  1. So that's where the Billie in a tree picture came from. Wow! Billie looks like a feisty cat that doesn't like being picked up in that third to last one.

  2. So, just while I'm losing my mind with all the deadlines, saw these pics from Mike's 39th birthday party in 2011. I think more pics were shared in that time but could only find those and looks so much fun. Mike pole dancing and Billie having fun with cake and drawing more attention somehow? lol (by doing weird stuff probably) Yeah, I think everything seems great, when there is no any social distancing...

  3. Looks more like it was Billie's birthday than Mike's! šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

  4. I think everyone around Billie has to resist the urge to pick him up at various times. He seems very pick upable.

  5. I'm sure pretty much went hand in hand with Fall Out Boy's management, as they're know for doing these cash-grabbing events (anyone remember Hydra Fest?) Both bands are my favorites ever, but Hella Mega didn't start well. This is the tour of my dreams but for the money I spend in 2 dates and all the travel expenses, I'd rather have it back and see each one separately and enjoy a full set from both. After all, us as Green Day are fans are used to waiting longer than most for a tour, but in the end it is amazing and lasts more than the usual set most bands do. It will definitely be a loss for many. I love concerts and can't live without them, but let's be real, they won't get financially hurt at all by not touring stadiums in a while. I feel for smaller, independent bands, but literally 3 of the biggest bands in the world can hold on everything until life is the closest to what it was. Makes me miss the RevRad club tour. I wish they could do that again.

  6. I haven't listened to the album in about a month, so I put it on today and man, I still fucking love it. Sugar Youth, TTMAC, and MMOTR are just so fucking good! I still get blown away whenever they start!

  7. I agree and this one was from the same day. I think it could be only way to eat a birthday cake for Billie and also noticed heā€™s wearing his Ramones shirt inside out lol

  8. Not sure about that fact specifically (maybe @Todd can answer) but I do know from when I read it that there were a lot of facts that book got wrong. Good read overall but not perfect. I canā€™t wait for the memoir or authorized biography we are due some day.

  10. I felt like they were trying to cash in on the catalogue of hits as much as they could, with the overblown pricing and everything, so it looked like more of a business achievement than a career achievement, but I've see what you mean. They didn't get that much done this past decade, partly because of bad luck with Jason's and Britt's illness and it was really good to see things seemed to be getting back on track with revrad. So yeah, I'm sorry that there's another setback just when it seemed everything was going to be totally great forever. I'll be happy if they downsize instead, but I get that it sucks for them, just like for all musicians.

  11. I feel sorry for the band. They wanted to headline a big rock festival type lineup and play stadiums. It was like the one last thing on their wish list for their career. Of course theyā€™ll still continue and make music but this was what they told Crush was like the last thing left they felt they could still achieve. The timing just sucked for them. A lot of work went into the planning and promotion of this tour and between this and the poor album sales they didnā€™t get that one big victory they wanted. This era has been a mess. It still may happen or they may get another chance in the future but they also may just say screw it and start to wind down instead. Personally, I look forward to smaller shows and tours but itā€™s more for them that I feel bad.

  13. This is all so depressing. Fucking pandemic, ruining my chance to see Green Day for the first time. šŸ˜”

  14. Usually, I tend to overlook revival covers as gimmicky or just for the meme value, but I love how this came about so organically. You can genuinely tell Billie is doing this to give people something to look forward each week while keeping himself busy, so this time his ADHD is very much appreciated (even if he left FOAM orphan šŸ˜ž). And I'm especially excited that he's choosing all these 80's power pop hits with quarantine themes, I would love a studio version of "Dancing With Myself" with a Billy Idol appearance just to see Billie geek out about it. I've seen others mention The Cure and I'm totally on board, I'm thinking a song like "In-Between Days" would be really interesting and fitting, or Depeche Mode's "Enjoy the Silence" with a gritty twist. Though if I could chose any song, I would love a cover of Bow Wow Wow's "I Want Candy" or Siouxsie's "Kiss Them For Me" with a sultry delivery like his cover of Southern Girls, but a girl can only dream...

  15. This will probably happen but if hella mega gets cancelled, I doubt Green Day will do a solo stadium tour. I mean, new people will discover Interrupters but if they played stadiums it'd be a lot more

  16. I think the earliest dates at this point would be Australia in November. There's a slight chance that may happen, as Australia's infection rates are on the decline. However, I would still say it's doubtful as I would be surprised if Australia opens their borders before 2021. They won't do that until most countries are in the clear.

