I donβt get why Rolling Stone publishing a 4/5 review is meaningless but a youtuber giving 0/10 is a trustable source of judgement that deserves attention, I must be too old for this π10 points

I love when Billie sprawled out on the couch, looks so cute Mike's mustache And Billie's black tooth. He still looked so lovely and sweet to me it didn't creep me out lol7 points

I really do love Meet Me on the Roof, Sugar Youth, Stab You in the Heart, Take the Money and Crawl and Graffitia now. Oh and Fire Ready Aim is a bop. Even if I never love Oh Yeah, Teenage Teenager or Junkies on a High, I'm happy with that I can't wait to hear it all live! Providing they actually play any of it, that is... Also, yesterday my fiancee asked me to take photos of the snow because they never see it in California and I wandered too far into this creepy wood and accidentally walked into a swamp. I got stuck. You might think I'm in the wrong thread, but as I desperately clung to a tree branch and almost lost my Doc Martens trying to get myself out of this fucking swamp, wondering if I was going to fall face down and realising I'd forgotten my phone, all I could hear in my head was Billie going "I DON'T WANNA BE A ROMEO!" and "DRINKING WHISKEY BY THE RIVER DOING YEYO!" at full volume. Traumatic. I'll never hear it the same way again.7 points

Goddam, we get Billie looking awesome in a red shirt and heβs blacked out a tooth. Looks like an interview too though, canβt wait to see it. Can we block him from his thread? ππ7 points

I'm gonna end up crashing my car from clapping along to this album. Also some of these songs absolutely floored me on the first listen. I was almost moved to tears the first time I heard Meet Me On The Roof, Teenage Teenager and Graffitia. I can't describe it, but those three songs just brought so much joy to me when I heard them. They sound so damn good on this record and I'm glad my skepticism of this record was washed away.7 points

I'm sure the tooth thing is a joke, but I hate it. Billie is such a little shit! He knows it's awful and he loves it.6 points

Iβm sure I read that itβs generally considered pretty good of Billie to share all music credit with Mike and Tre and he does all the lyrics (most of the time, there is the odd exception) and could claim far more of the music as sometimes they just play what heβs written but I think that probably changes with each record. Billie himself has said he gets annoyed when they, particularly Mike, donβt get enough credit for GD.6 points

I just can't help myself, but the intro to TTMAC fits perfectly into a Tarantino movie. And the rest of the song kind of too... When i think about it, Tarantino generates haters and lovers just as easy as Green Day... Damn i love that album already...5 points

I forgot to mention when I showed my mom the one photo I took with Billie's arm outstretched, she was shook by his belly peeking out. Now, she's showing off the picture to anyone she knows and going "You can see his belly! He's getting naked!" So then I had to tell her about the classic "She" performance... I think my mom is turning into a fangirl5 points

That response was so damn great. Pure classic Green Day answer. I was (still am) cracking up over it!5 points

He should have doubled down and given himself a black eye too so he would look like he lost a fight π5 points

If he hasn't liked Green Day since Nimrod, why did he bother to review it? It sounds like he no longer has an interest in the band. Then don't review the album. I wouldn't bother writing about artists I have zero interest in aside from saying I tried it but it wasn't for me π€·ββοΈ5 points

Fantano's criticism of the billboard was dumb, almost definitely a marketing team decision and unlikely anything to do with the band. I feel he made a lot of valid points about the album though, okay it's not a 0-1/10 release and we can put that down as hyperbole for the sake of a video - but there's some serious fundamental issues with songs being over produced and the lyrics being really dumb/lazy throughout. Fantano raised the point that the album lacks a true direction, I'd agree, listen to it in one sitting, it's a messy run through of tracks attempting to put a GD spin on the changes in rock music throughout different eras. Kudos for trying - it's not worked for me, but it's clearly being enjoyed by others. People are getting a tad upset on here over one poor review though, honestly, I think GD have done well to get so many positive reviews from the mainstream. I genuinely thought when I heard the leak it would get a mass panning. Most importantly at this stage in the bands career, reviews really are neither here nor there, it's not going to stop them suddenly producing music in the future. If you're enjoying FOAM carry on doing so, don't let yourself get caught up in some disapproving comments from a YouTube reviewer or other individuals.5 points

Someone that gives 0 to this record has 0 credibility, but after all fantano is an entertainer, he makes videos on YouTube, heβs not a professional reviewer. Thatβs ok.5 points

He's just adorable, they all are, I think this is my favourite interview of this era so far. The black tooth is appalling, but why does he still look so pretty with it? Also, I wanna touch his hair please.π4 points
-
That's just some fun, it's like FBHT/Rev posts he used to do on Myspace. The poster contradicts Billie's attitude as he generally expresses open mindedness towards different music genres, collaborated with a Swedish producer (Avicii), cited Kendrick Lamar as an influence on FOAM and was just in a Tyla Yaweh and Wiz Khalifa video.4 points

Billie looks so fucking good in that shirt. I love red leopard print. Also, the "missing" tooth makes him look like a mischievous child π4 points

The album objectively is not as bad as Fantano says it is. He might hate it but I honestly don't think Green Day could do anything to impress him. He's said that he hasn't liked a GD album since Nimrod. That alone makes his opinion on GD pretty much invalid imo. If it were as bad as he was saying, you'd at least see some other reviews from well known reviewers or critics that were really low but if you look on metacritic, YouTube etc., nobody is giving the album any lower than a 4/10 other than butthurt fans and fantano4 points

Woah jesus, that guy is PISSED Bahahahaha! "Filled with pop garbage" Wait what? Has this guy never listened to any rock music that came out before American Idiot before? The closest thing to a pop song on this album is "Oh Yeah", and it's just as much pop as "Still Breathing" was. "Singing Falsetto the entire album" Nope, unless you have only heard the title track, and even then he only sings falsetto for a third of it. "Unless this album is a troll" Well I think Billie pretty much confirmed that it was intended to be a troll album when he said he thought about fucking with everyone and calling it American Idiot part 2, that doesn't mean it still can't be a good fucking album. Honestly what's with the FOAM hatred? Like i get not falling in love wit it and thinking it's amazing... but just what???4 points
