They both have that slightly rock n roll, bouncy catchy songs thing going on. Bouncing Off the Wall and Youngblood sound like they're straight off the trilogy. Can't think of another Green Day album it sounds more similar to. Revolution Radio could be accused of that since the lyrics are quite vague but Bang Bang literally describes a mass shooter's thought process in the first person, can't see how that could be considered meaningless. Also there's loads of songs with deeply personal lyrics like Somewhere Now, Forever Now, Outlaws, Still Breathing. Idk but I find the lyrics on Rev Rad some of their most direct, honest and relatable.