  17. I think promoters are still fighting and holding out right now to see what happens and keep everything on schedule. Yeah maybe itā€™s a small chance this tour doesnā€™t get postponed, but a small chance is still a chance. The only thing you can do right now is take it day by day until things get better and they are going to get better. Iā€™m optimistic in thinking things will get better sooner than later.

  18. I was thinking the same. who knows, maybe gd could take them as openers on the next tour if hella mega is cancelled šŸ™‚

  19. I'm a bit sad for The Interrupters. So many new people were going to listen to them... This tour was an opportunity of a lifetime for them

  20. I started reading Nobody Likes You yesterday since I've got time and I've been meaning to read it for a long time and @Beerjeezus made me remember that. Super good read! I didn't know that GD had a song named "Slappy". Was there ever a recording of that? Supposedly it was on the 39/Smooth EP, but I haven't heard it before. I have the 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours deluxe version and it's not on there.

  21. There isnā€™t going to be any hella mega shows in 2020 not in Europe, not in the states, not anywhere all weā€™ve to do is hope they put them on in 2021 and reschedule the tour fully. If not, weā€™re probably looking at an arena tour, with multiple cities missing out
    1 point
  22. I think at this point everyone will primary focus on containing losses and costs. If the three bands have interest in touring in 2021, and the locations/organizers are available to reschedule the dates instead of canceling them, this would be much easier and cheaper than organizing three different tours. Three tours that would most probably overlap in time and locations anyway. I think the main risk that could make a new Hella Mega hard to manage and handle is the uncertainty about whether having stadium concerts will still not be possibile in 2021. There are European conventions and festivals planned for next Autumn that most likely will be cancelled/virtualized, or heavily reimagined to guarantee some level of social distancing. Thereā€™s still no certainty about how long the immunity to the virus lasts, and whether in a one year time a vaccine will be widely available and used. The risk of postponing, promoting and then cancelling again a huge touring festival with three huge bands might be too big, and the costs of organizing three independent tours, shorter, possibly very different in terms of venue size and location, could be considered acceptable. At this point I think they are primarily watching and waiting for what countries do in terms of legislation. I imagine insurance/contractually-wise it makes a big difference whether there is a State legislation/official recommendation saying festivals canā€™t happen or a choice of the organizer/venue/band to cancel a show. I think this is why the EU tour is still not officially cancelled, while it clearly will not happen this year.

  24. Man Iā€™d so love to hear Billie do a cover of this song but I imagine he has never heard it . Itā€™s an 80ā€™s post punk /new wave band from Dublin Ireland called the Blades . itā€™s very much in the vein of covers he has done previously .. Tell me that you couldnā€™t hear Billie doing a great version of this .......that chorus is made for him !

  25. Don't tell him that please. I'm in the 1% that want those 3 bands tour

  26. And it should stay that way. We've seen the mustache on Billie and it was a no go for me.

  27. Now Billie and Jason White are the only ones without a mustache this era. The Beatles had a similar phase at one point

  28. Somehow this album went from cringeworthy expectations initially to an era defining status that is helping me (and hopefully all of us) survive the pandemic with a little more happiness. None of us will ever forget what weā€™re going through, and this album is the soundtrack of coping and support right now. Thank god they put this out and we have this to enjoy, I know itā€™s not big thing but itā€™s helping me tremendously. And seriously, having Billie play from home for us really does make a huge difference. As we work through this day by day, any little help along the way is huge, and Green Day is certainly helping right now.

  30. I know, he's going to have a full fro by the time this is done. And Billie- once and for all- get rid of those pants! He's had those since at least 2013 and I've always hated them.

  31. So, tell us - what is it thatā€™s really bothering you that you feel like you need to vent by being rude to people on a forum? We have plenty of threads in the advice forum where you can talk about how you feel and it may help.

  32. I love the record šŸ’š It's so far from being American Idiot 2, or whatever Billie was talking about ('cause I think Green Day doesn't repeat things that way) but it's a great one. Two things I don't like: it's too short šŸ˜„ and Billie's voice went through a lot of filters, I like hearing a clearer sound of it... When Green Day says this a record is to make people dance, that's exactly what I needed and they didn't disappoint me. And when Green Day says that school is for suckers not only they're right, it also makes me feel so good singing it because I always felt that way. And that's why I Was A Teenage Teenager is my fav. But Meet Me On The Roof though šŸ˜ And Graffitia too, it's so different to everything. Stab You In The Heart is how I feel very often... Well, like I said I love all 10 šŸ’ššŸ’ššŸ’š
