Ordinary World is supposed to be available on Netflix for the US now. I don't live in the US, but I'm so happy this movie gets more attention. More people will see how good Billie is as an actor and how cute he is. On another subject, I found this picture and I never saw it before. I love it when Billie does photobomb and he looks adorable in this one.6 points

Finally found the 1997 Total Guitar scans after digging around a bit: The Telecaster on the second page is Candy Apple Red, not the maroon color I had listed. I also think it's a bit ironic that Billie proceeds to say "Strats are just the hardest to break. Les Pauls are so wimpy - you can smash them instantly..." and two years later begins to play Gibson almost exclusively. Plus, he's not wrong. Strats are damn near bulletproof.3 points

I love being at the kids table during holidays. We have coloring activities at my families "kids" tables (all of us "kids" are in our mid 20s and up).3 points

He looks like he was sentenced to the kids' table on Thanksgiving.3 points

It's not Milton Keynes because that didn't happen then and they said their biggest American show. I believe from memory it was Giants Stadium3 points

Very nice review. Comparing a BJA song to the great shake after the pee is the highest compliment2 points

Yeah, I meant the biggest American Show where Mike got sick. I just couldn’t catch he said Giants Stadium in the video. Btw, there is the dick joke part in that video but it’s censored lol2 points

So I'm planning to send an email to Fender regarding their involvement in Billie's guitars from the nimrod era/tour cycle. I'm going to include this picture for reference: The main guitar I'm going to be asking about is the Blue to his left (with the left handed bridge, my profile pic) in regards to its origin and the neck. I also wonder if they supplied him with any stock guitars as way of getting his attention and as stated before, if they tried to get him on their artist roster. If anyone has any other questions I should include, drop them here!2 points

Listening to the album more, I think some of the songs are a bit underwritten (and therefore unsatisfying even if I like them) and the rest spot on structurally speaking (they feel complete). Underwritten: FRA - Needs something more, not sure what. Longer bridge maybe, or some additional lyrics with less repetition. It's just too short. IWATT: This one may be the most frustrating. It's so repetitive and therefore unnecessarily long. I'm tempted to skip it except that I love the one verse and chorus it has, but it then proceeds to repeat the same verse twice and chorus three times with little change to the music. Even the bridge is just a repeat of the melody. This song had great potential I wish it had a second verse and a lyrical bridge and did not repeat the chorus three times without changes to the lyrics. It's a great one minute idea played out for almost four. Sugar Youth: Almost as frustrating as IWATT but in some ways more so because I love love love this song. I just wish it had a bridge and the chorus (which is phenomenal) returned at the end of it. It would have made an already great song perfect. Graffitia: If I had my pick for longest song on the record, it would have been this one. IWATT doesn't deserve to be nearly four minutes but Graffitia definitely does. Again a second verse or a bridge, just a more interesting structure overall to go with what already is a great start. Spot on structurally speaking, wouldn't change a thing: FOAM (other than cutting back on the falsetto by about 50%), Oh Yeah, MMOTR, SYITH, JOAH, TTMAC1 point

Scans from Rolling Stone USA ( February ). It's the same article already published online: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-lists/billie-joe-armstrong-green-day-my-life-937805/1 point

Here's Armatage Shanks in Leeds and Chula Vista: I haven't watched any of the Madrid videos but the sound doesn't seem too bad on this one of I Was There1 point

I agree and I’d apply the same to all other FOAM songs (maybe except for Oh Yeah, unless it improves ). They sound like great live songs. TTMAC, Graffitia, MMOTR, Junkies, Sugar Youth... they all slap. I’ve overcome the bitching stage and now I appreciate Green Day for what it is1 point

I was just watching Ordinary World again😊 dear lord, Billie looks so damn hot in that movie 🥴 especially in that first scene where they are playing the show.😍 i know what my new phone wallpaper is gonna be now heh😏1 point

That's just what Green Day needs: an accomplished producer that challenges them. Butch Walker brought a slightly new sound, but he's also an admitted GD fanboy who sounds like a bit of a "yes man." But of course GD needs to actually WANT to challenge themselves like they did on AI or 21CB.1 point

And I am honestly glad that he did because that is one of my all-time favorite GD songs1 point

I’ve watched this at least three times lol cause it is so adorable to see they’re being weird and hanging together like bunch of teenagers. I wasn't into them at that time but it seemed like a really good era for them and also fans cause they seemed really genuine and even like friendly with the fans in some way especially through those live streams. Those two he went live from the backstage are my favorites too:1 point

I'll give Lenny # 2 to this. Of course, we could just combine the two best things of the era.1 point

I miss them on social media. Even that's been lackluster and lame1 point

Let's celebrate his blondness and fluffiness! Yes, it's black here, but his floof is off the charts so I had to include it.1 point

Much appreciated. I'm still fangirling over my own photos!1 point

As soon as BJ said this was going to be a greatest hits tour I stopped listening to the album.1 point

I know it's off topic, but re-recording their first two albums would be so unnecessary. That's energy they should put into new music instead.1 point
