A lot of the reactions on here are fucking embarrassing, honestly. I really didn't think the Green Day fanbase was one of those fandoms that hates every band that's not their own, and to get actively mad that the band is going on a tour is absolutely ridiculous. It means it's the start of their new era, how the hell is that bad news? Just don't go to the tour if you hate the other two bands that much, you're out of your mind if you think this will be the only tour Green Day does for the new album cycle anyway. They will 100% go on a solo headliner afterwards Personally I'm super excited that they're back, and probably going to get a ton of publicity and attention from this.18 points

I follow the charts stats pretty closely and i can assure you that FOB are not the commercial force they were in their last album. MANIA sold 130.000 in their first week, and only 10.000 of their sales were from streaming, which is not good considering they had almost a 1 year build up with 3 fully released singles to add to streams, none of which charted in the Billboard Hot 100 as they used to. Their last album had 218.000 first week sales in 2015, that's almost half the sales in three years. Compare that to Green Day, which released RR after the biggest flop of their lives and still could manage to sell 98.000 and have 8.000 from streaming with 2 months of build up and very little promo. That's only a 30.000 difference between a band with crossover pop appeal who had a huge comeback with big hits and a +30 year band that had to kill-off an entire trilogy album and cancel a great part of their tour and promo because of rehab. Also, surprisingly, Green Day are kinda killing the streaming game. Fall Out Boy only have 24 million Spotify listeners because of feats in popular songs like Summer Days from Martin Garrix. I remember checking their profile in the same month they launched MANIA and they had 13 million, while Green Day had 15 million. Really, Green Day are doing very good at Spotify, they have 14.400.000 listeners, released their last album in 2016 and they don't even get featured in a lot of playlists, so their monthly listeners are much more representative of their real audience, unlike FOB. For comparison, this are the Spotify stats of other groups Other legendary bands - Foo Fighters: 10 million - Metallica: 13 million - Oasis: 13 million - Nirvana: 13 million - RHCP: 17 million (the only ones i found that have bigger numbers) Younger bands - The Killers: 12 million - Arctic Monkeys: 11 million - Muse: 8 million - Twenty One Pilots: 15 million (one of the biggest bands in streaming) - The 1975: 8 million So yeah, FOB are not doing THAT good, they have a loyal fanbase, but their audience is not that sustainable in the long run and are no longer that popular with younger audiences in comparison with, for example, Panic! At the Disco, which, as much as it pains me to say cause i hate that asshat Brandon Urine, have had a genuine solo top 10 hit in the last year. And Green Day are doing exceptionally good all things considered, their last 4 albums (which have been the last 10 years) have received a very lukewarm reception, they don't have a big push in playlists or radio and still they are still very much a part of the pop culture in the digital era. Now, i hope y'all give me likes and hearts and stuff cause i'm a journalist and i had to take out my calculator to pull out this stats, and i haven't done that since high school like 5 years ago, so do that. Also, this tour sucks and i hope they keep it away from Latinamerica.16 points

Nah I mean, FOB and Weezer just have more straightforward/toned down styles. Green Day are in the RnR Hall of Fame and known for some of the most impressive showmanship when they play live. Billie Joe is known as one of the most engaging frontmen of all time, the other band's lead singers are not. Green Day's music is the heaviest and most rock n roll of the three. The others might be great live but it's not in the same way. If they played it like a contest they'd be doomed to lose just because of the nature of their performances.9 points

Seen all 3 weezer(once) are decent but it wains half way through and Rivers is quite flat FoB(3times at all different size venues) are poor live. Musically solid, but show wise non existent. Green day(this would be show 6) are one of the best live bands on the planet. Up there with Springsteen in terms of a show.7 points

Not me. I want new Green Day and shows that move forward, not back. And the shows are half Dookie/AI anyway.4 points

Yeah all the bands have good points, but just talking about live shows going on reputation and knowing that Green Day shows are more big and theatrical it doesn't seem like setting it up as a competitive thing would make a lot of sense. Each show is enjoyable in its own way I'm sure but bands with a more straightforward indie style aren't going to "beat" Green Day's rock n roll showmanship. Like, obviously I'm biased as a Green Day fan but let's not pretend these three bands are equally accomplished as live acts, they're not.4 points

