I’m disappointed that this promotional period seems to be grinding to a halt. It started great with a tour announcement (albeit with shows almost a year away), a single and a music video but since that time, three months have gone and we’ve gotten that same song performed about a half dozen times and little else apart from an NHL song that is not a single, never performed, no music video and a four year old Christmas song. I thought we’d have more singles by now, more interviews, more appearances. They’ve been averaging no more than one or two major things a month. At least with the long wait for the album I thought this time would be packed with new stuff and surprises. I’m even stuck waiting two more months for a damn coffee mug. If this is all there’s gonna be then just give me the album already.8 points

You see this while walking home and have to stop and take a picture (this was also after spending $4.09 on lunch today).8 points

I so wish they had made a professional recording of the musical while it was at the St James Theatre5 points

Reminiscing about the 99 Revolutions Tour (which deserves way more love) and looking at photos 10/10 defying gravity I was like "maybe I'll post a few of these" but there are so many good ones... I'll just have to COME BACK5 points

I'm still not over the fact that the tour that was announced was Hella Mega too I mean not GD plus one support like previous tours but three supports. It's great if you like all four bands but if not...5 points

I hate to say it, but I agree. I honestly thought by now we'd get another single, music video, some more interviews, and more magazine cover stories. And yeah they've made some appearances, but it's mostly been quiet. It's so weird. I remember during the Trilogy, it felt like the band were doing interviews and such every other week. This time it was like one month of excitement and the nothing.5 points

I am still surprised that they didn't, I always expected to get one, they really missed out on that, when you think how long the musical has been running around the world it seemed like a no-brainier, Billie seemed amazing in it but wish there was more, high quality footage.4 points

I find it a little unsettling that there's Tre Cool on the cover of Good Omens and there's no explanation for it at all4 points

I love when he does that, there's some of his most powerful writing in songs like these. Longshot lyrics are great and there was a tinge of darkness in them that seems to be growing stronger with FOAM. I can't say RevRad wasn't a nice change with overall happier mood though.4 points

Honestly, I'd rather pay a higher price point to see Green Day on their own than deal with something like the Hella Mega tour.3 points

I’m hoping this has all just been a taster and things will really ramp up in late January.3 points

FRA didn't get any life nor did they try to give it any. It was like here you go NHL do with it as you wish. I'm awaiting the true second single.3 points
-
Yeah that's still a huge gripe with me. Just...why? I'm not paying that money to see 3 bands I don't care about. I get the idea and package tours are popular (much to my disdain) but I still wish they would've done a regular arena tour.2 points

It may not leak at all given that Crush has kept a much tighter lid on things than Pat did.2 points

I like that juxtaposition. I'm glad he's getting back to that. Longshot was similar. Happy/upbeat music with dark & simple lyrics.2 points

I think part of the issue is that current popular acts aren’t very good or exciting live, with maybe a few exceptions. The 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s were definitely the peak of live music and it’s been downhill since. People are very nostalgic for that exciting live rock show.2 points

When you get this in a Wonder Trade on Pokemon and decide to keep it because it's called Kevin (even though it's the wrong nature) When you buy a train ticket and think: Carriage 21 ("21 Guns"), Seat 86 ("86")2 points

Someone actually hid a camera in her bra, opened her shirt and filmed the show! It was briefly on YouTube but got taken down There was someone else attached a small camera to their hat and filmed the show but that got taken down too1 point

That probably indicates the setlist will be the same slightly shorter length as HM1 point

My guess is they did, for archival purposes as many shows are, but not for commercial release 😢1 point

Yeah, even if they do something now it somehow just wouldn't be the same. As you say it seemed like a total no-brainer and missed opportunity1 point

I would hate it, but I'd accept if they got their ticket prices on par with other big bands, because GD has been on the cheaper side of the price range for arena/stadium shows until now, but making this a "pay more to get something you won't enjoy" deal is even worse.1 point

They don't wanna blow their load before they even get started. I'm gonna do my best to be patient cause I think they'll be around for a while for this stint. But yeah as a fan I am dying for more.1 point

Love that aspect of Green Day. But what about the reverse? Super sad/dark sounding but happy words?1 point

Looks like that Monsters of Rock thing that inspired the Hella Mega tour has been inspired in return. Just saw that Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett are touring together in 2020. Like Hella Mega, they are playing PNC Park in Pittsburgh in August.1 point

So how many more singles left? Did we come to a consensus on this?1 point

I had kind of hoped that would happen with me too, but so far, no. I came to realize that I like the lyrics though. The "And it's so hysterical, crackin' up under the pressure, looking for a miracle" and "lying in a bed of blood and money"-part is actually pretty brilliant. Those lyrics in a song I like would break my heart, I guess.1 point

I just heard FOAM on the radio for the first time and you know what??? I like it a lot more than I thought? Maybe I shouldn't have listened to it on my phone first, because it got a lot better on a less crappy device. Anyway, I'm slightly more hyped now1 point

Yeah I remember he joined the band for I think it was Knowledge at a show I was at1 point

I like this shirt It even has a cute 3 on the sleeve in case you're not sure which album it was a freebie with! #JusticeForTrilogyMerch1 point

Maybe because if they release it as a single the reaction will be "oh old man reminiscing about being a teenager :((("1 point

I don‘t get it as well. Could someone please enlighten us? 😅1 point

For me I'd prefer this remains as an obscure album track rather than being released as a single. As Green Day fans we get it but as a single out to radio stations and the general public they just aren't going to understand it. For me this sort of has a Ramones vibe to the title1 point

I thought a lot about what Billie said in all those recent interviews, that he has a short attention span, doesn't like long songs (anymore) and that's why FOAM is so short. His logic absolutely doesn't work for me though. The two songs we got so far feel awfully long whenever I listen to them because they are just repetitive and boring, and I catch myself looking at the watch like two or three times. They feel longer than three King for a day live-medleys in a row.1 point
