When you see this and instead of laughing at the joke, think of Green Day (fans) Also when you find a bag you took to the roughest Longshot show and it's just full of tissues from mopping up nosebleeds all the way home3 points

Just realised that this time 10 years ago I was seeing Green Day for the first time. That's insane! There are bits I remember and bits I don't. I remember the build up of the drunk bunny and Do You Remember Rock 'n' Roll Radio? Then just being unable to take it in when they ran onstage. I vaguely remember the confusion when the "sacrifice" was unsuccessful and Billie "sacrificing" Jakob instead. I remember the flashing gas mask in The Static Age and before Give Me Novacaine, when Billie announced he was "officially fucking English as of now!" My clearest memory is probably the moment I recognised the intro to At the Library. No one around us knew what was going on or why me and @Rumpelstiltskin2000 were going insane! I can still feel myself wheezing from all the jumping and singing. For a long time I had a perfectly clear memory of 21 Guns and how beautiful the piano bridge was, but that's sort of an echo in my head now. I loved seeing King for a Day. It was magical somehow. Then I didn't expect the band to come back for Last Night on Earth and that was so exciting. I met my fiancee that night, too! We're from opposite sides of the world but that show happened to bring us together. So most of all, I remember the whole thing with this warm, fuzzy feeling around distant images of stage lights that (yes, I'm going to say it) changed my life. Billie "sacrificing" Jakob. Please link to my blog if you repost it!2 points

This was recorded on Friday, to be broadcast Monday. They are in Spain for MTV EMA’s, playing in Madrid in 30th, club show, and World Stage performance in Seville 2 Nov. At leads some of the band flew to Spain on Friday after this.2 points

There should even be a fangirl thread for Kevin I found this gem back2 points

I don't hate the songs, but if the entire album sounds like this, I'll be content with listening to it once or twice and then moving on.2 points

Day #2 drinking Atomic Garden and WHOA this stuff is strong. Usually I have a cup or two and I have some extra energy for a bit and that's all. I got at 6am yesterday, drank some around noon and was wide awake until 1am. Had some with breakfast today at 6am and I am still super wired at 1pm. Did Billie and Mike sell me drugs?1 point

I thought it was interesting that Strangers And Thieves was originally intended to be a Rodeo Queens song. It gives me hope they still exist as a project1 point

Glad he's letting that hair grow again I don't understand where they are, Spain?1 point

If Kevin is a touring member when the Hella Mega Tour starts, then we will know for sure he took Jeff's spot officially. Just to be back on topic, the guys looked great from what I saw on those pictures from KROQ.1 point

^ I think that private gig during the Rev Rad era not long after he got the Rev Rad tattoo was the last time his arms were on show during a GD gig On a different note, when I was shopping in town this morning I spotted a book about fangirls in a bookshop. It made me think of this thread1 point

Green Day get a mention in this Kerrang Article: 14 ROCK SONGS THAT FEATURED IN THE SIMPSONS https://www.kerrang.com/features/14-rock-songs-that-featured-in-the-simpsons/ 3. GREEN DAY – AMERICAN IDIOT It might just be for a few seconds, but Green Day’s American Idiot appears in The Simpsons Movie. Yes, you might remember them playing the Simpsons theme on a barge that eventually sinks into the polluted lake, killing the band, but at their funeral a special organ version of American Idiot rings out in the church. Moments later, Abe bursts in while screaming about impending doom to set up the rest of the film.1 point

Damn Sara just posted a short clip from the KROQ show and Tre and Mike are both in tight black t-shirts but Billie’s still got that darn jacket on 😤1 point

If Kevin does become a permanent touring member, there should be a Kevin's biggest fan GDC award, and @Montclare will win it!1 point

Please, oh please let it be Green Day (or literally any of the other rumored acts would be okay too) and not that overhyped Taylor Swift. I want to see some PRO shot footage of the boys!1 point

Green Day land the number one spot on NME's list of Best Pop Punk Bands Ever: https://www.nme.com/blogs/nme-blogs/best-pop-punk-bands-1943797?utm_source=hootsuite&utm_medium=&utm_term=&utm_content=&utm_campaign= It's only a paragraph: The only punk-pop band truly deserving the epithet ‘iconic’, Green Day transcended the gonk rock roots of the scene to become stadium level rebels and cultural commentators, delivering high-concept behemoths like ‘American Idiot’, indulging themselves over triple-album releases and making their own sodding Broadway musical. The band every punk-pop kid wants to be in. Admit it, NOFX.1 point

When you’re typing a letter to a law firm and one of the names it is to is Pritchard and know that only other GD fans would understand without explanation.1 point

I'm reading a serie of novels for teen/young adult. The main character mentions a bunch of punk bands she listens to through out the books. I was wondering why she never mentionned GD yet until I read pages 350-352 of book #6. I was like «Yes! That was about time!»1 point

Weird that I’m only now realizing the coincidence that the American Idiot musical was at the St. James Theatre. St. James = St. Jimmy 😲1 point

