I love this era so much right now and while I agree with @The Bellie that not many people Billieās age wear their hair like this I would say most most canāt as they donāt have the quantity or quality of hair and if they did they would just look ridiculous. To be fair, if Billie wore his hair like this with this dad look, he wouldnāt look as good as he does in these but my god, this man still looks like the world stomping rock star he is! ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø So watching the Kimmel performance again, is there a gold and silver version of the leopard jacket, the Kimmel one looks much yellower? Also, the jacket with the little star was great and did anyone clock the black jacket with bigger black star he wore for the interview tin Rivers and Pete? Hoping for more of these, they are great.5 points

I can't say much about the album. I just expect thar they play a good chunk of it live. That pumps me in. I'm really glad they changed their sound in a big way. It keeps things interesting. Also their small changes on the live sound are welcome too. I need this record NOW4 points

Pretty easy actually. Leopard print everything is everywhere this season. š3 points

When your favorite morning radio dj hates GD, and you continue to listen anyway. And then as part of their morning schtick they tell the story about the worst song to drive to and you listen because youāre sure theyāll slam GD but instead they donāt and for the first time in 7 years they play a GD song and you rock out in your work parking lot.3 points

Do shows happening up to a year away sell out quickly though? Many people may be unable to commit to expensive show tickets for an event that (at least for Pittsburgh) is almost a year from now. Maybe they have a resurgence of sales in the spring when people start really thinking about their summer plans.3 points

It has been on point so far during Kimmel and iHeart though.3 points

I love how getty has furnished us in pictures lol. I can't resist to post a few more ones: big smiles as for the backstage photos, I really like this one, Billie looks like an animal cartoon hero (that's not an insult lol). You won't convince me otherwise I'm rather partisan of finding that Billie does look his age, it depends on the pics, on the makeup, the haircut mostly (not many people his age wear that kind of haircut), and the level of rest, like anyone, but it's true that some pictures are defying reason; like here he looks like a 14 year old nah? (why does he have to make those ingenuous faces lol )3 points

I remember my girlfriend saying the single wasn't really good and she didn't understand why I liked it. Yesterday I heard her singing out loud in the kitchen "I GOT PARANOĆA BABYYYY" š3 points

The length of the album doesnāt bother me, but Iām hoping itās much better than the single. Iām all for the guys doing whatever makes them happy and playing around with different styles, but the falsetto has to go. It just doesnāt sound good and Billie hardly pulls it off in passing, let alone singing entire freakin verses in it like in FOAMF.3 points

Do it! Leopard print stuff looks so good. I've had a leopard print plush coat for a few years now and I love how it makes boring winter outfits look extra. Never going to get bored with it.2 points

I would think that only pretty hard core fans would buy tickets this far in advance. All the casual fans will buy them much closer to the event. And I imagine the promotion will continue to be intense. One thing I donāt get though. Why have 2 or 3 shows in some states or in cities that are close together none i others? For example, they have shows in Pittsburgh and Philly but none in Ohio.2 points
-
Yeah he should definitely try to sound different for the sake of sounding the same But jokes apart, I think the contrast between the falsetto and the chorus āscreamingā singing is one of the things that makes this song very interesting, especially live2 points

He's been doing pretty well so far, imo. And just because the single has a bit of falsetto doesn't mean every single song will be like that.2 points

Remember the astronomical amount of bitching there's been about the trilogy being too long with too many songs? People still complaining that it should've been one shorter album to this day? This is it, a condensed party style Green Day album! More Green Day is always nice but short albums can work, and it's still 10 songs which is a fairly common amount these days.2 points

Okay, the boys have definitely crossed a new line of sexy with this iHeart Radio performance. I'm usually not fangirling over Mike so much, but bloody hell, those leather pants looked hella sexy.š My boys are back. Bring on the damn tour guys!2 points

It still doesnāt sound as good as his ānormalā voice, in my opinion. I donāt think the falsetto really adds anything other than trying to sound different just for the sake of sounding different. When he switches back to his regular voice in the chorus, itās significantly better1 point

Thatās understandable, there have been 2 presales and they only have 2 dates in Italy, which is one of the biggest countries for GD in Europe. I think in Italy now every concert ticket for shows above 5000 people is nominative, so resell is almost out of the picture there. Those are (mainly) genuine tickets bought by fans1 point

I donāt think we deserve anything and should be glad that at this point in their lives, this band still want to have fun and have the energy to keep making new music, trying new stuff and planning big tours. Re the length of the album, quality not quantity and so far I love everything about this era! I actually thought we might be getting a much more 60s vibe to the music and if there is, Billie has made it feel fresh and new.1 point

For those who did not waste their time scrolling through getty images for the last hour, here are a few pics from last night's performance (a little more than what we are supposed to put all at once in a post, but there were too many of them I loved. I put half of it in spoilers) I'm currently so much in love with his legs I loved the blue / shiny tone for the background; and whatever says this motherfucka about his own songs, it reminds me of live still breathing . dang um, badass So the rest below Okay, I'm gonna sleep my fangirling off now, bye1 point

