I was just looking back through Billie's Twitter for something I'd mentioned in the IG thread. Couldn't find it but I did find these gems I don't think I posted these two before but I seriously just laughed out loud to myself!

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but i'm just gonna write it cause I need to get it out of my system. If you guys haven't heard, Chile has been in a full blown out chaos since Friday. It started out as a student's manifestation because of the raise of metro fare prices and in a matter of hours, it escalated into police brutality over the evasions, protests and riots all over the country over the social inequality of our socio-economical system and a declaration of state of emergency with military police on the streets and curfew time, which we haven't seen since the dictatorship in 1973-1990. Over the last days, I've been a part of the manifestations and it has been so horrible living the military repression that was taught to me in school and that my parents feared during the Pinochet years, especially because Chile has always been hailed as one of the most stable countries in Latin America and just 5 days ago, the president referred to our country as an "oasis in a convoluted continent" (goes to show you how thin the veil of democracy is). But underneath all that, there has been years of social discontent, class disparity, institutional distrust and political inefficacy that's been brewing inside of us that just exploded, without any kind of civic organization or political agenda, just everyday people going out in the streets because we had enough. During this last days, I've tried to listen to many of the albums that usually comfort me when I'm in this kind of mood; Parquet Courts' "Wide Awake", IDLES' "Joy as an Act of Ressistance", even American Idiot didn't work, but then I put on Revolution Radio and it just clicked. While I've never been a RR hater, I did criticize it at the moment for not being topical enough. I wondered why Billie didn't write Say Goodbye more explicitly about the BLM movement, or why Revolution Radio and Troubled Times sounded so lyrically empty. And it's just so funny how this three songs have been the only ones that have comforted me during this past week, and what I thought was just buzzwords took life on its own while I ran away from teargas and the police. I thank them for this now, because now I realize that repression isn't about a particular subject, it's a global issue that shares a common language that they expressed perfectly in this songs, and that the revolution against the establishment isn't always contingent, perfectly articulated or even rational, like it's usually romanticized in the dystopian movies. I used to say that those songs were a "fuck you just because", but damn if I don't feel like that after watching my family, friends and everyone surrounding me being screwed over for decades. So yeah, this one goes out to Revolution Radio, thank you for being the anthem that I needed for this moment in my life, because even though I'm scared shitless about history repeating itself, I'm also hopeful because I still see the spark in my people and I know that this has just begun. In any other time, I might have put it off another day, but not today.

I don't hate the songs, but if the entire album sounds like this, I'll be content with listening to it once or twice and then moving on.

I'm very much looking forward to the album and more interviews and performances, but so far none of the songs have really made me hyped for the album. Hopefully, the next single will. Still really excited to get my copies though!

I'm catching up on season 3 of Better Call Saul and if you don't know, his real name is Jimmy. Last night, he said something about being made to look like a saint in court. His friend girl then proclaims him "ST. JIMMY!" and said that it has a nice ring to it. I wonder if that was nod to Green Day, and I'm also wondering what year that was supposed to take place in, because it's a prequel. I'll have to investigate. ST. JIMMY!

It does say on the bundle page that items are available separately but then you have to search to find them, they don’t link them there so I agree they do make it hard on purpose. I noticed it only because I spotted the same thing with the Oakland coffee mug and was able to search for the mug alone and buy it so I did the same thing here.

I'm actually miffed at the Green Day store because I feel like they're not making it clear that all the merch is available without the digital album for a cheaper price. I ordered the pin set with the album because I thought that was standard. And I see it's available without for 5 bucks cheaper. I just contacted Warner wondering if they would just switch the items for me. Hopefully, they can help but on their FAQ it says they can't. Hopefully, that's not true. I'd really rather save the five bucks and not have the album go to waste.

Size wise; you can set up the Rose Bowl and get a HUGE crowd if you set up the stage in center. GD show was always supposed to have the stage at about the 20 yard line. It was moved about 20 yards up to compensate for the 15k tickets unsold so that it would look like a sell out, and it screwed a lot of people. Dodger Stadium is just more reserved for the elite of music. The Beatles played their second to last concert ever there. People that saw Paul Mc there 3x since remember each occasion. U2, Rolling Stones, it’s just iconic. I’m a lover of venues and Fenway was and Dodger Stadium are two of the greatest still used stadiums. Wrigley is amazing but it’s only used for stuff now. It’s not a park. Rose Bowl (without stage is 98,566) and Dodger Stadium (without stage is about 59,300).

Partially GD related - apparently the promoter of the cancelled Gla;sgow gig in 2017 is suing the stage firm. I think they're gonna be stuck in this weird vortex of shitty "badass" music until Billie accepts his age. I know a lot of you are gonna be like its not about age and he doesn't have to grow up but we're never gonna get the deep introspective lyrics he's capable of until he stops trying to keep the fire of youth alive and just moves on. I know the man who wrote some of the most amazing lyrics ive ever heard is still in there but he's way too obsessed with being a rebel, whatever the fuck that even means today, to write some real shit from the heart.

I've only just realised Billie says "that was pretty tasty" after Sex, Drugs & Violence on Demolicious. Also I didn't notice Jeff's vocals live but they ruin most videos from this show Glad I watched it tho because I get way too excited about spotting myself in the crowd and my smiling face is lurking

Spent most of my work day listening to RevRad and 21CB. Still two of my fav albums and I'm hoping FOAMF has some 21CB elements to it

I'm listening to Shenanigans right now, and it flows like a regular album rather than a compilation. Way better than the usual b-sides album, and maybe one of my favorite GD releases now that I'm thinking about it.

I want a time machine right now 😑