@ANTI we hear a little about Chile, but it feels like we are in such a mess, we don’t have time to worry about others right now which is a dreadful state! I hope things improve and you stay safe. Glad you are finding comfort in Revrad. On a lighter note, I had two blackberries, last one was white, it was very cool and they were great. I still complain about touch screens being rubbish 😂😂1 point

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but i'm just gonna write it cause I need to get it out of my system. If you guys haven't heard, Chile has been in a full blown out chaos since Friday. It started out as a student's manifestation because of the raise of metro fare prices and in a matter of hours, it escalated into police brutality over the evasions, protests and riots all over the country over the social inequality of our socio-economical system and a declaration of state of emergency with military police on the streets and curfew time, which we haven't seen since the dictatorship in 1973-1990. Over the last days, I've been a part of the manifestations and it has been so horrible living the military repression that was taught to me in school and that my parents feared during the Pinochet years, especially because Chile has always been hailed as one of the most stable countries in Latin America and just 5 days ago, the president referred to our country as an "oasis in a convoluted continent" (goes to show you how thin the veil of democracy is). But underneath all that, there has been years of social discontent, class disparity, institutional distrust and political inefficacy that's been brewing inside of us that just exploded, without any kind of civic organization or political agenda, just everyday people going out in the streets because we had enough. During this last days, I've tried to listen to many of the albums that usually comfort me when I'm in this kind of mood; Parquet Courts' "Wide Awake", IDLES' "Joy as an Act of Ressistance", even American Idiot didn't work, but then I put on Revolution Radio and it just clicked. While I've never been a RR hater, I did criticize it at the moment for not being topical enough. I wondered why Billie didn't write Say Goodbye more explicitly about the BLM movement, or why Revolution Radio and Troubled Times sounded so lyrically empty. And it's just so funny how this three songs have been the only ones that have comforted me during this past week, and what I thought was just buzzwords took life on its own while I ran away from teargas and the police. I thank them for this now, because now I realize that repression isn't about a particular subject, it's a global issue that shares a common language that they expressed perfectly in this songs, and that the revolution against the establishment isn't always contingent, perfectly articulated or even rational, like it's usually romanticized in the dystopian movies. I used to say that those songs were a "fuck you just because", but damn if I don't feel like that after watching my family, friends and everyone surrounding me being screwed over for decades. So yeah, this one goes out to Revolution Radio, thank you for being the anthem that I needed for this moment in my life, because even though I'm scared shitless about history repeating itself, I'm also hopeful because I still see the spark in my people and I know that this has just begun. In any other time, I might have put it off another day, but not today.1 point

So I haven't seen anyone actually review the coffee yet on here? So I just had a cup and wanna share my thoughts on the thread so some people know what they're getting into. First of all, as many have said in the thread so far, Amazon is only selling the whole beans at this time, so before you order, you'll have to make sure that either A. you have a good quality coffee grinder at home, or B. there's a grocery store or Kitchen Kapers in your area that has a grinder you can use in the store or purchase. From personal experience, I can tell you that it'll be so much easier if you can get your hands on a bigger grinder; the grinder I have at home can only do maybe an ounce at a time, so it took me upwards to half an hour to grind the whole 12-oz. bag. Once you have it ground, you're ready to brew. The directions on the bag say 3-4 tablespoons for every 10 ounces of water, but you can use more if you want the flavor to be a bit stronger. I did 4 tablespoons for 10 ounces and it came out as it should. Now, on to the taste: I got the Atomic Garden blend from Amazon because the Gardenista blend at CostCo's website cost too much for me, the Andean is only available in a few restaurants/cafés in Cali, and the single-serve Fourth Wave blend isn't available yet, so the Atomic Garden was the best way for me to go. And after trying it, I gotta say: it was extremely good! Probably the best I've ever had, but then again, the only coffee I've ever really experienced is Melitta (my mom never drank anything else, and my dad still only drinks it), Starbucks, and Dunkin Donuts. It has an impressive bite, but overall it's a very full flavor that went down really smooth. All of which I guess you would have to expect from a medium-dark roast, y'know, smooth but with a dark bite, but whatever. I did have it with cream and sugar, which I don't know if that's sacrilegious or not among coffee nuts, but I didn't put much in so I still got a good sense of the coffee's flavor. I definitely recommend it! I don't normally pay attention to caffeine content, so I'm not sure exactly how strong it is. Actually, come to think of it, it's not even listed on the bag or anywhere on the company website, but I imagine it's just enough to wake you up and get you feeling nice and relaxed in the morning. If you're reading this trying to decide whether or not to get it, I say go for it. It's a bit more expensive than regular brand-name coffee, and grinding the whole beans takes a bit of time and effort, but trust me, it's definitely worth it for a good cup o' Joe to start your morning! Oh, and one last tip: my dad told me that once you're done using it for the time being, seal the rest inside the bag nice and tight and store the bag in the freezer. This keeps the flavor nice and fresh each time you pull it out to use.1 point

I didn't see it at the club shows but it would be great/ cool/ probably a great promo idea if they provided samples or included as part of merch during the arena tour! Coffee is bulky and probably tough/ expensive to truck everywhere for the full tour, but they could potentially do it and it would be fantastic promotion. Good idea- you should join the Warner marketing team!1 point