Listen, we all have nothing against FOB and Weezer. We’re just worried that we waited 3 years just to see them not play as long.4 points

If they play near me, I'll definitely go. Just a little afraid of what the ticket prices will be though.3 points

Green Day should really be on their own. For one, their time will be cut unnecessarily short. Secondly, they’d completely overshadow FOB and Weezer in terms of performance. It worked for the Pop Disaster Tour because Green Day was promoting International Superhits!, but it would just leave disappointment for many in this case, including me.3 points

Good question. Are they drawing randomly from people who have purchased things from the band’s official merch stores before? That’s what I’m wondering. How else would they have their mailing info?3 points

I'm waiting until we know for a fact what's going on before forming any solid opinions, but general thoughts- As long as GD plays last and has a full set, I'm cool with this. I like enough of Weezer and FOB's hits to be okay with seeing them. I do worry about having to fight with the other bands' fans for tickets and space though. My fear is if GD's set is shortened, due to radius clauses, I'll have to travel a long ways to see them when they tour to support the album. Also wonder if this tour will delay the album and just be a greatest hits for all three bands. I find the idea of them all releasing something on the same day to be odd. They have overlapping fan bases, so wouldn't they just cancel each other out and sell less/have a harder time charting? It's interesting to look at various fans' responses. Both Weezer and FOB's reddits are happy about this. I hope they don't look here and see all the negativity about them. It's one thing to be not be thrilled about this, and another to act as though this is the end of the world. I keep reading it as Hella Maga, so... yeah, not the best.3 points

I dont know more than anyone else does, but if I had to guess, I imagine Weezer would perform first, followed by FOB, with Green Day closing. Just what makes the most sense.3 points
-
I don’t care who sells more records today, Fall Out Boy themselves would probably consider it massively disrespectful to upstage Green Day by headlining over them. I don’t think they would want to do that, they consider them legends.3 points

I bought the Bob Gruen photo book and here are the pics I liked the most, from what we haven't seen mostly (he took a lot pf pics of Mike and Tré too but I only fangirl over Billie so) (sorry quality not great, I took them with my phone ^^) There are not many pics of revrad but I love these ones taken from back. Why does he look so sexy and perfect while taken from back? I don't remember if we had the mirror part of the private quarters half-naked pic but here it is His profile Halloween 2011 if I'm not mistaken? I don't remember to have seen it before. Use this thread to talk/speculate about the for-sure-happening-but-not-announced world tour that Green Day will be going on with Weezer and Fall Out Boy (well, in all reality, Weezer and Fall Out Boy are going with Green Day but you understand what I mean).2 points

I have no doubt that the term Hella Mega is just a fun use of kitschy terms, sort of like some movie titles that are on the surface cringy but obviously semi-sarcastic. That’s obvious to me, so I immediately liked the name of it when I saw it.2 points

So everyone who’s complaining about the HM tour is just assuming that GD isn’t doing their own tour also? Because I don’t think that’s a correct assumption. This is not going to be a long tour I don’t think.2 points

For me it’s the other way round. I know their name but none of their songs! They are not big here in Germany at all2 points

Ranked correctly I think that would be a mistake honestly. Like Green Day shows are objectively more theatrical and impressive.2 points

I checked the numbers you said and you're right, it's 5.000. That's still a 5.000 streaming difference between the two, and FOB had 3 singles in 8 months that accumulated their streaming numbers, compared to GD 2 months. I never said RR did better than MANIA, i said the bridge between the two albums, considering one should be at the top of their selling game after a comeback album and the other is at one of the lowest points of their career, is very small. What you say about their last hits is what's most surprising, Green Day should not have such big streaming numbers since they have been out of the charts spotlight in the last 10 years and still a lot of people listen to them, old hits or not, which is why i said that even tho Fall Out Boy sells more now, i don't think their audience is that sustainable in the future, especially since i see they're in a very awkward spot between not being a fully commercial pop band like Panic! and losing part of their tumblr young audience to groups like the 1975 or Twenty One Pilots.2 points

