I'll give Lenny # 2 to this. Of course, we could just combine the two best things of the era.5 points

Let's celebrate his blondness and fluffiness! Yes, it's black here, but his floof is off the charts so I had to include it.4 points

Also known on the family friendly radio as "hold him underwater till he suffocates and drowns" š¤£3 points

I love it! I made a B/K calendar, and this is actually one of the pics for March! Along with other stills from the same video of Billie staring at Kevin's lips.3 points

Missing the boys so much . Got my fingers crossed that the Hella Mega tour happens, after a crappy 2019 I hoped seeing GD this year would make this year a happier one than last year.3 points

Iāve watched this at least three times lol cause it is so adorable to see theyāre being weird and hanging together like bunch of teenagers. I wasn't into them at that time but it seemed like a really good era for them and also fans cause they seemed really genuine and even like friendly with the fans in some way especially through those live streams. Those two he went live from the backstage are my favorites too:2 points

Even though it's so obvious that the lyrics to Stab are "pictures don't lie" I always get this image in my head of Shakira and I hear "hips dont lie" instead. Hips don't lie when you're front page news... And I don't even listen to Shakira lmao2 points

I always hated the Rising part and only used it because for some reason (I can't remember) I couldn't just use RedWolf without adding something else to it.2 points

I think about American Idiot on Broadway all the time. I was getting work done this morning and I got distracted by reminiscing about this fucking thing again! It was and probably always will be one of my most amazing experiences. Every time I'm in New York I go and stand outside the theatre and remember crying when the show ended. I even have a recurring dream about it returning to Broadway for a week with Billie as St. Jimmy and being back there looking at the American Idiot sign (not Frozen... it's Green Day's theatre! ) again. I'm such a fucking saddo, help It was a liberating experience though. I was in this big city on the other side of the world and that mirrored the show I had the privilege of keep seeing. There was no lining up or related drama. It would've been easy to abuse the lack of security but no one tried. They just enjoyed the show. We met so many kind and normal fans who weren't after anything more than seeing a life-changing album come to life as a Broadway musical. I'm so happy I have the theatre tattooed on me I still love the soundtrack but I do wish there was a version with Billie as St. Jimmy.1 point

I've was at Waves.com buying some new plug-ins and I am sure you guys have seen this but I never have so maybe not. In the demo of the CLA (Chris Lorde Alge), the engineer for Vig and one of the greatest rock engineers (not producers) of today. If you go to waves.com and watch any of the "CLA" video tutorials for the VST (virtual effects and plug ins) (CLA being Chris Lorde Ange) he uses BOBD as the thing to show how he likes to track his vocals. I thought some of you would be interested in watching the tutorials even though they probably use mostly hardware but nowadays the VSTs are getting almost as good as the hardware. I would say it's not far off from being standard. He certainly makes a case for it here in showing off some of his techniques. Here is the vocal CLA plug-in but there is also one for bass, guitar, and mastering. It's pretty cool to watch him. Vig also has a deal with Waves and if you go to his plug in package (just search for it on the site) you can hear him make the very similar sound to what many call that thin sound which is a VIG signature in some other artists, including his own band Garbage, sound exactly like many of the tracks that he produced for GD. Here is Chris talking about his vocal plug in. Go to the site if you want to see more (if you are an aspiring producer/engineer), this is a good guy to listen to. He won Grammys for AI and TCBD.1 point

So while there is something pretty cool about Green Day randomly releasing songs when they're ready, I also kind of hate it. I would really love to see an album behind it, but I guess I'm old school and just love albums more so than standalone singles.1 point

Been listening to all my GD music on shuffle while driving lately and boy does that "you can take a walk or you can suck my cock" line get me every time when Take the Money and Crawl comes on! š I really like that song.1 point

