  1. On the topic of hands and interviews, I had nothing better to do than make those gifs. Billie's hands living their life

  2. I made an album cover for foamf leftovers 😂 I would love Billie to see that 😆

  3. I’ve listened to it 6 times front to back since 7 am in this morning. It could be one of the easiest albums to listen and really makes you want to listen to more. SYITH is stuck in my head so much. I still really love FOA but whole album doesn’t sound like that, it starts and turning into something different. It’s really like a trip.

  5. I started listening to more Weezer when they announced the tour and I’ve come to like quite a lot of it so that’ll be fine. I’ve seen the Interrupters and they’re one of my favorite bands. FOB will be the longest bathroom/food/merch break ever. To me, they’re as stab my eardrum with an icepick annoying as PanicATD. Both of them make we want to run away screaming.

  8. I've reached the point where i don't care as much anymore. People tend to forget that time passes, they're still comparing Green Day as if they were the same people who made Dookie or American Idiot but they can't be. They've been together for more than 30 years now, they're almost 50! People grow up, people change and to me Green Day were always supposed to be much more than just a punk rock band. Would you rather have a band that tries something different or a band that keeps making the same music over and over again? Nothing wrong with either of the two but Green Day have always been the first case. I don't really mind the new album, i don't love it and i don't hate it. There are a few interesting songs and who knows? Maybe in the future i will rediscover some of them like i did with the trilogy. The effort they putted on this reminds me of the latest NOFX albums. Fat Mike clearly said: "We didn't try really hard but people still like us, so...cool!" They're well aware this isn't nowhere near their best albums, but at this point in their life they just want to have fun making music, they don't have nothing to prove to anyone. The big question is how can a punk rock band get old?

  11. I keep seeing posts that say “I love it but I think most people hate it” How can that be if everyone is saying they love it? I think it’s a skewed view of social media posts that are giving this impression but without a poll or something there is no way to tell anecdotally based on social media what “the vast majority of fans think”. Certainly most fans here would rate the album well. Haters can be a loud minority on social media because they get clicks, likes and attention and the more of these you view, the more the algorithms will show you. It confirms your bias and gives you a skewed view of reality.

  12. I personally don't even care that melodies from non Green Day songs are used, it's when he recycles used Green Day songs that disappoints me, I don't mind when it's older albums, but on the same album multiple times? Yeah that's a little much. I have said in the past that I'd give it a 7, but I am pretty happy with a final score of 6. I would have rated this album higher than a 6 if it: 1: Wasn't filled with repetitive melodies. 2: Was a little longer, maybe 3 tracks or so would have done it. 3: Didn't have such god-awful fan insulting cover art, I don't care if it's a troll album or not, there's just no excuse here. 4: Didn't have those stupid pew pew laser sounds on some of the best bangers (This is a Rock 'n' Roll album, I don't wanna hear that shit). Keep in mind that 6 isn't bad, most of the songs here are quite solid, but to me it's still only slightly above average. When compared to even the trilogy albums this just doesn't cut it musically, and the overall presentation of the album along with its terrible marketing certainly doesn't help give a good impression (Billie, try to at least be somewhat sober next time you are going to announce a freaking album). I am interested to see what the leftover songs are since they "didn't really fit on the album", from what I understand it's probably going to be an EP right? "Son of the Father of all Motherfuckers" is what I am gonna use as a placeholder name for this.

  13. Brilliant. Yes he borrows some old melodies in songs like graffitia (the clash bank robber) and sugar youth (she’s a rebel), but that’s the fun in it all. No strings fun rock n roll. They don’t wanna make a part 2/ copy albums from their past. Boring for them and boring for us

  21. They also did The Price is Right so I guess they’re doing the game show circuit. I’m glad they’re doing this stuff so Green Day doesn’t have to 😜 Could you imagine Billie having to think fast to answer on Family Feud? He’d be like “I dunno...uuuuhhhhh.... help me out Tre” 😂

  22. My only complaint is just when you’re getting into it it ends. I would have put just two more songs on it and it would have been perfect. Billie said he picked these ten because they were his ten favorite and he was able to sequence them nicely. But out of the remaining seven he had to have had just two more he also really liked and could have included? In the interviews today it sounds like they are free agents. I hope they release a few more songs soon. I’ll make a playlist and pretend the album is longer 😄

  25. Don’t agree with @Gonzalo17 it’s like a burst of adrenaline, the more I listen, the more I think it’s like all the main classic rock updated and perfectly suited to this period where everyone’s attention span is about 3 minutes. While I would like more music, it would lessen the impact of it.

