I like FOAMF much better than Oh Love. Both are fun to sing along to but FOAMF you can also dance to. Oh Love is too slow and draggy, you keep wanting it to pick up and it never does.7 points

BJ = cringe that adds to his appeal - if you don't get embarrassed by at least one thing he does on the night - it's a bad nightπ6 points

I think the promo video for this NHL thing has a glimpse of a new song!3 points

I thought Jimmy Kimmel was the better performance of the new song. I don't love it but that's just because I don't like the song that much. The love for the iHeart performance was what surprised me. I didn't read the GDC thread, but elsewhere people were saying it's the best Green Day have ever been and all kinds. I found it very average. It's amazing that they did it at all, but that doesn't make it their best performance ever. Other fans are making me feel like it's a massive deal that I don't like the song, but honestly - how many people, other than me, actually like Know Your Enemy or Oh Love? Even BOBD isn't that popular with hardcore fans. This is just one single. I might like every other song on the album. Anyway, I came here to say that despite not being keen on this era's aesthetic so far, I want Billie's starry jacket3 points

@maryjanewhatsername I don't really get what's cringey about that performance. I thought it was really good! They all looked and sounded awesome and Billie's trill is nothing new. He's just a goofball and likes to do that occasionally. But, I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy it. I'm sure there will be another performance soon that you'll really like.3 points

This is so cute. The look on Billie's face. I also love how his face looks a little chubby.3 points

Itβs smart they get a download and/or sale with every merch sale if you want the other stuff.2 points

The description fits with Billie: "Portraying the very tender image of the child angel apparently unconfident in his effort to handle the lute"2 points

I feel the same way. I just can't get into it and it makes me sad because I want to be excited. But I guess even if we don't like any of it, there'll hopefully be another album and era soon. Disliking a whole era will be new for me, but not a huge deal considering the size of their back catalogue. I still hope it'll all grow on me if I like the rest of the album. Know Your Enemy is a great opener! I actually hope they keep it. I'd like to see Oh Love back on the setlist too, although there are lots of other great trilogy songs that would be even better additions2 points

I think they all look fantastic right now. I feels like a very Green Day thing to get all dressed up for touring. That's how it's been almost every tour since AI and they can still pull it off spectacularly - especially Billie. He has a face that should never be covered by a beard. In my opinion, which is well known by now, it doesn't suit him at all. I like it when he's all fancy and pretty. He looks great if he isn't (as long as there is no beard), but I like it best when he plays up his natural beauty. Very few people look as good as Billie when they're his age, so I say he should continue to flaunt it while he's got it.2 points
-
I wouldn't say I've had much of an opinion about his looks throughout the years, but these days, I feel it would suit him better to grow out a beard or at least some stubble. It kind of bothers me that he seems to be dressing UP for each new album era. Fancy shirts, blazers, slicked back hair. Sharp looks in general. A little try-hard. It's just not in line with how I want to perceive Green Day as they hit their 50's. I feel he should dress down and be chill. He looks so cool when he's off touring (like below)! I hope he will adopt a similar look for Green Day at some point. I think it would make them come off as more mature, but still rock n roll.2 points

When my boyfriend wanted me to go to a Yelawolf concert with him, I was told I needed to listen to every album and mixtape before going. OH HOW THE TABLES HAVE TURNED. now he has to listen to all of the Green Day albums2 points

Omg I could've just gotten the mug??? Geez I was so excited when I saw the bundle I just went for that ooops. Well, I said I wanted to get some more Oakland coffee anyway. Green Day always finds a way to get my money even though I didn't buy a ticket to Hella Mega1 point

"Ready, Aim, Fire" (at least that's what I'm hearing) @That Dude You need to update your "track list" I wonder how many times Billie fell while doing that jump at :03 seconds? (and now I'm giggling just thinking about it)1 point

About the reputed cringe, I learned to play Youngblood on guitar and it's so damn fun. Cringe Billie is best Billie One good thing about Jeff is that he's a normal guy who deserves to stay in Green Day. Another good thing is that the majority is against him, which is often a sign to leave the thinking herd1 point

One good thing about Jeff (hear me out), is that he said he's wanted the guys to play Whatsername for a while now, which I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with. What a good song that is...1 point

When will we get a self-titled album? When will Mike stop describing songs and albums as "firing on all cylinders"?1 point

Robert Smith's eyeliner is iconic in its own way anyway but considering this was only a couple of years ago I don't think there's any question that Billie could still pull it off! I think maybe it's just that the look they've gone for with FOAM is already so glam (fabulous shiny stars and leopard print and leather trousers etc) that they might think too much eyeliner would be overdoing it. He still has a touch of it.1 point

The last couple of months haven't been great for me personally, but getting the announcement, and seeing all the pictures and footage has really helped to cheer me up. I had almost written off seeing GD at all this era, but then I found a way of getting to and from a gig on the day plus a really good seat, idk how this happened but hopefully getting the ticket is a sign that my luck has changed.1 point

I just spent some time looking back on comments I made during the RevRad era on here. And it's strange; I'm excited for this new era, but I feel like I've been mourning that period of my life as a fan. It was just the most special, beautiful, magical era for me as a fan β it was the moment they grew into the band I always dreamed they could be, in every way imaginable. I was so happy β at my peak of being profoundly in love with this band, and in love with loving them. Everything felt perfect and honest and just so them β every interview, every performance. I wanted to hold on to that feeling this time around, but I'm not sure I'll be able to based on how the band is describing the general vibe. During the RevRad era, Billie used to talk about how each night was "a celebration, not a party." Now it seems like we're back to the party. And that's okay, I guess. Times change. But I think I will always be a little heartbroken that we're moving on from that era.1 point

The Jimmy Kimmel performance OMG have you seen it, what about the look towards Mike at about 1.21 π₯π₯π₯ they all looks great but Billie Joe is soooooo gorgeous. Hair, eyes, tan, outfit, hand on hip, hand on chest ........ no words ... canβt wait to see the music video with the red suits. This round may kill us fan girls π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯1 point
