I think at this point everyone will primary focus on containing losses and costs. If the three bands have interest in touring in 2021, and the locations/organizers are available to reschedule the dates instead of canceling them, this would be much easier and cheaper than organizing three different tours. Three tours that would most probably overlap in time and locations anyway. I think the main risk that could make a new Hella Mega hard to manage and handle is the uncertainty about whether having stadium concerts will still not be possibile in 2021. There are European conventions and festivals planned for next Autumn that most likely will be cancelled/virtualized, or heavily reimagined to guarantee some level of social distancing. There’s still no certainty about how long the immunity to the virus lasts, and whether in a one year time a vaccine will be widely available and used. The risk of postponing, promoting and then cancelling again a huge touring festival with three huge bands might be too big, and the costs of organizing three independent tours, shorter, possibly very different in terms of venue size and location, could be considered acceptable. At this point I think they are primarily watching and waiting for what countries do in terms of legislation. I imagine insurance/contractually-wise it makes a big difference whether there is a State legislation/official recommendation saying festivals can’t happen or a choice of the organizer/venue/band to cancel a show. I think this is why the EU tour is still not officially cancelled, while it clearly will not happen this year.5 points

So, just while I'm losing my mind with all the deadlines, saw these pics from Mike's 39th birthday party in 2011. I think more pics were shared in that time but could only find those and looks so much fun. Mike pole dancing and Billie having fun with cake and drawing more attention somehow? lol (by doing weird stuff probably) Yeah, I think everything seems great, when there is no any social distancing...3 points

There isn’t going to be any hella mega shows in 2020 not in Europe, not in the states, not anywhere all we’ve to do is hope they put them on in 2021 and reschedule the tour fully. If not, we’re probably looking at an arena tour, with multiple cities missing out2 points

From Citi Field's website: Important Update Following updated recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and limits set by the State of New York regarding non-essential gatherings, a number of non-baseball related events hosted at Citi Field will be postponed, rescheduled or cancelled in accordance with that guidance. Metropolitan Hospitality will continue to proactively monitor current events in conjunction with medical experts and government officials. We will keep attendees updated on decisions regarding plans for rescheduling these events in the weeks ahead. Tickets will be valid for newly rescheduled dates once they have been determined. When updated official information becomes available, Metropolitan Hospitality will communicate it to event attendees promptly and through a variety of channels, including Twitter (@CitiField) and on our website at MetropolitanHospitality.com. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we collectively navigate through this challenging time. i dont know if hella mega is postponed. hope it is not. I am so sad bout this2 points

I just need enough restrictions lifted to move my kids out from where they’re staying and bring them here and that’s all I care about right now.2 points

I can't see my province opening up until July, ugh. I mean I don't want to go into public if it's not safe and that's number one, but I miss my job. I miss going to bars and shows and seeing my friends. 😭2 points

This is all so depressing. Fucking pandemic, ruining my chance to see Green Day for the first time. 😡2 points

I really don't see large shows like this being allowed to go ahead until a vaccine is developed... which is approximately a year away. I hope we can see these shows in 2021 but I think it boils down to the timeline of a vaccine. Fingers crossed...2 points

Yes but what if the likelihood of postponement again in a year is so high that insurance companies won’t cover your new dates if you reschedule to 2021? They have coverage for these shows but the cost for coverage for the new dates could be much higher if they can even get it.2 points

my guess is: hella mega will be cancelled, GD shows will be moved somehow to 2021, but imo GD will take care of the cities hella mega was supposed to take place and try to find alternative dates/locations where they could play GD-only shows in 20212 points

Maybe if the “no gatherings” ban is changed back to the “100 people” policy I can get my club tour2 points

After I (finally) got ready this morning, I had Wild One playing in the car as I made quick trip to my office, and I realized that I was this line in the song: "All dressed up and nowhere to go..." This is how I feel anytime I put on more than leggings and a t-shirt for the day. Ugh... this work from home life sucks.1 point

That's not how being a musician works. If you were to tell David Bowie that years ago his career would have been over by 1980 and we would have never gotten Blackstar which is probably the greatest 2010's record along with Clockwork Angels.1 point

It’s funny how in the first one the headphones are so big on him they’re all you see and in the second they are made almost invisible by his hair 😄1 point
