Why specifically Emirates vs. Milton Keynes though? They also played Wembley in 2010 and I think there they had higher attendance than at Emirates Stadium. Also, they played several large stadiums in the US during the American Idiot tour (Giants Stadium, just to name one) also most likely exceeding 60'000, although not reaching 130'000. Btw, I think Wembley in 2010 was actually their single biggest show in terms of attendance. From what I read, they played in front of 90'000 people, which they haven't topped since then on a single show.3 points

Even Amanda... I love so much that song. He says "you're a different woman, that's for certain" and comes from "I don't know a thing about" to "I wanna know about". And the chorus. And the solo. One of the reasons I love the trilogy is that it carries deep, heavy subjects and you cab't be unaware of that when listening to the lyrics, and the music itself has sadness in it but it's always a jam at the same time. I love Extraordinary Girl, Give Me Novacaine and Whatsername from AI, for instance, but they're so devoid of any joy it's sometimes hard to listen to them. While I could listen to Lazy Bones in a loop, it will be okay. It's one of my favorites and the saddest of the trilogy, for me, but it still gets me going.2 points

I think some is good, some is pretty bad. I’m just happy to see someone who isn’t churning out the same old pop crap written by 8 people.2 points

I’ve actually never seen that clip haha, guess I was thoroughly warned though lmao. Even I wasn’t this goofy at 19 though, jesus christ2 points

I forgot Wembley was their biggest show! Pleases me since I was there. There's a brick in the ground outside the stadium that GDC members clubbed together to pay for, it commemorates Green Day playing there/GDC members being there. Particularly fitting knowing it's their biggest show to date.2 points

When the rare opportunity arises that someone is legitimately curious about Green Day, and you rub your hands together like an evil businessman.2 points

I don’t care what anyone says, Billie E is talented. It can’t be denied even if you don’t like her music or persona. Listen to some of her simple acoustic live performances. Her voice and range are amazing, and she and her brother write/produce all of her stuff. Billie Joe is right on this one, and there’s a mutual admiration there.1 point

Since the Trilogy era Billie/Green Day has been so "cryptic" to reveal/give hints about record releases... I won't be surprised if this is a new case.1 point

Honestly I don't mind this thread as long as Billie doesn't go in the confessions thread. Maybe if Billie comes here he'll realize how cute he is1 point

Damn The Longshot are a sexy sexy band. The chemistry of Billie and Kevin together is explosive 🧨 🔥 I love that they have a very different thing going from Green Day. Billie’s amazing with his ability to create band concept after concept and have them be distinct from each other and always a rocking good time. His creativity has no limit, he’s so extra he’s too much for one band to handle ❤️❤️❤️1 point

My nephew's 11 and for the past couple of years he's mostly only been into chart music and not so much into Green Day or any rock. But the other day he told me he and his friends at school have started a band (it's a thing where they're allowed to use the music equipment at lunchtime) with him singing. I asked him what kind of music they were doing and he said "like Green Day" Turned out the way it started was his friend was playing a song on keyboard that he recognised as a GD song, the friend was very surprised he recognised it and was like how did you know?? He said because of my mum and auntie . I guess it's not that common for two 11 year olds to know Green Day now so that's cool. And now they're writing songs and trying out music stuff. Warms my heart!1 point

Had to go to the doctor's the other day (still nursing an injury to my leg from the Oslo 2017 GD show!). The doc ended up asking me what I'd done for my recent landmark birthday and I don't know how but the conversation turned to her telling me she was going to Costa Rica when I told her I'd been to Costa Rica to see GD about 10 years ago. The doctor exclaimed "YOU WENT TO COSTA RICA TO SEE GREEN DAY!" outstretching her arms and nodding her head in appreciation followed by "THAT'S WHEN NO-ONE USED TO VISIT ON HOLIDAY". I felt bad because there were a lot of other patients waiting but she talked to me about it for about 15 minutes and asked me to take in my photos! It's so rare to find anyone over here that's remotely interested or who even knows who GD are!1 point

Billie looks young from behind because he doesn't have shoulders and this makes him look like a slouchy teenager1 point

I was once in a situation (AI musical, I've mentioned it before) where Billie was so close to me that I could have reached out and made physical contact, but I didn't. I think if the opportunity arises again, I will always be too nervous to touch him anywhere unless he explicitly gives consent.1 point

I can't see either of your posts! So I was at that show... Didn't speak of it before because I tended to freak out too much already like that, with some expectations that got disappointed like meeting him which didn't happen, and i didn't know where I would end, but finally it was great, for waiting early enough I ended up front row right before Billie. About the bellie I wanted to say that by stretching my arm not even fully I could've touched it, but I didn't. I think Billie is a person like another and deserves to be respected in his integrity, being crazy about him can't excuse everything. I already hate that someone would touch even my hair without asking. When Billie crowdsurfes and opportunistic people touch his hair, (like I did myself last year!), it's one thing because he just throws himself in the crowd, but touching his bellie while he's playing, I don't think it would've been very respectful! Before the encore, when they were about to get back up on stage, they crossed a few fans on the sides and one girl brushed his arms in passing. When getting back up on stage Billie then had a quick wiping gesture on his arms with his hands. Proof that he didn't really like to be touched like that It was so porn indeed. He lay down just because he wanted to and once the fan (a girl two places on my left) had positioned the mic, he grabbed it so she would hold it a little closer to his mouth. She kept her hand perfectly still after that, but gosh it was just brushing his lips all the time! It was way too hot1 point

I see myself in those pics, damn the girl in the front middle with the white Longshot shirt and red glasses. I'll say a few words about the show (and the day) in the dedicated thread!1 point

For me, it depends on the type/level of touching. Like the other night, there was a girl who basically choked him. Not cool. Or people who basically expect him to stop playing to take a picture with them. That's annoying for both the band and audience. But the quick shoulder hug people I have no problem with.1 point

He is a precious puppy who must be protected But is all seriousness, having random strangers come up to me and invade my personal space would make me uncomfortable too. Especially while I was trying to do my job. Seeing some of these women "having" to touch him while his singing/playing before they dive back in to the crowd makes me uncomfortable.1 point

Didn’t even think of that. Thank you @Hermione for making my head go into the gutter at 10:30am Monday.1 point