  31. I'm not sure how I'd feel seeing Green Day on Family Feud. It would be weird and awkward....but probably funny! Tre would always answer with something inappropriate, Mike would probably try and answer sincerely, and Billie would get stuck on his own words "Uh....you know....like...one of those......things.....a rocket, I dunno. Fuck it."

  33. My plan is to enjoy Weezer's set, hit up the bathroom and the merch tent when FOB takes the stage, go back to my seat and turn on Muse on my iPhone so I can pretend they're playing instead for however long FOB have left, then enjoy GD. Also, I have it from a very good source that as nice a guy as Brendon Urie is with his fans, he's an absolute dick to those he knows, and there's a reason he's the only member of Panic at the Disco.

  34. This, and honestly, also on social media, I see a lot of comments of people disliking it, but then most of them have many replies arguing the opposite. I mean, estimating how this is received by the fanbase through social media is literally impossible. Of course there are negative reactions, more than with records like RevRad. But I don’t think anyone, including the band, expected anything different considering the nature of the record. I am much more (pleasantly) surprised to see a good reception among many professional reviewers and magazines that in the recent past didn’t loose occasion to trash the band’s work.

  35. Thinking about their shows, they really really don't need two pre-recorded songs playing. Ditch Bohemian Rhapsody and stick with the Ramones. Show starts sooner and it may leave room for another song on the setlist.

  37. Youngblood is rad Meet Me on the roof is one of my fave songs of the album though! It has an atmosphere of its own. Everything from the way the chords are assembled, to the singing and the bass interlude, kinda stands out. I especially love when Billie sings the 2nd time in each chorus, in falsetto: "come meet me on the roof tonight". Unpopular opinion #1: less interesting song on the album is Stab You in the Heart. Not that it's not enjoyable, or original (every song on the album is original especially compared to what they've done previously, and that alone makes it a strong album, I don't care what any review says lol) but to my ears it's the song that brings the least to the album. Sugar Youth and Graffitia are not my very fave but in terms of originality and musicality they're way more catchy to me. Fave song off the album so far: Take the money and crawl. It's so bold, catchy and satisfying Unpopular opinion #2: as for the singles, Oh Yeah > Fire Ready Aim > Foam song. For the music especially, because Billie's falsetto on Foam (when you distinctively hear it live) is awesome

  38. Meet Me On The Roof and I Was A Teenage Teenager are still utterly horrible after 25-30 listens. The rest is okay. Solid. Not amazing. Just solid. Though I REALLY hope they put TTMAC and Graffitia in the set list. I love you Billie but please don’t make us listen to your strained falsetto on FOA, FRA and MMOTR live, makes me cringe. 😂

  40. Don't worry FRA is one of my personal top songs on the album, not sure why a lot of people seem to not like it very much to be honest. Yeah I noticed it the first time I heard the song and knew that was going to be the case for me, but there are are a lot of songs that use this very same progression on the album, it's one of my major complaints about it to be honest. Don't get me wrong, I've grown to love Junkies, but it's just weird for me coming from RevRad which was at least 90% original melodies and going to this which is what 10-20% original melodies?

  42. This one isn't available to the UK/Europe _______ THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESSCOMINGS & GOINGS https://soaps.sheknows.com/the-young-and-the-restless/comings-and-goings/559407/green-days-billie-joe-armstrong-teases-possible-young-and-restless-appearance/ The lead singer of Green Day, Billie Joe Armstrong, shared a video of a Young and Restless scene with Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Summer (Hunter King) taped while watching TV several days ago. In the clip, Armstrong can be heard saying, “I want to be on a soap opera so bad.” In the comment section, Camryn Grimes (Mariah Copeland) posted in all caps, “This is my show I am on it please come back and visit for the love of God *deep inhaling but not in a creepy way*.” So had he visited or was he just watching the scene on TV and pining? Well, a new post appeared yesterday on Armstrong’s account, a photo taken on the Young and Restless set behind-the-scenes. It certainly looks like the singer of hits such as Good Riddance and Holiday had his wish come true. Soaps.com will keep readers updated as to any confirmed appearance in Genoa City.
