Honestly, fuck these pricks clamoring for a response from Billie. The only reason they demand a statement from him is because Billie is Joey’s celebrity father. In any other instance, the public wouldn’t give 2 shits. He could be dealing with it in private for all they know. I’m not against being curious about how Billie would respond to this, but these fuckers seem to want to find a reason to hate Billie too.

I don't see how that's relevant to the Billie part tbh. If Joey gets away with it/has less harsh consequences than a regular person would because he's rich then that sucks. And it's probably going to happen. But demanding to hear a statement from Billie has nothing to do with that. It's about the person who did something wrong, the only reason anyone wants to hear from his parent is because he's a famous parent whose band they're a fan of. And that isn't a good reason to demand it. Billie isn't getting away with anything, regular parents aren't blamed for or pressured to make public comments on their adult offspring's actions. Btw I'm not talking about people who are just wondering whether Billie will comment or think it could be helpful in some way etc. I'm talking about people harassing Joey's family members on social media and demanding that Billie needs to make a statement.

Yeah it's like, trying to make it be about Billie/Green Day so it can be a thing that's part of your fandom and get entertainment from it. I also understand the curiosity but to be openly demanding it under the guise of it being something that's needed is kind of gross. I think people should step back and think about why they're asking for this.

Well, I doubt we'll be getting any more NFM releases anytime soon now because fucking Joey had to go and be a repulsive, predatory creep. If he put one out he'd probably get backlash for something that is absolutely NOT HIS FAULT! God, 2020 can go die in a fire. 😩

Before having my kid I would've been fuck him disown him etc but I have a kid and even if he did the worse shit possible I don’t think I would be able to cut him out of my life of course things would change but then some parents do abandon their kids even without them doing bad shit so I guess depends on the person

I mean he's his parent so that's how it goes. But we don't know everything about his and Joey's relationship, what he was or wasn't aware of or what he'll do going forwards. At the end of the day this is on Joey.

To me, parenthood is the hardest thing in the world and sometimes tough love is necessary but no matter what, they’ll always be your child. It’s not like any other relationship.

No guarantees with Billie. I can be there to "supervise". We want to make sure someone is watching closely to make sure enough eyeliner is applied.

Yeah I can’t imagine Billie releasing anymore either. Even his most recent Instagram post is filled with comments about Joey. Anything with a comment section is going to be filled with that sort of thing for the foreseeable future.

I was lucky enough to be gifted the holy Green Day candles from a fan on Tumblr: As you can see, Billie got banged up in shipping - he was pretty shattered - so I spent 4 1/2 hours gluing him back together. I gave up at the end because the bottom pieces were too small to put together. So I turned to my good friend duct tape to help me out. And I spruced it up with some St. Jimmy. Super super happy to have these since I couldn't afford the bundle at the time!

Yeah, it's really not fair to him. Joey's an adult and takes full responsibility for what he did. What happened is entirely on him and it's sad that Billie is having to bear all of this backlash and that it's almost certainly going to keep him from doing something special for the fans that also brings him a lot of joy. Lydia was hurt the most by all this, obviously, and is a very strong young woman for coming forward, but Joey's actions have damaged other people in his life too.

I understand these people and disagree it’s only about entertainment. Personally, I think it sucks that rich people get away with things others wouldn’t and even though I understand that Billie is going to defend his son like any parent would, it’s just not fair.

Had a dream last night that my Hella Mega gig was moved to a large supermarket near where I live. However, when I arrived, the tickets that I had, which I thought were for the "indoor" seats, were actually outside tickets. Therefore I was forced to listen to the gig in the car park whilst watching the gig on one of the big screens. I was so upset at seeing the gig from the big screen rather than being inside the supermarket to see the band in the flesh. Also the elderly shoppers were not happy at not being allowed in the supermarket while the gig was taking place there.

I wasn't listening to them much at that time (other than the hits), but remember hearing about it and being happy about it. They were also the first of the "my generation" bands (ie not a classic rock, Beatles, Zeppelin, etc band) to be inducted and feeling weird about that, that someone I grew up with was around long enough to be in the Rock Hall.
