If The Ultimate Test is anything to go by, this is going to be the Green Day record that I really needed this year. It's definitely a lot more Rock than the previous songs by The Network but keeps much of the New Wave identity with the effects going on (Voice and instruments). I fucking love this song. I just don't understand why they have just been saving their best new material for side projects and not just straight up making this a Green Day album... Who actually knows what'll happen to be honest, for all I know they could be releasing this as a Green Day album after all. I don't know how the dispute between Green Day and The Network didn't end years ago. Billie claims up and down that he's not Fink. Fink hates Green Day and says there is no association. Why has no one ever compared their fingerprints? Solve everything right there.

If they released this under the Green Day name people would say it’s shit. Expectation is different for side projects, expectation for Green Day albums is unrealistically high. If some of the FOAM songs were on the Longshot album I’m convinced people here would like those songs more.

Regardless of which songs are real or not can I say the fact that they're actually revisiting this project 17 years later, in the year 2020 as prophesied, is so epic and amazing . I can hardly believe it. Only Green Day!

It’s cool that 2020 the year of the Network’s return (according to the ancient prophecy, definitely not a random year they made up in 2003) is also a time of a general resurgence of popularity of new wave. It’s mostly serious darkwave “emo” bands like Molchat Doma, but still, The Network called it that there’ll be doomers looking for post punk synths to listen to
