  1. I'll give Lenny # 2 to this. Of course, we could just combine the two best things of the era.

  2. Lenny >>>> everything else this era

  3. Let's celebrate his blondness and fluffiness! Yes, it's black here, but his floof is off the charts so I had to include it.

  8. Yeah Father and Oh Yeah have been the only singles so far. FRA was definitely only a promotional release. At this point so is MMOTR unless that changes later. But it would be unusual to release a video for a song and then put it out as a single later. I would say single three (if they even release one) will be something else from the album. Personally I think MMOTR would be the best choice from what's left. It's catchy and would play well on radio.

  11. Nimrod is super impressive given that the lyrics were written in studio.

  13. Today listening love is for loosers. Taxi Driver should be a Green Day song... Much better that first nine tracks of FOAM

  19. Missing the boys so much . Got my fingers crossed that the Hella Mega tour happens, after a crappy 2019 I hoped seeing GD this year would make this year a happier one than last year.

  20. Hmm that might look like (in no particular order) --cult hero --happiness --turn me loose --KYF --soul surrender --taxi driver --sugar youth --graffitia --oh yeah --take the money and crawl --FRA --goodbye to romance 12 songs to make it more fulfilling. That would be a kickass album!

  21. If he held off on Longshot and then still wrote the FOAMF songs then they'd have the choice to select which tracks to include. So technically you could swap out your least favourite longshot tracks and swap in your favourite foamf tracks

  22. I reviewed this book and it's really great! I highly recommend it! If I remember, it features new interviews with the guys, so it's doesn't frame a narrative using old interviews.

  23. Junkies On A High would have been a better choice than Oh Yeah. MMOTR has single potential I agree with that. That's it. GD during American Idiot had a great strategy where they were able to dish out singles that found airplay on different types of stations. If there's a recipe for success for GD that's the one. They have a diverse audience but have had trouble reaching the non-hardcore fans since the beginning of the decade that just past.

  24. Singles are such a dated thing nowadays anyway. Anything they put on YouTube or streaming might as well be a single. I think "officially" it depends on what they send to radio stations.

  26. I've was at Waves.com buying some new plug-ins and I am sure you guys have seen this but I never have so maybe not. In the demo of the CLA (Chris Lorde Alge), the engineer for Vig and one of the greatest rock engineers (not producers) of today. If you go to waves.com and watch any of the "CLA" video tutorials for the VST (virtual effects and plug ins) (CLA being Chris Lorde Ange) he uses BOBD as the thing to show how he likes to track his vocals. I thought some of you would be interested in watching the tutorials even though they probably use mostly hardware but nowadays the VSTs are getting almost as good as the hardware. I would say it's not far off from being standard. He certainly makes a case for it here in showing off some of his techniques. Here is the vocal CLA plug-in but there is also one for bass, guitar, and mastering. It's pretty cool to watch him. Vig also has a deal with Waves and if you go to his plug in package (just search for it on the site) you can hear him make the very similar sound to what many call that thin sound which is a VIG signature in some other artists, including his own band Garbage, sound exactly like many of the tracks that he produced for GD. Here is Chris talking about his vocal plug in. Go to the site if you want to see more (if you are an aspiring producer/engineer), this is a good guy to listen to. He won Grammys for AI and TCBD.

  27. he mentioned it in CUATRO that nimrod was a 'lyrical nightmare' and did not want to go through that again.

  35. So while there is something pretty cool about Green Day randomly releasing songs when they're ready, I also kind of hate it. I would really love to see an album behind it, but I guess I'm old school and just love albums more so than standalone singles.

  36. What I don’t understand is they have seven extra songs from FOAM and Billie said he’s written three more since September. He and Mike both keep talking about how they are free now and could release a single or an EP any time they want to. Mike said they could write a song in the morning and release it that night. All that sounds wonderful but then Billie says they will maybe release more music this summer or 2021? How does that sound anything like what they’re talking about? They just canceled part of their tour and are doing nothing. Tens of thousands of disappointed fans. Why not release music now? The songs are done what is stopping them? They talk about how great it is to have the freedom to do that but then they don’t do it, instead they say they’ll “maybe” release a song or something in 6-12 months?? That is nowhere near the same thing.

  43. Ok, it is a serious issue and we should all be careful. I get it. I just wish we'd talk just as much about all the refugees who are drowning in the mediterranen sea daily. Just to name one example. It feels as if the media and some politicians have double standards here. I think it was the right decision to cancel the Asian dates for now. And hopefully the rest of the tours isn't at risk. We'll see. Right now, I wouldn't be too worried.
