  10. That was a heartfelt message. They're young and healthy, we can only hope they'll be all right.

  11. I've not had many GD dreams recently but I had two last night: In the 1st one I dreamt that I turned up at the Huddersfield gig and the whole of the standing area had been covered by deck chairs and the people with standing tickets were told to sit on the deck chairs. As you can imagine those fans weren't happy and there nearly was a riot. In the 2nd dream I dreamt that Billie had 50 cakes thrown at him on his 50th birthday.

  16. I think it may be even harder to get them all like that, the ball doesn't have enough power when launched from that close! Billie should've stopped half-way for a fruitful cheating

  17. I was just thinking about how much I love the song Whatsername. It's probably one of my favorite GD songs and my favorite song on AI and I wish they would play it more. I love the sadness and intensity of it and how it starts and ends so softly. Such a fantastic song!

  19. This has to go here too, this pic of Billie Joe is fabulous! Look at that arm - thank goodness for a short sleeved shirt. I love his hair like this, I know everyone doesn't but it just shows his beautiful face structure off so well, and that one curl...… and you can see it's a natural tan. 😍 😍

  20. @solongfromthestars great article and what a balanced approach you have been able to take. Hats off to both you and your mum. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ I am nearly ages with your mum but without her major health problems and gigs have become seriously hard work in the last few years. I have noticed of late that I am subjected to more and more ageists comments which, frankly, make me crazy. I feel like telling those people that sex was not invented in the last 20 years, nor was punk or rock music or many other things, e.g. exercise and gyms for women were largely fought for by our generation. However, thankfully there are always people who’s behaviour is so awesome, they makes up for those others. I have no idea how your mum manages to do what she does, but I wish her many more great gig experiences and kudos to you too for recognising how awesome she is, supporting her and highlighting these issues. πŸ¦„πŸ¦„

  21. This is a piece about the devotion of disabled fans who return to shows despite physical challenges and ableism. It's not just about Green Day, but it's based on experiences of following them and The Longshot on tour. https://www.mariagloriaharvey.com/post/disability-and-devotion "I've spent a lot of time photographing and talking about fans who sleep on streets. Their devotion is amazing. Now, though, I want to pay some attention to a kind of fan who’s rarely acknowledged, yet equally devoted. They are the disabled fans who know they're unwelcome in the pit, even at shows altogether – but they're still there, singing every word."

  22. When you see this and instead of laughing at the joke, think of Green Day (fans) Also when you find a bag you took to the roughest Longshot show and it's just full of tissues from mopping up nosebleeds all the way home

  23. Partially GD related - apparently the promoter of the cancelled Gla;sgow gig in 2017 is suing the stage firm. I'm sure the people who were let down that day agree with their decision although it's small comfort to those who missed out on the show and kinda sad it never got rescheduled https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/green-day-glasgow-gig-row-20656545 There's another priceless and untrue heading from them here: Green Day Singer Reveals Wife Swimsuit Photo Of course Billie hasn't done anything of the kind I suppose at least we're having a laugh at their titles!

  24. Don't know how legit The List is but short article here: Billie Joe Armstrong 'pulled his hair out' over Green Day's new album https://www.list.co.uk/article/112070-billie-joe-armstrong-pulled-his-hair-out-over-green-days-new-album/ Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong was pulling his "hair out" whilst making the band's new album. The 47-year-old singer has admitted to experimenting with various sounds during the recording sessions for 'Father of All Motherf***ers', which is poised for release in February 2020. He explained: "I knew I wanted to do something different. "I'd always loved British mod music from the Sixties, but I wanted to go to where the source was and see if I could put [soul] through the Green Day filter. "It was a lot of trial and error, a lot of pulling my f***ing hair out." Meanwhile, Billie's bandmate Mike Dirnt thinks the popular band is currently making some of the best music they've ever made. And the 47-year-old bassist is happy and relieved he's managed to remain at the top of the music industry for so many years. Speaking to Rolling Stone, Mike – who formed the chart-topping band alongside Billie in 1986 – shared: "It's been a f***ing crazy ride. "How the hell I'm vertical and still putting out what I consider to be the best f***ing music of our career is beyond me. I'm humbled by it all the time, but I'm still hungry and I still wanna kick a lot of ass."
