  4. The emotional ride produced by songs like WMUWSE is one of the things I love about a GD show, you get fun and goofiness, shouting and screaming and crying and at the end you are exhausted but my goodness youā€™ve been so alive for those 2 1/2 hours, you donā€™t forget it. Not many bands can take you through the switch from fun and silliness to raw emotion as quickly as these boys can.

  5. How have I never seen a picture of Billie carrying a giant flamingo pool toy while riding a bike until now??? I didn't know what my life was missing! And you can see his ANKLE TATTOOOOO!

  10. Oh, I love WMUWSE for the very reason that it's so emotional. You can really hear it coming straight from Billie's heart when they play that. Plus it's a beautiful song. I understand what you mean, though. It's definitely a heavy hitter for both the band and the fans. I just happen to like that.

  12. The music videos from this era actually were decent, I agree with that. I felt like after American Idiot the GD music videos weren't anything special. 21CB didn't have great music videos and I thought the Rev Rad ones were just average. My fave GD music videos will always be the ones from Dookie, Insomniac and select ones from AI.

  13. Well Billieā€™s story explains why theyā€™re showing so much more love for this anniversary than for Dookie: ā€œWe would never make a part 2 of any past Green Day album... but if we did it would be Insomniacā€

  15. My apologies, getting late and been a busy day. I still canā€™t quite adjust to Kevin actually being in GD, will it really be permanent? Will Mike put up with Kevin getting the attention from Billie on stage or will there be a power struggle between them? Important issues!

  16. Did I miss something? This is the fangirl thread, fangirling - itā€™s what we do, and very well and consistently if I may say so. You could argue weā€™re pretty Billie focussed but there is a lot of appreciation for Mike and Tre too, thereā€™s room for everyone!

  17. When you can't listen to EJN without hearing the mic drop. When you can't listen to When I Come Around without some small voice in you head screaming "Mike Dirnt's a dirty whore" When you know who Jason White, Jason Freese, Jeff Matika, and Kevin Preston are. (Bonus points if you knew who Kevin was when FBHT was a thing). When you quote the Jeff Matika show on a daily basis.

  18. What a blooper! At least when my spellchecker changed "touch Billies arms" to "touch Billies area" I was able to spot it before posting. It was that bit in EJN where he'd bring up a fan. Here's a video

  19. Had a dream this morning that GD opened up with East Jesus Nowhere (lots of Kevin in my dream), then Billie wanted to bring a fan up on stage to be sacrificed. The fan next to me was so desperate to do it that he shoved me to the ground (even though I was too busy taking pictures of Billie rather than volunteering to do it). Billie then asks that the other fan be thrown out of the gig for hurting me and that GD would see me after the gig to make sure I was ok. This was when I woke up.

  20. I hissed at a girl because she said Mike Dirnt is hot. I replied with "back off, bitch, he's mine". Not gonna lie, that is probably not the worst thing I've done, but it's the one that I'm most ashamed of. I mean, look at my username. Don't I reek of fangirl?

  22. Oh for sure! It's a great emotionally charged song but I cannot listen to it now. It's personally linked to loss for me and I can't do it anymore. The song is already sad but now I feel that weight on a personal level.

  24. The 21CB video itself is really cool though the rest arenā€™t particularly special although Billie looks very hot in them but Iā€™ll not turn this into another fangirl thread šŸ˜€

  25. Oh, I'm not implying Billie's a sadist. I just said he has that particular expression at that moment. He can be a dick at times, though. But generally he's a very sweet, good hearted boy.

  27. and not a little acoustic encore version of Whatshername or Extraordinary Girl either. Part of the main setlist and electric. Would fit nicely near the middle or a bit later in the show.

  28. I can't remember much of the one I had last night. Something about bad people using a dog to spread a virus, and me trying to get in touch with Billie so he could solve this but only being able to reach Kevin and worrying that he wouldn't be able to. So basically, my past couple of dreams have have total faith in Billie and not so much in Kevin.

  33. Oakland Coffee is totally blowing it by not doing an extra caffeinated "insomniac roast" for this release. Also, has anyone else been buying the Ramones and Replacements reissue boxed sets? The packaging is beautiful and they include booklets with lots of photos and stories from the people involved in making the records, and they have bonus cds with live tracks, demos, b sides, and unreleased tracks, and I would absolutely love for green day to get the same treatment! Dookie would be perfect for this, there's plenty of demos they could include on a dookie boxed set and they could include the versions of 409 and 2000 from those sessions, and maybe even the unreleased version of haushinka from that session! They could include interviews with the band and Rob cavallo and hell maybe even Kevin army since he worked on the demos. They should absolutely do that for the 30th anniversary in a few years! Maybe even a remix! They could do the same thing for nimrod in a couple years, there's so much material from that session that never got released, and that record was a turning point for the band, so it would be cool to have an in depth retrospective for that album.

  37. The songs on FOAM that I liked back in February I still like. The FOAM songs that weren't my cup of tea in February are still not my cup of tea. However, I find it difficult to listen to the album (and enjoy the album) without being reminded of the horrific year that 2020 šŸ–•has become (though I am pleased that a few people here have got through difficult times through listening to the album). It seems so long ago that I listened to FOAM in happier times when I thought that 2020 was going to be a great year for me. 2016 and 2017 were fantastic years for me and every time I listen to Rev Rad it reminds me of those wonderful memories.

  38. This is exactly what I mean! I completely agree. People are free to like or dislike whatever and to voice that opinion. But I hate it when they want to state their opinion as fact. Or they act like "you must be stupid if you like this album." It's just silly. I love hearing what other people have to say about music, especially if it's a different opinion from mine. But there's no room for discussion when someone approaches from them I'm right, you're clearly wrong and dumb angle.

I've heard Green Day songs at all the stores I've worked at, and most of the ones I've shopped at. You can probably guess which acoustic single from Nimrod, right?

  42. I once licked the seat of a car because a man told me it belonged to Tre Cool once. It only tasted like old Taco Bell and ball sweat. I'm pretty sure Tre Cool was never in the car. I sent Mike Dirnt a letter asking for his advice: Should I feed my dog the food that he likes or the diet food that is good for his health? I'm pretty sure Mike's reply got lost in the mail. I was on an airplane about to land in San Francisco when another plane nearly crashed into us. I flipped off the other plane but I'm pretty sure the other plane's pilot didn't see it. Then I found out Billie Joe Armstrong was on that plane. I realized I may have accidentally flipped off Billie Joe so I sent him a bag of weed for a green day, but it was only shake so I think that wasn't sufficient for an apology and he is still mad at me.
