Why specifically Emirates vs. Milton Keynes though? They also played Wembley in 2010 and I think there they had higher attendance than at Emirates Stadium. Also, they played several large stadiums in the US during the American Idiot tour (Giants Stadium, just to name one) also most likely exceeding 60'000, although not reaching 130'000. Btw, I think Wembley in 2010 was actually their single biggest show in terms of attendance. From what I read, they played in front of 90'000 people, which they haven't topped since then on a single show.3 points

Even Amanda... I love so much that song. He says "you're a different woman, that's for certain" and comes from "I don't know a thing about" to "I wanna know about". And the chorus. And the solo. One of the reasons I love the trilogy is that it carries deep, heavy subjects and you cab't be unaware of that when listening to the lyrics, and the music itself has sadness in it but it's always a jam at the same time. I love Extraordinary Girl, Give Me Novacaine and Whatsername from AI, for instance, but they're so devoid of any joy it's sometimes hard to listen to them. While I could listen to Lazy Bones in a loop, it will be okay. It's one of my favorites and the saddest of the trilogy, for me, but it still gets me going.2 points

I think some is good, some is pretty bad. I’m just happy to see someone who isn’t churning out the same old pop crap written by 8 people.2 points

I forgot Wembley was their biggest show! Pleases me since I was there. There's a brick in the ground outside the stadium that GDC members clubbed together to pay for, it commemorates Green Day playing there/GDC members being there. Particularly fitting knowing it's their biggest show to date.2 points

When the rare opportunity arises that someone is legitimately curious about Green Day, and you rub your hands together like an evil businessman.2 points

Just because I didn't remembered any other that could be that huge. Thanks, I will look further for information about Wembley 20101 point

I agree with some opinions regarding production style in trilogy. Let Yourself Go should have been straight punk-tones rather than clean af guitars. Same goes to Loss of Control. However, Trilogy's guitar sound is fucking amazing especially during songs like Stop When The Red Lights Flash, Lazy Bones, Lady Cobra, Wow! That's Loud, Amanda, 8th Avenue Serenade and Missing You. Those songs would not be as good as they are with any other tones. I don't get it why people like Demolicious versions more than studio albums. Sure, Baby Eyes and Nuclear Family sounds fucking amazing there, but everything else is just meh for me.1 point

Stumbled across this on FB. In one of the paragraphs GD gets a small mention: "I don’t know of any other bands that made it as big as Libido Boyz did, though several were very formative in the scene which revolved around basement shows, garage shows, Marti’s, YWCA, there was that empty storefront in the downtown mall that had a bunch of shows, there was even an epic show out at a farm where Green Day came to town and played on farm spools and a pick-up bed." If anyone would like to read the full article you can find it here: http://www.southernminnscene.com/punkato-how-mankato-became-a-paradise-for-punk-in-the-90s/1 point

Being picked out of the crowd to come on stage to sing or play with gd is different than crowd surfing your way to the stage just for the “touch” factor. Crowd surf all you want but don’t strangle him while his literally playing the music other attendees are trying enjoying.1 point

But look at his mum, she's 87 for goodness sake. I haven't seen a picture of her for a year or two but no way she looked anything close to 80! What with the hair and all, that's some gene pool 😂 Just made me wonder if we'll get lots of posts with Billie and Adie's big anniversary soon.1 point

I was once in a situation (AI musical, I've mentioned it before) where Billie was so close to me that I could have reached out and made physical contact, but I didn't. I think if the opportunity arises again, I will always be too nervous to touch him anywhere unless he explicitly gives consent.1 point

Ok, but like HOW does he look so damn dapper after playing a show?!?!?! I like that jacket he's sportin'.1 point

When you get an email from Tim Armstrong and for a second wonder why the musician would be emailing you? Sadly, you then realize that you have a business associate by the same name.1 point