Well, I have a lot to catch up on since I've been away for two weeks I'm not going to read the whole thread, so some of these points have probably been made multiple times but I'm going to make them anyway. The song is OK. It sounds better live and I might like it more without the weird vocal filter, which makes Billie sound like an accelerated chipmunk. The title is, as others have said, a different kind of immature to Dookie or even Fuck Time and I'm not sure how it relates to the song. I'm a bit embarrassed to be such a huge fan of a band who named their album that. I realise the cover is a piss take but it's still cringeworthy. Despite their attempt at protesting Warner and fame, I feel the song, image and promo are more Crush than Green Day. Mike has been dressed like Brendon Urie. The song immediately reminded me of Fall Out Boy. I know how many fans think they're Real Punx who 100% make their own decisions, so couldn't possibly be controlled by management; but they're not independant, or they wouldn't be leaving Warner. It's undeniable to me that Crush have seriously influenced this song and era. Some people might love that, but personally I don't. Not because I don't think it's punk or whatever but just because I'm not into the sound or look. I know a lot of people felt it'd be embarrassing to see them pedalling half-hearted political messages. For me, though, some rich old white guys - who've previously preached inclusivity and looking out for each other, but weren't really prepared to practice what they preach, eg. Morrissey - talking about rebelling, rioting and violence is equally, if not more embarrassing. I'm not saying rebelling or rioting are bad. We need to rebel and riot to create a better world. It's just a bit cringeworthy and empty coming from Green Day at this point. The violence part is questionable, especially considering past statements like this: āThatās one thing I hate about the new mainstream [punk]: blatant violence. We get lumped into this bandwagon of this fucked up mentality. To me punk rock was about being silly, bringing a carpet to Gilman Street and rolling your friends up in it and spinning it in circles. Or having a pit with people on tricycles or Big Wheels. The whole thing had a serious message to people, but at the same time it was silly, and people werenāt afraid to talk about love. Itās a different thing going on now.ā They obviously don't have to remain the same all their lives to please fans, but this isn't the band who reeled me in with claims of love and inclusivity. It's not their fault. Again, I don't expect them to remain the same to please me, but it's obviously still a bit disappointing. The ticket prices are also disappointing. Yes, they're only as expensive as other bands and there are three huge acts to pay on this tour. I also know musicians have less and less say in things like ticket prices as the music industry grows and becomes more controlling. I guess I'm disappointed in the music industry, not Green Day. And I really dislike Weezer and don't like Fall Out Boy or The Interrupters enough to feel OK about the prices. Which, again, isn't a criticism but just my personal disappointment. Finally, the way some fans have reacted to disappointment is so childish. Whenever I opened social media while I was away, one of the first few posts was another person complaining that disappointed fans were fake or undeserving or whatever. I agree that if someone's hated the band since Dookie but is still sitting around bitching, that's sad and they should get a hobby. But if someone's a massive fan and has loved almost everything, of course they're going to be disappointed if suddenly they release what they feel is a blatant piece of shit (I don't think it's that bad, but some people do and that's fine). It's not a case of being difficult to please or undeserving. It's because they're huge fans and want to love everything but can't. To me at least, that genuine fandom is worth more than unconditional, but obsessive and/or insincere love. I'm actually really sad I can't love the song and can't get as excited as I'd like to. Like, it's a new era and I feel like I'm missing out on all the fun because I can't get into it. I hope it'll all grow on me and I have faith that it will. Maybe I'll love the rest of the album anyway. But this is the first Green Day single I've heard since I became a fan that left me apprehensive for the upcoming era, not excited. I blasted Know Your Enemy and Oh Love on repeat until I could still hear them after switching off. I think I'll go listen to some of the Arab pop jams I heard in Lebanon instead of this.1 point

I've been diagnosed with panic disorder too. It can be very distressing and disabling to live with. At one point when I was younger it was so bad I could barely eat for days and I couldn't leave the house. I had no idea how to cope with it and I ended up developing a self harm habit because of it. But honestly knowing Billie also suffers from it but still went on to be one of the greatest frontmen of all time really inspired me to keep fighting and get better. Sorry for oversharing but it's an awful thing to deal with and I'm grateful to Billie for having the courage to be open about it, it really helps to know you're not alone.1 point

I have actually wanted to start a thread about this for a long time. I have been diagnosed with GAD (General Anxiety Disorder) and panic attacks. And not that I'm promoting it but I'm prescribed a benzodiazepine called Klonopin. After being on it for a little I remembered that Billie had anxiety and it made me feel better and more normal cause someone that I have looked up to my whole entire life had the SAME mental health issues as I did! Made me feel a lot better about my condition...but then I remembered the iHeart Radio incident...he admitted he was on anxiety medicine, insomnia medicine, and was drinking throughout the day. Although he did not want to say what medicine he was on, I could only imagine it had to be something like Klonopin, and that shit kinda scared me. He said he went through insane withdrawals (lying on his bathroom floor in agony) and that the whole experience was basically hell. I don't want to go down that road, but I guess everyone's different. Anyway, moral of the story is, I still look up to him and almost praise him for dealing with his anxiety for so long. Maybe one day I'll be as big a rock star as he is ......with anxiety and that's okay!!1 point

Just a little concerned. I would like to hear more Billie Joe content. Pill addiction is heavy and the death rate of pill relapses are pretty high. I just hope they guy I grew up listening to is staying healthy.1 point