When you're watching Colbert with your parents and he shows a clip of Mike Bloomberg saying something about a "naked cowboy in New York" and you pause it to tell them about that time Billie was wearing nothing but underwear and a cowboy hat with his guitar outside the St. James theater. He was an almost naked cowboy in NY. š1 point

Billie Joe lives in catacombs and deals blood on the black market. Oh God, please let me escape the horrors of Billie Joe's mind! Let me get back on topic. It's been 30+ years since the horrors began. Let's see how things are going in Literal Green Day land in the lovely 20's.... Billie Joe is choking, being poisoned and losing his mind in blood and money. Oh joy! Dogs are being abused, liars are getting off work and young people are exaggerating! Does anything good ever happen to poor, poor Billie Joe Armstrong? He's an alien, which I guess isn't a negative thing. I wonder what planet he's from. On Sugar Youth, things get REALLY bad. Billie Joe is fighting in a civil war inside a boom box and he doesn't have The Cure. He's dying of a fever, but that's the least of his worries. Because being on fire is his most urgent problem. I'm surprised he even knows he has the shakes. WOW, I'm having way too much fun taking Green Day literally. Currently reading the lyrics to Dirty Rotten Bastards and thinking what a messed up movie the plot would make. GEEEEEESE In Youngblood, Billie Joe is married to a tree that is haunted by Miss Teresa. But a supernova is going to kill everyone so it's fine. But before the supernova, Billie takes his Tree Wife and uses her as a gun to shoot the moon into the Sun! Which would kill her but pretty sure it wouldn't effect the Sun at all. Now our tides are screwy, but again. Supernova is the biggest issues in this song.1 point

Yea! It looks like downward looking Billie (that sounds like a yoga pose) is all suspicious of upward looking Billie.1 point

Shitty couple of days, so I need some Billie hugs. And let's toss a puppy hug in for good measure.1 point

I agree. Itās hyperbole / an ironic take at their past and the expectations that come with it. However, Iām not sure if itās universally understandable. To most people it likely just looks weird.1 point

I know and that makes no sense at this point, so much time has passed since that album. And it's not supposed to be everyone's fave GD album, they have so much material and only good (great) material, that comparing every new album to AI is like omitting the quality of the rest. I'd personally put quite a few of their albums above or at least at the level of AI: RevRad, TrƩ, Uno, 21CB and Warning. In short, all the albums that came around and after AI are at least as good as AI to me. And whatever the personal preferences, Green Day have always been so good at reinventing themselves without losing their quality and sound identity. Back on topic, I've listened to Foam album today in the first time for like 10 days. And I had a blast, it's just so good I don't love it at the same level as my very fave GD albums; but I don't need to love it that much to get crazy listening to it. To me it's a bit like Dos, there are some songs that I absolutely adore and some that I just enjoy. But it's an album that ought to be heard as a whole, it makes it so much better.1 point
-
Yes absolutely! I think one of the great things about those guys is that you never know what they're up to next, they're a bag full of surprises. Especially Graffitia totally has that epic, anthem-like, 21CB-esque vibe. I was dead serious about wanting a Graffitia-themed concept album.1 point
-
ThatĀ“s true. I was expecting they might go for a 21CB follow-up but FOAM is no disappointment. In the end itās a fun album and thatās what matters.1 point
-
Yeah youāre right but that still makes it a good and enjoyable album. I get that it isnāt everyoneās cup of tea but I just donāt see whereās all the hate coming from1 point
-
I have a feeling this album has a better reception outside of the narrow circle of the fandom. Most reviews were from OK to positive.1 point
-
Yeah I don't really mind its length but I still think one, maybe two more songs would've made the album feel more complete. Otherwise I still love it. Makes me sad that it's being precieved as a flop. And the extreme hate is...wow. I get not liking it but some of these reviews are just over the top brutal.1 point

Yeah every time I talked about Green Day I usually get the "Oh they're still making music?" response and it's just baffling. Like is there some sort expiration date on artists? After a certain age you just assume they stop making music? Weird.1 point
