Somehow this album went from cringeworthy expectations initially to an era defining status that is helping me (and hopefully all of us) survive the pandemic with a little more happiness. None of us will ever forget what we’re going through, and this album is the soundtrack of coping and support right now. Thank god they put this out and we have this to enjoy, I know it’s not big thing but it’s helping me tremendously. And seriously, having Billie play from home for us really does make a huge difference. As we work through this day by day, any little help along the way is huge, and Green Day is certainly helping right now.10 points

I just had to make these gifs from the Manic Monday video. His look in this one is just 😍 Checking on Lenny And this one is just a requirement9 points

Those gifs are so good and these two photos are almost 45 years apart but the cuteness and baby face never really change somehow7 points

Look I will just say it would be nice if Hella Mega never happens and we got the Father of All Motherfucking Tours.6 points

Is this thread anything but “I hope the virus makes this a solo tour” every 6 posts or so? I doubt they’d go to the trouble of scheduling and marketing this massive tour (which outside of the Green Day fandom would actually be considered a really good lineup) just to cancel it. They’ll reschedule it unless it’s completely impossible, and every other tour and event is in the same boat right now. It’s not like a global pandemic is an issue exclusively impacting this tour. Some of us do actually want to see the other bands...5 points

I agree, FOAM is the perfect apocalypse soundtrack. I felt that from the first moment I got to listen to the full record, that's why I never got the "fun, dance and party record" concept everyone was talking about. It's not a party record, not at all. More like a party gone very sour very fast. The line that sums it up perfectly for me is "As we watch the world burn" from Junkies. I mean, wow.4 points

He's right though, that won't make you an artist if you base your music on what people want.4 points

They should just cancel and do a normal tour next year instead of this stupid stadium package.4 points

I agree so much with @TimmyChunks. I am in a really weird position and if anything, it’s the weekends I’m finding hardest so to know Monday will bring a new song is just great. Even better to know there is a live performance coming!3 points

The delay on cancelling Hella Mega London/Huddersfield suggests they're working on rescheduling everything to me.2 points

I really don’t think it has anything to do with the HM tour either. People are reading too much into this.2 points

It’s funny how in the first one the headphones are so big on him they’re all you see and in the second they are made almost invisible by his hair 😄2 points

Yeah, we’re all, “Oh now I get it” in the worst way 🙁2 points

I agree 100%. FOAM has a one-liner for my personal life, "Meet me on the roof my girlfriend, in the suburbs of graffitia". It has helped me a lot during these times, including making stupid FOAM album song covers, but which I enjoy. Add No Fun Mondays, Otis remixes, and we have a whole full Green Day apocalyptic era!2 points

I LOVE his 21CB hair, but I also love his natural curls. I see them as equally sexy in their own way.2 points

Now Billie and Jason White are the only ones without a mustache this era. The Beatles had a similar phase at one point1 point

I really hope that these come to Spotify as an album or EP once this is all over and he is done with No Fun Monday's.1 point

Loving No Fun Mondays. I was never a fan of Manic Monday or I Think We're Alone Now, but Billie's covers of them are great. I'd like to hear him cover More Than This (Roxy Music) and Learning to Fly (Tom Petty).1 point

Exactly. Canceling this could be the only good thing to come out of coronavirus.1 point

I just love him so much (They cut his little smile at the end when uploaded to YT)1 point

Joey is worse. He constantly posts stories & actual posts then deletes them within like an hour.1 point

I hate it when Billie posts something and then deletes it. That's what we, unpopular people do 😅 Seriously, he's the only one I follow that does that.1 point

And when I first heard Father Of All I had a hard time convincing myself that was him, but then he said that Tré told him to sing like Prince...? Anyway, these new styles he's trying, he should try them a little less, lol Thank you! It's good to be back for a new record!!1 point

Not sure how we missed the No Fun Monday's post on Billie's insta earlier...1 point

I love the record 💚 It's so far from being American Idiot 2, or whatever Billie was talking about ('cause I think Green Day doesn't repeat things that way) but it's a great one. Two things I don't like: it's too short 😄 and Billie's voice went through a lot of filters, I like hearing a clearer sound of it... When Green Day says this a record is to make people dance, that's exactly what I needed and they didn't disappoint me. And when Green Day says that school is for suckers not only they're right, it also makes me feel so good singing it because I always felt that way. And that's why I Was A Teenage Teenager is my fav. But Meet Me On The Roof though 😍 And Graffitia too, it's so different to everything. Stab You In The Heart is how I feel very often... Well, like I said I love all 10 💚💚💚1 point

I'd say that goes to Sugar Youth or Graffitia but its up there!1 point

It’s definitely a difficult situation. I’m working from home for the foreseeable future. My “office” is my dining room of an 800 sq ft 1 bedroom apartment. I feel couped up, I haven’t had face to face conversations in over a week. Most of my family isn’t worried about what’s going on. I’m not freaking out, but I it seems like every hour I’m getting a new alert from my work that something has changed and I can’t keep up. I’m battle against a current that I can’t win.1 point
