. I get the argument that Panicland had us fooled last year, but they cleverly used short clips that resembled Green Day and our minds filled the gaps. Hell, even the lead singer of Panicland, Braedon Horbacio wrote earlier here that the song sounds extremely legitimate and made a brilliant analysis on why the singer is undoubtedly Billie Joe. In short, it isn't someone trying to sound like Billie by emulating his accent, but the actual tone of the voice is Billie Joe's. 7. In the chorus during the "My friend is coming home" part, pay attention on how the singer sings the word "friend". The voice starts to break and goes slightly into falsetto at a G into G#. Billie Joe almost never goes higher than a G# unless it’s falsetto.11 points

Okay, I don't know why people are shitting on TUT so much. I think it is an amazing song and I have been listening to it on repeat for god knows how long now. Whether or not it's actually Billie (it definitely is his voice and I have no idea how anyone can miss that) and the real Network, I love the song and I'm happy we got it.10 points

Listen to Roshambo and Teenagers From Mars on MM2020 and you'll get an idea for how Billie distorts his voice and has a slightly lower pitch to usual. This is done on purpose obviously because he's trying to sound like a different band. He does the exact same thing on TUT. I personally don't get why people are struggling to hear his voice in TUT tbh haha. Also, why and how would someone fake a track to not sound just like Billie, but Billie's distorted Network voice, and coincide it exactly with the timing of all the Network stuff coming out officially? And not just snippets, a whole track. Even on the Panicland snippets there were moments I really doubted it because the voice seemed to slip too far from Billie's. This is different. It sounds like him throughout for me. At no point do I ever feel like it's someone impersonating.9 points

I'm having a hard time believing Billie would have shared that amount of TUT if it wasn't real. If he was seriously saying it was fake it likely would've just been a screenshot.9 points

Man, it’s like we’re taking this “Green Day isn’t the Network” joke to another level.9 points

Can somebody tell me why so many threads are about a band called Green Day? I thought that this is The Network Community. Please talk about any other bands than The Network just in the general chat. Thank you.8 points

I believe that TUT was an official leak and the reason why it was dropped earlier and separate from all the IG and other YT stuff clearly under The Network profile is obvious — because at least half or more of the fanbase already knows Green Day is The Network, that joke played out 17 years ago. So take TUT out of the game. What would there be for us here to puzzle over and speculate about if not for that “extra” mysterious song of unknown origin? By doing this, it includes the rest of us that thought we knew the joke and now we’re all guessing and arguing along with the n00bs as to whether this is The Network, or Green Day or a fake or a troll, etc. I’ll say it again, we’re being played. TUT is absolutely The Network. It’s the deep dive into the joke for the fans who were there the first time and otherwise wouldn’t be having as much fun right now. I think when it does turn out to be a Network song all the believers should get their names listed in their own gloat thread here with “We Told You So” in the OP and the rest of y’all can apologize there 😜8 points

This is like when people assumed panicland was real because Bill Schneider said it wasn’t but the other way around.8 points
-
Because it's not a "real" leak. They either leaked it themselves, or it got leaked and they decided to go with it because it's fun. And I honestly don't see how "If the band wanted to tease us with it, they would have posted it on the instagram like they did the [other] songs" is in any way an objective thing to say. How is that a matter of fact? Billie's acknowledgment of its existence, in and of itself, proves that it's real. As described here. Big recording artists are not allowed to acknowledge fan works.8 points

TUT has to be real, mainly because the story of how a Green Day song came unnoticed because we’re all indeed a bunch of idiots is hilarious.7 points

Some of you guys must be listening to a completely different song to me or something lol. I don't see how you can't hear Billie in that. There's certain dead giveaways about how he pronounces or slurs certain words. When the full MOOTIK songs came out it was obvious from the get go that the voice wasn't Billie's. You'd have to be insanely good at impersonations to pull off a whole song convincingly like TUT. I think some of you are definitely going to be eating your copies of MM2020 very soon!7 points
-
I swear if TUT is panicland again I will get on a plane to Canada and ask them very nicely to please stop messing with us7 points

can't wait for the insanity to really set in once we inevitably make it to page 100 of this thread, just like the MOOTIK thread7 points

I’ve been listening to Green Day for nearly 20 years. TUT is clearly, at the very least Billie singing.7 points

Same. I can’t hear it any other way. Jason and Mike sound distinctly different.7 points

if you listen back to money money 2020 its really only mike's songs that fit the short, simple, network-y sound, and billie's songwriting has changed quite a bit since 2003, i'd believe that the ultimate test could be something that 2020 billie would write, and all the other songs weve heard are mike's, so it makes sense that they don't sound exactly the same6 points
-
Right, after all why would Billie even bring attention to it? Answer - because we had all written it off as a fake and moved on. So he was bumping it up to cast doubt again so we’d talk about it. And he never said TUT wasn’t The Network. He said “We’re not the Network”. So all he basically said was it wasn’t a Green Day song, which it isn’t.6 points

