  1. Concerts are allowed from June 8 in the Czech Republic, except they have to be for 50 people only, including the band. I lowkey wish they’d draw 44 lucky people and rename it Hella Small

  3. I watch it quite often, I just love it but @kaylubd is right it could still do with more Billie in it. There’s quite a long stretch where they are working on it going to Broadway where you don’t see him at all!!! It still burns me that I had to buy it from Amazon as opposed to on CD so still have never seen (I think) all the additional stuff that was on the CD and I don’t think I’ll ever recover from there not being a full, professionally shot version of the show with him in it!

  4. Bad Reputation, the Joan Jett documentary is now streaming on Hulu and free to rent on Amazon Prime. Billie appears in it throughout and it’s worth checking out anyway.

  10. Yeah it's so sad. Some small independent veneues have started fundraising campaigns and I alreadey donated for one of my favourite places close to my hometown, but it will help them for some weeks, maybe months. Not for a year or more. Not all of them will survive, that's for sure. No, not yet.

  11. The thing I'm really worried about isn't when Green Day get to properly milk us on the Hella Greedy tour, sooner or later, they will and it's going to suck and we forgive them like we always do, but what about small venues? What about clubs that didn't make a lot out of shows before this and now they're without income. Will there be anywhere to go after this ends?

  12. Yeah, we're just greedy with how much we want to see Billie

  13. I don't want to put this in news, since it's old, but this is a repost of an interview I did with Broadway Idiot director Doug Hamilton back in 2013. It was previously shared here, but since the website it was posted on no longer exists, I wanted to share it in case anyone is interested. It's one of my favorite interviews and I didn't want to let it sit on my harddrive forever. https://radionotfound.wordpress.com/2020/04/14/interview-going-behind-the-scenes-of-broadway-idiot-with-director-doug-hamilton/

  18. So obviously, Germany is banning mass events until the end of August. Goodbye Hella Mega, goodbye festival summer.

  19. I feel bad to Tony Vincent when I say this but I really wish Billie was St. Jimmy on the official soundtrack. Of course it wouldn't even make sense or be fair since Tony was the original St. Jimmy, but I'm being selfish here

  20. I know some smaller venues like the ones here in Columbus are owned by chains with many different sized venues, so they may be OK. The independent ones? Who the fuck knows. I know some new loans were apparently being offered to small businesses. But that implies they need to somehow be paid back. Apparently in the U.S. they’re all just going to have to survive on half-assed government benefits with strings attached until fall 2021 or whatever the latest projections are for entertainment events to happen again.

  21. Yeah, I can see that the documentary is telling a story about Billie's gradual investment and involvement in the play, but I still wish they had shown more of his growth as an actor specifically. It would have been so cool to see that process of working with him for that part.

  22. It was. I read another interview where they talked about finding the story and being surprised by it because it wasn’t about the conflict they expected, but in how Billie gradually became more invested in the project and grew closer to the cast and crew in a way that surprised him, learning things about his craft and making friends like he hadn’t since Gilman, culminating in his decision to join the cast onstage. That’s the story that comes through when you watch it.

  23. Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it! RIGHT?! I was looking over the interview and I was like....it's not about Billie's story at all!

  24. Had another one last night. The AI musical was being performed on a large plane. Billie was playing St. Jimmy, but was wearing his typical AI era outfit instead of the St. Jimmy clothes. He was in all black with a studded belt, short and spiky black hair, lots of eyeliner, and a red tie. He looked absolutely stunning. This was AI era Billie, not 21CB era when the musical actually took place. When it was over, I tried to get a glimpse of him after coming back out from backstage. It was very crowded and hard to get by people. Even though it was supposed to be a plane, it looked much more like a ferryboat. I finally spotted Billie in a room with a bunch of other people. He looked happy and had one of his huge, heart-melting smiles on his face. His hair wasn’t as spiked up anymore and some of his bangs were falling into his eyes a little bit. He was also now wearing a black tie with white dots that was tucked into his shirt. Like in real life, he raised the bar yet again when I thought he couldn’t possibly get any cuter/hotter.

  27. The show in Norway is postponed until early June 2021. The exact date is suppose to be announced soon. I assume that the rest of the tour will be postponed as well, with or without the other opening acts. They obviously won't come to Europe for one show.

  28. maybe its relevant for some people: in germany our current "anti-corona-tactic" will end on 19.april on wednesday our politicians will talk and decide the strategy for the upcoming weeks/months for shows (GD show in Berlin, GD festival shows at Rock am Ring and Rock im Park in june) they will most likely (like 99%) officially forbid/cancel them

  29. I think fall 2021 seems a bit far out, but truthfully no one has any idea how long this is going to go on for. My opinion is we won't see any big shows until next spring. I really, really do not see large festivals or concerts being able to go ahead until a vaccine is created. It would be irresponsible. It's good to be optimistic but there also needs to be some realism, too. I would love to see the North American portion of this tour go ahead for this year, but there is no way in hell it's happening.

  31. Return To Sender was one of the three EP’s released to SoundCloud its the one with the 5 covers I Am A Rock As Tears Go By and others and on the albums and EP’s it’s strictly Billie except for the drums on the song Happiness played by Joey for all intent Longshot is really just a Billie Joe solo album Kevin and others are just there for the live gigs

  33. I haven't listened to the album in about a month, so I put it on today and man, I still fucking love it. Sugar Youth, TTMAC, and MMOTR are just so fucking good! I still get blown away whenever they start!

  34. I feel sorry for the band. They wanted to headline a big rock festival type lineup and play stadiums. It was like the one last thing on their wish list for their career. Of course they’ll still continue and make music but this was what they told Crush was like the last thing left they felt they could still achieve. The timing just sucked for them. A lot of work went into the planning and promotion of this tour and between this and the poor album sales they didn’t get that one big victory they wanted. This era has been a mess. It still may happen or they may get another chance in the future but they also may just say screw it and start to wind down instead. Personally, I look forward to smaller shows and tours but it’s more for them that I feel bad.

  36. Is this thread anything but “I hope the virus makes this a solo tour” every 6 posts or so? I doubt they’d go to the trouble of scheduling and marketing this massive tour (which outside of the Green Day fandom would actually be considered a really good lineup) just to cancel it. They’ll reschedule it unless it’s completely impossible, and every other tour and event is in the same boat right now. It’s not like a global pandemic is an issue exclusively impacting this tour. Some of us do actually want to see the other bands...
