Yeah I just saw it: https://www.billboard.com/articles/business/chart-beat/9353042/billie-joe-armstrong-i-think-were-alone-now-cover-chart-debut I think you can read the full article via google here: https://www.google.it/amp/s/www.billboard.com/amp/articles/business/chart-beat/9353042/billie-joe-armstrong-i-think-were-alone-now-cover-chart-debut Apparently Crush is prompting the song on the radio as well: “The song by the Green Day frontman, being promoted to radio via Crush Music, is an ode to social distancing amid the global COVID-19 pandemic.“6 points

Totally. If times were great right now, I’d probably like Junkies in a casual way like so many of their songs. But times aren’t so great, and the song is incredibly powerful/ relatable and almost eerie with foresight. That one line (and the bass line accompanying it) about watching the world burn, that’s hitting hard right now. Wow. Stay safe and healthy all.6 points

I think for one of these he should release his recording of I Am A Rock with a video because it’s pretty appropriate right now. “Hiding in my room, safe within my womb/I touch no one and no one touches me”4 points

And it should stay that way. We've seen the mustache on Billie and it was a no go for me.4 points

Since it's National Unicorn Day... And of course, the original.3 points

He probably is, I’m just listening to all the Longshot stuff and I’m connecting with so much of it right now. New covers are great I’m just so appreciative of him for all this music 😍3 points

Honestly Billie's musical style fits these older songs so well. Now I know why the Longshot worked. GD needs to try these classic sounds.3 points

After I (finally) got ready this morning, I had Wild One playing in the car as I made quick trip to my office, and I realized that I was this line in the song: "All dressed up and nowhere to go..." This is how I feel anytime I put on more than leggings and a t-shirt for the day. Ugh... this work from home life sucks.2 points

Maybe if the “no gatherings” ban is changed back to the “100 people” policy I can get my club tour2 points
-
Thanks for reminding me about it! I Am A Rock sounds great with his voice I guess it depends on whether or not he’s strictly recording new covers or not2 points

I’d say he has that “fuck everything it’s the apocalypse party” mood and finally we’re on the same page2 points

I'm not sure what's more adorable - Lenny or the fact that Billie has a chihuahua called Lenny.2 points

Yet. The world will have to return to normal someday, even if it is a year from now. It’s not like these arenas will sit empty forever, whether it’s concerts or sporting events. At this point I think it’s safe to assume they’re just getting their ducks in a row for a postponement announcement.2 points

I see a Billboard headline that I Think We’re Alone Now has entered the adult pop song chart at no 28 but can’t access article. Would that be unusual, it must just be from Youtube views?2 points

The delay on cancelling Hella Mega London/Huddersfield suggests they're working on rescheduling everything to me.2 points

Look I will just say it would be nice if Hella Mega never happens and we got the Father of All Motherfucking Tours.2 points

I agree, FOAM is the perfect apocalypse soundtrack. I felt that from the first moment I got to listen to the full record, that's why I never got the "fun, dance and party record" concept everyone was talking about. It's not a party record, not at all. More like a party gone very sour very fast. The line that sums it up perfectly for me is "As we watch the world burn" from Junkies. I mean, wow.1 point
-
I agree 100%. FOAM has a one-liner for my personal life, "Meet me on the roof my girlfriend, in the suburbs of graffitia". It has helped me a lot during these times, including making stupid FOAM album song covers, but which I enjoy. Add No Fun Mondays, Otis remixes, and we have a whole full Green Day apocalyptic era!1 point

He's right though, that won't make you an artist if you base your music on what people want.1 point
-
Anyway, would be nice if Hella Mega went on as a regular Green Day tour1 point

Those gifs are so good and these two photos are almost 45 years apart but the cuteness and baby face never really change somehow1 point

I agree so much with @TimmyChunks. I am in a really weird position and if anything, it’s the weekends I’m finding hardest so to know Monday will bring a new song is just great. Even better to know there is a live performance coming!1 point
