Feel free to investigate & keep the findings. Iโm grossed out enough.8 points

The new hair looks great on him as he pretends to age and the top is long enough to flop around when he's playing. I thought there would've been a few more Billie and Kevin moments, but hopefully they'll come.6 points

I think the first album/EPs (and Kerplunk too really) grow on you. When I first listened to the early stuff the lower recording quality was very noticeable and jarring compared to the high quality production of the later stuff and it distracted from everything else about the songs and didn't sound good. Plus the songs are rather simple so they sounded quite samey at first. I couldn't imagine ever wanting to listen to it as much as later albums. But with repeated listens I stopped noticing the difference in recording quality, and I started to notice the good stuff about the songs and nuances between them instead and grew to love them. I think there's some really good music and lyrics there, cute and heartfelt love songs, some very thoughtful stuff for such young kids on songs like 16 or Road to Acceptance, and some really nice riffs and guitar solos.6 points

Yeah, as a woman, I can attest to that not being a bra. ๐ฌ No wonder he's disgusted by it! Anyways... question: How the hell does Billie look like he just stepped out of the Nimrod era? That was almost 20 fucking years ago! Why do you do this to us, Billie?5 points

Yeah Billie and Kevin have been surprisingly modest so far. Maybe they thought it was getting too gimmicky. These shows are very businesslike. They sound great, Billie knows all the words, heโs not stretching Neat, Neat, Neat out to a strange fifteen minutes. Way less wild and loose than last tour but still great performances. Weโll see how the SoCal shows go. For Body Bag last night he lay down on the stage to sing it while a fan held the mic over his mouth from above. Reminded me of the Philly show when he had to sit down from the heat. His hair is perfect. Short back and sides and long and floppy on top is my favorite. Itโs like 21CB red stripe pants era but without the blonde. I hope he keeps this for GD.4 points

Yeah, maybe the Billie/Kevin stuff was a bit gimmicky. And I've been really impressed by Billies performances the last two nights considering how few gigs he's played since the Longshot tour ended last year. Hopefully we'll get a dorky live stream from the Longshot Instagram of the boys goofing around. Click on the Instagram post to open it up- copy the web address for the post -paste it here.2 points

We should make some of those tier lists for all studio albums and then we'd see what's a popular opinion or not. I did mine a while back ๐ฌ2 points

Just to chime in, first off we have no Dookie without Kerplunk! The album really is the first defining moment for Green Day and it seems like they had really found their identity on Kerplunk! Kerplunk! has great songwriting but it's more of a punk effort I would say. It was released independently with low cost production and there's a ton of energy on the record. If I had to compare what they were doing on the album to another band I'd probably say it's similar to The Buzzcocks. Dookie is different and although it's still very much a punk rock record there's still moments on the album that very much make it a big rock record too. Between '87-95 if you threw the Longview bassline at any major label rock band they'd all take it. That bassline is not something you'd get on Kerplunk! When I Come Around is somewhat of a departure as well. It's a very unique song and while it holds rhythmic roots in punk rock it's a fusion with other styles as well. You also see some fusion with Pulling Teeth and Sassafras Roots. I would have to say both albums are Top 5 albums for me. Although I'd say Kerplunk! loaded the bases for Dookie to hit the grandslam. I think I may have stated on here before I really believe these two albums are the closest two albums in their discography. Like if you had to pick 2 albums that would become siblings these 2 would be the ones. Although I'd have to say after these two AI and 21cb have that dynamic as well.2 points

That wasnโt a bra apparently... I'm okay with him not wanting to touch it. Different angle:2 points

Billie's current hair reminds me of what he had near the end of RevRad, without the gel/sweat. It changes him quite a bit and fits him so well. I really love how it looks on the back. It brings out his Italian side too This as a bonus2 points

Can somebody teach me how to attach Instagram videos to my posts? I was scrolling through Instagram and I came across a recording from one of the Longshot gigs where somebody approached Billie and proceeded to rub his bellie! If that video belongs anywhere, itโs on this thread!1 point

Yeah that's not a bra . I think it's kind of regular underwear just with thin double straps at the sides1 point

I'm not sure I'd necessarily put Kerplunk above Dookie in terms of songwriting, since I think Dookie is just a better album all-round. That being said, I do think Kerplunk was severely let down by its production and in part, sloppier playing and lower quality recordings. Its strong-point is definitely the songwriting itself, which was already MILES ahead of anything released previously and there are definitely some true gems on that album. But in the end, I think Dookie was their big break for a reason. Tre's playing was just that vital bit tighter, the guitars were made to sound crunchy and huge, the song-writing was further fine-tuned, but most importantly, the production (recording, mixing, mastering etc) was great and gave it the last boost it needed.1 point

I enjoy Kerplunk more because the songs have not been as overplayed.1 point

Yes to the hair - thatโs what Iโm talking about!! Short on the sides, long and messy on top. Thanks Billie! โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ (Re @The Bellie I actually didnโt like his hair in South America because it was too short all around and looked too conservative for him. The two hairstyles to me are nothing alike)1 point

Billie's hair looks so fucking good in this post: Short but still long and messy on the top. His wild curls are just so damn adorable. Ugh, why does he have to be so perfect?!๐ญ1 point

How?! How does he look so amazing?!!! He looks like AI era Billie, yet it was only 3 years ago! More from the same event:1 point

I so far haven't been able to get floor tickets for a GD show, so I'm hoping this coming tour will be my chance! Seats are nice because you're guaranteed a permanent spot, but I really want to be able to see them all up close. I've seen Billie up close twice, but never with the whole band at a huge concert. Of course, I'll take as many opportunities as I can to be near Billie!1 point

GD's fanbase has shrunk over the years, but when I saw them it was good to see so many people from kids all the way up to people 70+ years old at the gig. It seems to me that some people who were in their teens/early 20's when Dookie came out are taking their own kids to see GD as two of the fans that came on stage looked about 12 years old. My Dad has always said ''a great band is one that has people from all ages at their concerts''.1 point

They're older now and rock music isn't popular so yeah down, that's just the way it goes. But I don't think it matters, they're cemented as a great band with a great catalogue of music and great live shows forever. Their shows are still very popular and even if a new album doesn't get as much attention it won't be ignored and still has a chance to make some impact critically and commercially. They're in the RnR Hall of Fame and are a "made" band pretty much so they'll always have enough fans to keep playing shows and releasing albums if they want.1 point

Reminded me again that Green Day have a pro shot video of the London FBHT show (which includes Highway 1 and every other song) kept all for themselves. A three camera shoot. And they've definitely watched it too because when I met Kevin he told me they did Highway 1 is so great! I understand them leaving it off though because they wanted to do the authentic traditional 12 song (6 on each side) record thing and also it's very similar to Broadway lyrically. I guess it was one or the other. Highway 1 existing gives me a reason to listen to the original 6 song EP with the film clip intros included which is always awesome.1 point