Me too. No way I will not go if the boys come anywhere close to me. But I was planning at least 7-8 shows this tour circle, which will be painful for both my wallet and my ears because while I love Weezer, I can’t stand FOB. But yeah what the hell. Hoping for some solo dates as well. GD was selling out arenas here in Europe last tour, so I don’t see a reason why they shouldn’t come back for a regular tour leg. At least I hope.2 points

Well what else are you here for in this thread? The whole point is to speculate and state one’s opinion and discuss that2 points

In addition to the guy on the last page saying there will be dates in London and Huddersfield, there was a guy in the Next Album thread that also confirmed it will be coming to a couple stadiums in the UK because he worked at them. Page 398 or 397 I think, nobody replied to him. Despite what everyone says about promoters not touching this lineup in Europe, I think it only makes sense for it to be worldwide. Its not like blink and Lil Wayne or FOB and Wiz Khalifa, its two bands that sell out arenas in the UK, and with 9 months of promotion I'm fairly sure this tour will sell out a couple of stadiums. I do believe GD will be the main act and will play close to their normal length set, I would expect FOB to play upwards of an hour and Weezer no more than half an hour. Show would have to start slightly earlier than normal but I'm sure thats doable.2 points

Maybe he got at little taken aback by how godawful shirts his own management is sending out.2 points

In the twitter post of the girl who received the t-shirt, Billie commented like he was all shocked about this and then tagged Pete Wentz. Was that part of the act? So weird.2 points

I really want to know how random people have been mailed these random band shirts, like how were their mailing adresses acquired, and how did they know what size to send?! The one with GD on it that says FOB is the best one imo lol. Bound to piss some random people off that don't know what it's about 😂2 points

Part of me doesn’t want this happen and part of me does. If it does, can someone give me the link to a warning label site where you can your own warning labels? Because if I can’t hear Billie, (or if some random Weezer or FOB talks BS about ANY member of GD), noses will be punched, shins will be kicked, and feet. Will. Be. Stepped. On. Very. Very. Very HARD! Because as a GD fangirl, I reserve the right to see Billie.2 points
-
I’ll join this conversation around here! FOB and Weezer will definitely NOT be headlining/ getting as much stage time as GD in Germany at least!!! I wouldn’t mind GD doing a tour with those two bands if: - ticket prices were still below € 85 per show - Weezer doesn’t play for more than 45 minutes - FOB doesn’t play for more than 1 hour - GD play for AT LEAST 2 hours - Bohemian Rhapsody and the drunk bunny don’t get cancelled - Weezer and FOB fans aren’t absolute dicks (yet to find out about this)2 points
-
Green Day also have a big reputation as an exceptional live act. They pull in numbers at shows based on that reputation alone even when they don't have a popular album out. Can the same be said for FOB? Not that I'm aware of. Over here at least pretty sure a GD show is a lot bigger news than a FOB show2 points
-
I think if you asked someone on the street to name at least two albums by both bands, they'd be a lot more likely to be able to name 2 green day albums, rather than two by FOB, by a large margin. I think that's a good indication of more historical significance going towards green day2 points
-
That’s amazing! Can you imagine trashing a band on twitter and then one if the members answers back? This reminds me of Tre on Mean Tweets: “It’s good that you’re thinking of us when you’re on the toilet. We’re doing something right.” 😂2 points

I’m unhappy for the same reasons as everyone here — worse views, higher prices and shorter sets. This is not Green Day touring with two big support acts; it’s not being billed as a Green Day tour. It’s a package tour like Pop Disaster was. Weezer will likely be the “Jimmy Eat World” of the lineup and Fall Out Boy and Green Day are the Blink/GD co-headliners meaning sets of equal length probably no more than 90 minutes each. They can’t really showcase a new album with this kind of tour it will be a greatest hits show like Pop Disaster was. I think it will do very well for them and will be fun for them and I’m happy that they’re excited. They’ll sell out stadiums and gain fans. I just hope they tour the rest of the year on their own for those of us who want to see longer, deeper sets and multiple shows because no way am I going to this thing more than once.2 points

Because he just has an incredibly beautiful form. His frame is light and delicate, but also has attractive curves in all the right places. He has really nice, well defined legs too. Billie is just perfect from the front or the back!2 points
