  1. I like how Billie's surprising us every week. These aren't covers that he's done before with the Longshot or the Coverups. They're not even bands that he's covered before, with the exception of Johnny Thunders. This really is completely new material for us and I'm really enjoying it.

  7. Man, I really want GD to play Are We the Waiting/St. Jimmy again live. I've been watching lots of GD videos and I always forget how fucking good that is. I wonder if Billie would still jump and run around as frenetically. He's always embodied St. Jimmy perfectly because that's part of him. He just transforms when he sings that. It's amazing to watch. It's like he was training for his Broadway role from the beginning. No one else can do that.

  9. The way I understand it, it sounds like itā€™s pro but thatā€™s meant to show how coaxing religion is, then the chorus is pretty straightforward, calling the religious sheep and jesus just a corpse on a cross.

  11. To me it sounds like being promised salvation if you follow all these rules and everyone buys into it but the person is thinking of their sins and hoping that itā€™s true and they get redemption someday.

  12. Very cool! I honestly didn't expect them to get #1 for Alternative, what with Billie Eilish just reaching #1 and the Killers getting #3 so quickly.

  13. This so much! Also, for me, Billie is far from inactive, he is very much active and sharing so much stuff and especially promotional stuff. All the live performances and one recorded cover a week is a treat for us. And for me, it's like the most I could emotionally handle, because each time I see something new my brain totally freaks out so I wouldn't need more, honestly. He's so awesome to keep that rate already.

  15. I'd be happier if it was anti-religion, which I guess it can be interpreted that way because of the sheep part? The Avengers are a secular band, so I'm assuming it's not pro religion. Weren't they a part of the Gilman Street scene when GD was first starting? Superb cover, though! Billie sounded absolutely fantastic! He just keeps getting better and better.

  19. They don't need an "excuse" though. If Billie just wanted to share fan covers, we wouldn't have any right to complain. That's actually a great thing to do in a time like this - not only is it keeping people motivated and occupied, but it's making everyone he reposts incredibly happy. It's a lot of work to find and repost them all too! I'm not personally interested in watching them all, but that doesn't make my preference (which would be more fabulous trilogy remixes) more valuable. Also, to be fair to Mike and Tre, very few people are genuinely interested in them outside of Green Day. Their management know that, which is why in a situation where the band can't get together, it's just Billie doing the promo.

  20. Okay fair, but Lenny on TV appearances and in music videos is even better šŸ™‚ And before someone says ā€œBuT MiKe aNd TrE hAvE KiDs!ā€ that hasnā€™t stopped Jimmy Fallon from doing his job, itā€™s only made it even better.

  21. Maybe he secretly is very, very strict with everything he eats to maintain his girlish figure so when he does allow himself cake, he really goes for it. šŸ˜‰šŸ˜

  22. I havent really been paying attention on these forums in a while, so not sure what info people have uncovered but I assume that hella mega will get postponed or even cancelled as I have smaller events around the same time all getting cancelled. In a way, (don't get me wrong, its sad either way), but I would prefer it gets cancelled. Hear me out, and i assume someone else may have mentioned this, but hella mega would've have been fun, but it was very expensive and stadium shows have never been my favourite. In an ideal world Hella mega would get cancelled or postponed and between now and the new hella mega dates there will be solo green day shows. This way the gigs will be either same price, but hopefully cheaper. Smaller crouds, hopefully not stadiums I wouldn't have to pay the price and/or fight for space with FOB or W fans. essentially I'm being optimistic that although this won't go ahead, something better will once the lock down is over. it will just happen like a year late... Also, my ticket choice was based off my where I stay for uni, which meant if the gig did go ahead, instead of a 1 hour commute, I'd be looking at 5Hrs+ and driving 5Hrs to stand for 5Hrs just to drive another 5Hrs+ doesn't seem that good of a night. also, we get our money back if its cancelled right?... Not sure if this is relevant, and in my eyes the shows are 100% cancelled, but they have stopped showing up for me under the YT videos. (the UK dates) and the only dates showing are US.

  24. No, they were pre-Gilman. They were late 70s in San Francisco. Billie also did a song with Penelope Houston (lead singer of the Avengers) in the 90s that was on an episode of Friends. The Avengers were talked about a lot in the book Gimme Something Better.

  26. I could listen to it finally lol I think it's very good when Billie shared this song, I didn't like the original version that much but I'll keep listening to his cover. Btw, I try to upload all the covers on SoundCloud to I can listen to them easily, wanted to share if anyone interested but 'I Think We're Alone Now' gets copyright warning, couldn't get why cause I uploaded before and deleted it to reupload in higher quality then it happened but I added a different upload to that playlist anyway

  33. Wow! This is my favorite of the lot, so far. I've got it on repeat, turning it up a little louder each time. I'd kill to see him play this backed by a band.

  36. Billie has an excuse at least. I donā€™t mind that heā€™s not posting much because I know heā€™s hard at work writing new songs, finishing remixes, recording covers, shooting videos and TV specials. That stuff makes me happy. I would much rather he keep doing all that than make shit posts about Lenny or sharing fifty fan covers. But Mike and Tre have no excuse whatsoever.

  38. Sis, hun. Thanks for the compliment. I've always been steady at saying my real thoughts, especially if they are unpopular. So glad they are, if you only knew. Last thing I want is to need a bunch of followers waiting to be told what to do, before posting any shit that matters to me. The whole convo about this was so unbalanced, people practically exclusively expressing worry for Billie, and that's already a way for them to assert what is good or bad for him. I just happen to have another opinion and said it, I don't see why making an effort to develop it instead of just launching that I'm worried - or not - for Billie is a problem. People don't need to read any post from anyone and I wasn't aggressive towards anyone. It was more the contrary. My posts on the same matter had already been misread and deformed several times in the other thread - with two people feeling the need to call me names several times in several posts. I'm not sure what was done about this, or even only how mods feel about this. If mods choose to close their eyes on some specific verbal assaults, I can't do anything about it, but stuff like that happening is really not propitious to have a real exchange going on, and it's disappointing. The fact you're quoting me for expressing my opinion, just because it was developed and unpopular on a touchy subject, is telling, nothing personal to you when I say that, bit it's telling as for the general ambiance about this and I think it's overall a shame that the ambiance is so. When people come to post stuff, developed or not, to say why they are worried for Billie in the current situation, no one is quoted for that. Even though these people include the ones who don't accept a different opinion. You still showed consideration for what I wrote so thanks for that.

  39. So far most of Billie's covers have been annoying 80s songs and making them tolerable, so this would definitely fit the bill.