Someone could show up at your door in one of those RevRad Billie Joe masks and you’d be completely convinced6 points

Right!? I honestly can't tell if people genuinely think TUT is fake or if they are just in on the "Nothing to do with Green Day" troll 😂6 points

To me it sounds more like he’s just telling the truth, the real truth that is already in front of all of us. He doesn’t know who the Network are, he is not part of the Network, stop bothering him. These are the facts, there’s no way to challenge the real truth6 points

Just gave the song the 24 hour test, still equally in love. I can’t imagine trying to explain what’s going on to my 1994 self when I found Dookie and was hooked permanently. “Son, in 26 years you’ll be used to them releasing great music all the time to the point where it seems like something to take for granted. But it’s not. And they’ll continually release an incredible song by surprise when you need it most throughout your whole life. They’ll do this in your teenage years when you’re dejected, in your twenties when you’re struggling with the challenges of young adulthood, and when you’re 40 and trying to raise young kids in a pandemic”. WTF? How lucky are we?!6 points

I just don't get it. Why are so many people still not hearing what is very clearly Billie's voice in TUT? There are intricacies of how he pronounces and delivers things that can't be replicated. Yet these same people are jumping on the wagon for The Prophecy and Tarantula because "Oh well those ones sound like The Network's style." Indeed they are, but I think TUT fits right in. Yeah, it's different, but the distortion and overall sound feel very Network to me. Let that poor gang of masked dipshits branch out and have some fun with different sounds! They don't deserve to be shoved into a "one style" box. @Todd I think you should hand over the title of "smartest" to me now since I was runner up.5 points

"The Network Community" sounds like a really dull and obscure social media platform for making connections and meetings in some unspecified profession.5 points

I can almost guarantee you that there are old school fans out there who refused to believe that the guy singing "Father Of All..." was Billie Joe. Just because there isn't a perfect unanimous agreement on the subject, doesn't mean it can't be true.5 points

Yeah, it’s all fake, boring. I’m jumping in the release date wild guessing game, bring it on5 points

Hasn't the video with the symbol been there for more than a month though? Like what are the chances that someone not only faked a song this well, perfectly replicated Billie Joe's voice but ALSO happened to design a fake logo that is EXACTLY the same as the one that has just started being used in official accounts and media. I don't get it.. There's so much evidence here that it's not a fake song. It might not be on THIS album, but there is no way it can't be legit.5 points

I can't wait to blast "we're right, you're wrong" when the album comes out and the ultimate test isn't on it because it's not a real network song Some of you guys are really gullible. Still falling for these "leaks" after Panicland showed you up? If it was a real leak, lawyers would have taken it down. If the band wanted to tease us with it, they would have posted it on the instagram like they did the real songs. Those two are unmistakably the network. Nice try with the ultimate test, it sounds good, but it sounds nothing like the real clips we've heard so far.5 points

Also someone on reddit made a good point that if TUT were fan made, Billie would not be allowed to play it, they are not allowed to accept fan submissions for that reason in case they release music and are later accused of plagiarism. So just playing it shows it is them. He also denied it in the same sentence as saying we are not the network which is knowingly untrue so it is all the same lie. As for it not sounding like the other songs, neither did Roshambo. I argued earlier that because Roshambo was originally a Green Day song it had a different feel from the rest of the Network stuff. Still released by The Network though. According to the original leak notes, TUT was recorded last February and was likely also an intended GD song so that explains the different sound but I believe it will still be part of this project. The added voice sample in the bridge seems like an element added to make it fit more with the new wave sound.5 points

Don't forget about this. After the release of The Network's Money Money 2020, GD put out American Idiot! Dun dun dunnnnnn!4 points

11 years ago tonight, from 1am to 3am after playing a 3 hour Green Day arena show across town right before, my favourite show ever took place And I'll never get over that they have a professionally shot video of the whole show and we'll never see it4 points

Yeah, after thinking on it some more, I am firmly in camp TUT is real. IMO, there's just too many things that would have to be massive coincidences for it to be phony. Plus BJA acknowledging it at the same time as all the other network stuff that we know is legit. I just don't know why he wouldn't ignore it like all the other fake green day tracks that crop up all the time, unless it was really the network and we were supposed to know about it. also, I think we may have spooked @2020pt2 off. If this insider that's lurking were wise, I bet they made a new account with a less conspicuous username.4 points

My only question is Why give exposure to a video that almost no one noticed before, just to claim it is fake? Why download it and upload it as a story? And also put it together with the other videos whom were obviously advertising, announcing this new The Network's album4 points

something i just thought of.... the opening lyric to The Ultimate Test is "THIS IS FOR REAL". Could it be a clue hidden in plain sight? The band telling us off the bat it's legit?? Also, there was a lurker user @blakedarko, which is the name of the channel that originally uploaded The Ultimate Test, that was viewing this thread most of the day this broke. I don't want that to be forgotten lol4 points
