It's not about him "struggling with the pain done to others." It's giving "others" space to speak. If a celebrity posts a selfie, hundreds or thousands of people are going to discuss that. If a celebrity posts about a good cause or just shuts up because it should be obvious why they're not posting, people are going to discuss the cause, not their posts. That's the point. He doesn't need to be and shouldn't be praised for it, but I don't think anyone is actually praising him. They're explaining it because people don't understand.
A musician's "job" is not to provide you with free and regular entertainment anyway. If you've paid for something then obviously you should get it, but that's where their obligation ends. I'm not sure if you're deliberately misunderstanding so I may be wasting my time, but whatever.
